Clear 500ml bottle: third beer of a random tasting even on 15 Mar 2013. Poured into an 'Old Speckled Hen' badged pint vase shaped glass (at home).

Pleasant light amber/golden blonde in colour with a small and swiftly fading white head of popping bubbles: carbonisation rising through the clear body adding to the surface fizz.

Malts rule this brew although the hops do give it a sharp edge and bitterness. The aroma was of baked fruit biscuits and slightly woody. The taste followed the same way but as mentioned sharper and quite bitter, especially as the mouth dries.

The beer lacks punch and body depth to be honest: OK but not enough 'umph' to make me want another.

Fruity aroma has a malty undertone, not much else. Pours a clear bright yellow with a fairly thick white head. Flavor is a little malty and a little fruity, with a weird varnish-like hint. Texture is rather thin and lacking fizz. Overall, not too hot. Nevertheless, it is drinkable, fine if nothing else is available.

A 500ml clear glass bottle with a BB of Feb 2013. Picked up a little while back from Booths. The red rose of Lancaster is prominent on the label (booo).

Poured into a straight pint glass. A clear golden-amber colour with medium carbonation and some floating sediment. Forms a decent head of white foam that lasts for a minute or two before subsiding. Aroma of harsh stewed hops, faint musty yeast and a hint of light malt. Mildly sulphurous. Not particularly inviting.

Tastes of subtle grainy malt with a stewed, dry finish. Notes of wet grain, cooked hops/leaves and a faintly harsh, musty character. A weak bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and tingly, with decent body. Lacks texture. Mildly astringent, with an aftertaste of acrid stewed hops.

Blech - not a very nice beer. The flavour/aroma are dull and watery, with various unappealing off-notes. No aromatic hop presence. The clear bottle may have played a role in this beer's poor showing, but I suspect it's just a bit shit. Not recommended; spend your money on something else.

It pours an attractive slightly hazy medium golden colour with a 2 finger head of foam(served room temp) and leaves some lacing behind.

It smells pretty bitter; lots of lemon and some floral notes. There's a bit of a sweet note or 2 in the background.

The taste is fruity with some notes of melon, lemon, and has an earthy malt base. I'm now tasting some sweet malt that does a good job of balancing the flavours.

Nice smooth mouthfeel and it's very easy to drink.

There's nothing super special about this Blonde...it's delicate flavours *are* pleasing to my palate though so I'm happy with it.

Pours a clear toasted straw color with a dense head that was rather small and which settled itno a solid ring.

The aroma is peppery with a light buttery scent. Some mineral water and rust is also detected. A bit grainy and vegetal. Not all that pleasant in the nose.

The flavor is similar to the aroma but perhaps not quite as vegetal. Again, pepper and butter are the main flavors. There is a general fruitness to the beer that goes along with a light sulfur and metallic note.

The feel is light but substantial with active carbonation. Sweet on the palate but does finish with a light grassy bitterness. A bit of a lingering aftertaste.

The style is subject to flaws since it is quite light and some flaws do come out. Too much grain, butter, and sulfur for my liking. Just a tad too many off flavors for me. Doesn't really drink clean.

A: Pours a slightly orange/honey tinged golden yellow with a one-finger fluffy head that quickly fades to a thin layer leaving good lacing.

S: Biscuity malt and a small hint of something citrus. Overall, though, this was pretty tight (and I had it at just above cellar temperature).

T: Like a honeyed buttered biscuit. The sweetness up front gives way to a slightly caramel and grainy middle with a lightly bitter finish.

M: Perfectly English. Low carbonation and medium body.

O: A great English ale. Slightly more body than the Amber.

Let it warm a bit out of the fridge. Poured with a small to medium sized off white head that settled down to a big island and a little lace. Color is a nice straw amber with lots of bubble trails. Aroma is malt, bread dough, yeast, and a bit floral. Flavor is similar to nose with nice balance between bitter, sweet, and tang. Body is good and so is carbonation. Finish is like flavor and of medium length. Session beer, not bad.

I bought a single bottle of this from Woodman's in Janesville, WI as part of a closeout deal for $3.79 in Summer 2011.

Pours a clear medium copper/amber color with a small and quickly disappearing head leaving a circle of lacing in the middle of glass. Scent is mostly of wheat with some floral scents as well mixed with some slightly bitter malts. Taste is very weak and dry. Has a semi bitter taste as well. I'm not sure if this is how the beer is suppose to taste or if has gone skunky even though there was a decent sound when I cracked open the bottle. If this is how the beer is suppose to taste it is too weak and taste is less than appealing. Considering the price you'd be better off going with a cheap macro-brew than this beer.

This beer pours a very light bodied honey gold in color with a light white lacing around the glass. The aromas are both sweet and bitter. It has a real honey tea vibe going on that is pretty appealing. The flavors are pretty similar but a little more bland. There is little flavor aside from tea leaves with a dash of sweet pale malts/honey. It's not too bad. It's easily drinkable and is pretty light in body. For 2.99 and ticking another style, it wasn't a bad pickup.

Picked up a .5L bottle at Abe's for $3. Poured a clear pale amber with a short white head. Overall, it's a pleasant session ale with a creamy smooth malt character with a hint of caramel. There's a hint of spicy hops and mild bitter finish. There's a light body, but it's still satisfying and not too watery considering the light strength. Give this a shot.

A: It certainly is Blonde, with a nice white fluffy head.
S: Smells of grain, and other earthy scents.
T: Tastes slightly better than how it smells. Grainy taste, biscuits, and slight herbal and spice notes.
M: Light bodied with moderate carbonation.
D: High drinkability due to low alcohol and light body. Highly quaffable.

Clear, colden with a slight white head that shrinks to a skim fairly quickly. Light caramel malt and lemon peel with mild English hops. Mild and clean malty flavors with a citric hop bite in the finish. Light bodied with mild carbonation. A good English session ale.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle into a standard pint.

A: Dark golden hue. Pours about a 1 finger, bubbly, white head. Settles pretty quickly. Leaves some sparse carbonation on the surface of the brew, and a beer ring around the rim. Beer ring lacing as you drink it down.

S: Light malt character. A little lemon citrus, and something of a slight floral note.

T: Tastes like smells. Very light malt character. Lemon and a bit of indistinct spice (maybe clove or oregano).

M: The malt touches the palette, and then a rubbery, dry finish.

D: This one goes down easy.

Atmosphere is okay. Decent rich golden appearance with a nice head. Nose doesn't offer a whole lot, but is not off-putting. Flavor also very light. Just not a whole lot to talk about. Overall, this is a decent quaff.
