I swear I could not throw a rock without hitting a Harris Teeter in this town! Damn there were at least 5 I went to today, they were all pretty much the same though. I am not sure what I was looking for, but more or less just hoping to stumble onto something new or lost in the shuffle which did not happen. Decent selection though. Had the usual, Magic Hat, DFH, Sam Adams, SN, Founders, ETC. Prices were pretty reasonable and you could get in and out quick. Overall the stores are a dime a dozen. Though a couple seemed to be a bit better off this one was about average.

Stopped in here today when I was visiting some other stores in the Friendly Center. Beer selection greets you way in the back as you walk in the main entrance. Decent selection for a grocery store, but pretty average for a HT. My local HT in Winston has a much better selection. I saw brews from SN, the new Imperial line from SA, Highland, Pyramid, Flying Dog, Magic Hat, Gordon Biersch, New Belgium, etc. Everything is in the cooler section which is nice. This is a decent place to grab some brew when shopping for groceries.

This is the huge new HT over on the new area of Friendly Shopping Center. Now what seperates this store from the rest in the Greensboeo area is its ever expanding beer selection. I go here with my wife about every week or so and every time I go in they have something new. It has gone from Terrapin to Stone to Founders. There is nothing in the way of service because all the people that serve the wine section think of the beer aisle as an afterthought. They have a good selection of local stuff from Natty Greenes and Highland and I can see that someone is trying to increase the quality and selection. My only complaint is that space for craft beers and local stuff is limited and they are quickly running out of space and I feel that they will start pulling in the reigns because heaven forbid they stop carrying 18 pac Bud in a can. Overall the best grocery store to buy beer.

This harris teeter is much larger than most, I have heard it refered to as the Tajma Teeter! The beer selection is good, but not great. There are some things here I did not expect to see, there are also a decent amount of Micro brews, and imports.
The lighting is very bright, and the wine section dwarfs the beer selection. This probably is because this Harris Teeter is in friendly center, right beside Starmount Forest, one of the most prestigious places to live in Greensboro.
There are a ton of over produced American lagers, light lagers and Pislners. You can find the same selection (say bud, or miller light) in 24 case cans, 6 pack bottle, 24 oz bottle , and in some cases 22oz can.
If you are in need of some beer and in the area this is the best place around here to get it. There are no decent bars to speak of in Friendly center, and you are pretty far away from the grouping of bars downtown, the group at Lawndale/Battleground, and the group on springgarden.

Most of the beer is in coolers with flourescent lighting, though a small selection of high end imports and craft brews are available on a small rack. In addition to the typical American lagers, this Harris Teeter devotes nearly half of it's cooler space to micros and imports. I was surprised to see things like Flying Dog's Imperial Porter, Franziskaner, and Hoegaarden. The best part is it's all cold, and while it might be a slight markup from Total Wine, sometimes decent beer that's actually ready to drink right then is worth it. This is near my house so it's a great place to stop after work or when we're having last minute company. Not the vast selection of a Total Wine, but more than I'd expect from a lot of places. It's also nice to see other lesser known beers (albeit unrefrigerated) such as Schneider and Sohn Hefe-Weiss, Duvel, Chimay, and Samuel Smith's hanging around as well, although these can be an unncessary drain on the pocket. A good place to pick up some reasonably priced session beers while out grocery shopping as well.

This is a nice grocery store with a good selection. It's apparently the biggest Harris Teeter in the country. There are lots of nice gourmet food options available in addition to the usual grocery fare. As for beer, you're not going to find anything really rare here, but there are many major and minor breweries represented and a few of the more common Belgian strong ales available. Note that sometimes you find some of the Belgians hiding in the outskirts of the wine section.
The prices are a little high, but not terrible. If you have a VIC card you can actually get some good deals if the beer you want is on sale.

This place has a very nice selection and not one of your typical grocery store. I stop in if I am at the Friendly Center area, but usually won't go across town to get here. A decent sized selection of single-bottle brews and a very large variety of six-packs. Yes, some of the selections are a bit pricey but if you look you can also find some a bit cheaper than you would in other GSO locations (Dead Guy for example at 4.49 for a 22oz. Again, not the #1 place to seek out for a beer but a great place to grab a brew on the way home if you've just caught a movie at the theater next door.
