Bottle, RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. ABV was 7%. Deep golden colour, big white head. Lovely and intense aroma of cloves and very ripe bananas. The flavour is yeasty and relatively sweet with notes of cloves, some hops in the finish.

Decanted from a 16.9 oz (500 ml) bottle into a conical pint glass.
A: Pours a cloudy orange-amber color with a creamy, wheat head, solid cap retention, and decent, if spotty lacing.
S: Aromas of banana, clove, toast, and citrus.
T: Semisweet. Palate follows the nose with more caramel, grain, and toffee than expected. Alcohol evident. Bitterness provides balance.
M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
O: A solid Weizenbock. Drinkable and highly enjoyable.

Hopf Weisser Bock has a thick, light-beige head, a cloudy, orange-gold, bubbly appearance, and a few lacing splotches left behind. The aroma is of banana, bubble gum, white wheat bread, and a touch of coriander. Taste is the same, but one will detect a hint of smoke, which grows as the beer is drank down. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Hopf Weisser Bock finishes semi-wet and highly drinkable.

Pours a murky orange-brown with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Tiny chunks of sediment are seen floating around in the beer after the pour. Smell is of wheat, caramel, toffee, banana, and spice aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, caramel, banana, and slight metallic flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a nice set of aromas, but the slight metallic flavors I am picking up diminish the drinkability for me.

Poured into a Samuel Adams perfect pint glass. Pours hazy golden with a thick eggshell colored head. The head dissipates at a moderate pace. The aroma reflects expected weizenbock notes. I get some of of those banana and clove smells along with the sweet and bready malt aromas. The taste follows the nose. The wheat and barley malt offer some bready sweetness and those banana and clove flavors come out as well. The 7% ABV is well-hidden in the flavor. I pick up some of that bubblegum flavor as well. There's some mild spiciness as well. The body is medium with high carbonation. The finish is smooth and clean. The drinkability is very high. This is an excellent weizenbock.
