what to say that has't been said? just to echo the sentiments of most, just a world class craft beer establishment. for my money the selection is unparalleled in the state and probably new england. if it's distributed to MA, chances are you can find it here. all the major brewers, local brewers, and notable imports are well-represented.
the beer manager was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. stopped in on a friday evening and, but for an impatient wife in the car, would have stayed through monday. walked away with some BA santa's little helper, SN ovila quad, DFH immort ale, angel's share, older viscosity, victory at sea, sculpin, to name a few. my only real criticism is that Julio's is a bit out in the sticks - 45mins to an hour from boston depending on traffic - that said, well-worth going out of your way for. highly recommended.

Very excited to stop by this establishment on my way up to Portland, ME. Very easy access off the major highway.
Walking in I was a little disoriented; beer on the right, wine/liquor on the left & middle. I spent approximately 3-4 mins browsing before I was asked if I needed help finding items, which was warranted considering their impressive selection and my probable look of beer-dazzlement. Unfortunately, they were out of HT (which they sometimes carry), but the staff was nice enough to grab something from the back that they hadn't placed on shelves yet.
So, the floor service I'd give a 4/5 for knowledge/helpfulness, but the checkout staff...A$$holes. We were literally made fun of for asking for a wine bottle case box with dividers (I was making a large purchase) over a generic beer box for 12oz bottles...I wasn't buying many 12oz bottles.
This lack of customer service was a true disappointment because the trip was an overall success. We even got a 15% case discount without asking.

I was spending the Easter weekend with family in Winchester. On Saturday morning, I decided to make the 45 minute each way trip to Westborough to visit Julio's. I'm glad I did.
It's like a supermarket of beer, wine, spirits, hot sauces, chocolates, cigars, etc. This place rules.
I was on the lookout for local New England brews that I can't get here in Philadelphia. The beer section was quite large and very well organized. Local craft beers were together as were national breweries and of course sections for European imports. The prices were quite reasonable. I ended up walking out with several bombers and two six packs and I spent less than $60. The staff was very helpful. I mentioned what I was looking for and I got some really good recommendations.
Besides the New England beers, I was able to pick up a bottle of Firestone Walker Sucaba for $15.99 which I thought was a great deal. Besides, I haven't seen it on the shelves here for sometime. In any case, I was pleased.
I'll be making a stop at Julio's whenever I pass through the area in the future.

I stopped in here a couple times in the last few months, only because I was in the area. They still have a great selection in good quantities and decent prices. Service has gone way down though.
Stopped in on a Monday a couple weeks ago and looked around for a little bit. No one around to help, so I went up to the register and asked for the Beer Manager. "Oh, she doesn't work here anymore" (don't know who she was anyway). OK, do you have an Assistant Beer Manager? "No sorry, but our Operations Manager will be in tomorrow". Nice guy helped me out eventually, but really didn't know his stuff. I remember coming in here and knowledgeable people would be climbing all over you to help you. My guess is the owner is feeling the pinch and cutting corners in the service department. How did he get retailer of the year in 2011 anyway?? Julio's is no longer the only game in town anymore.
This was my "go to" place a few years ago. I just recently moved back to Mass. and I'm amazed at how many great places have opened up around me. I used to look forward to making the trip up the Pike, dropping some cash and coming home with some treasures. No more, nothing I can't get by driving a mile or two in any direction.

All the hype...100% true. Go here. I am lucky in that I pass this place on my way towards work. That said, I would seek it out if I was in New England. The selection is incredible but the ability to buy single bottles from 6 packs is awesome. If you are a person that loves tasting new beer. This is the place to hang out.
Very large Belgian section, Germans that you don't see in New England often (Kolsches, Goses, etc.) and a massive selection of American Craft beer.
Helpful staff. Gorgeous, clean layout, ample parking. Prices are very reasonable. I WILL go here again.

Was in the Westborough Mass area yesterday (2/23/2012) and stopped in to check the place out. Large, clean store selling wine, beer and liquor. I thought the wine selection was spectacular! The beer selection is very good but IMO does not measure up to DeCicco's (Brewster, NY) considering that DeCicco's also has 12 taps that they rotate regularly. Also I'm sure there are beers available at Julio's that are not available at DeCicco's and vice versa. All in all, a pleasant place to shop, great selections, reasonable prices and very helpful and knowlegeable folks working there. A "must stop in" if you are in the area.

All I can say is WOW!!! the minute I walked in I could tell this was a MECCA for Craft Brews!!! All the Craft Brews were in one area and presented very well. Clean , neat and organized.
This was my first visit to Julio's and was very impressed!!! I begun my love of Craft Beers last summer and have found the 'place'.
The selection is amazing! Sarah, the beer manager, hooked me up with some stellar choices! Tons of rare brews- including many Belgiums that I have been searching for. Also, many other styles.
BTW... I live on the South Shore of MA and the hour long trip was totally worth it!!!

I had heard a lot about Julio's on BA and twitter. Since I work in Worcester a couple days a month I stopped in on my commute back to Boston at about 7pm. The signage was clearly visible from RT9, but it was hard to figure out exactly where to go. Perhaps I was too excited to concentrate. Either way, I got there.
Huge store upon walking in - wine, spirits, cigars and beer are what i saw. Feel was a little on the institutional side. As I was walking around the beer section one gentleman asked me if I needed help as he stocked the shelves--this was about 5min into my visit. I said I was all set.
Good selection! A good deal of Shelton Bros. distributed goods. a good selection of Mikkeller, evil twin, EPIC, though only the barrel aged IPA and 8 Wired though only one/two were in stock and they didn't have the Sauvin Saison that I bought and brought from CA that was great. They also had the most complete array of Allagash, tons of Ithaca (wish they had bottled dates on the actual six pack or bottle, was worried about freshness) and lots of other stuff. Oh yeah, FW 15 annv. too.
Prices were competitive. I picked up two Stone/Alchemist/Nik Brown/Black IPAs for $3.99 each--which I find to be the standard.
Perhaps my major negative, though I'll present it as a question, is shouldn't they have more of this stuff cooled? 75% of their craft stock is at room temp. I know we're not talking about CA here, but Sixpoint is clear about keeping their stuff cold at all times and we've all read the 101's. Does anyone else worry about this type of setup at a store?
Overall def worth a check-in and I'll be back given the ease of access with my work/commute a couple times a month.

I am extremely fortunate to work so close to Julio's and have the opportunity to stop in on the way home from to just browse and browse the intense and immense beer selection.
The store is huge, but not overwhelming and the beer staff know their stuff. If you are in Western Mass, you must go.
I have found Canadian Breakfast Stout, KBS, FBS, Maine Lunch IPA, Clown Shoes Unidragon, Pumking, Dogfish 120 minute, and then they also have great prices on the everyday goods. $12 for a 12 mixpack of Smuttynose or Sierra Nevada.

I just got back from this place a few hours ago, just finished putting away my cellarable beers. This place was awesome, worth the 45 minute drive from boston, they have the best selection i have seen in the area. I grew up outside of philly and this place is just as good if not better than some of the best bottle shops there. Some of the bottles i picked up were barrel aged angels share by lost abbey, port older viscosity, VINTAGE dogfish head beers, 4 packs of backwoods bastard and olde school barley wine among other things. There were 3 people working and although i did not ask any questions as i felt i already knew my way around, i overheard all THREE of them giving great recommendations as if they really knew there stuff, true beer advocates. On top of that they were restocking shelves, printing labels for beer information and working the register. The place is a decent size and you can get a very nice 12 pack or case here as well. HIGHLY recommended. I had to spend 250+ while here, i just had to.
