Location looks to be a typical BMC beer store from the outside, but dont despair, walking past stacked cases and some coolers there is a craft beer section. As previous reviewer notes, lights are motion sensor. The beers are stacked on utility shelves probably 10-11 shelves all with 5-6 shelves each. Great selection of singles and 6ers of US micros, imports (belgians, eastern Europe, germans) Us craft beers ranged from DFH, Stone, Weyerbacher, Smuttynose, and several others. Usually not full lineups of any, but a good mix of all. Lots of large caged and corked bottles too.
Easily could have spent more than I did, but was shopping for a sailing trip only. I did find a 4 pack of Heavyweight beers (variety Perk, LUnacy, Cinder, Stickenjab) Asked what they wanted for it and they gave it to me free. Havent tried any yet but free beer is worth the shot. Staff was friendly and helpful I was asked if I needed any help and of course the offer of beer "past its prime" for free is nice. THis is a solid destination if you are in the area, just head for the back room.

Located right off of Route 202 in Stony Point, this is a quaint little bevy. Was in the area so decided to pop in for a look.
Much of the floorspace is dominated by cases of BMC, wine and soda. Pretty tight squeeze through the stacks of booze, but I managed. There's a small rack to the left as you walk in that holds some craft beer offerings, mostly local stuff like Defiant and Captain Lawrence. Towards the back is where most of the craft lies, tucked away in a dark corner. The light is motion-sensitive and illuminates the area as you walk in. First time I've seen a system like that and I've got to admit, it's pretty nifty.
Lots of bombers and smaller packs to go around. Quality is a bit suspect, though. I found an Avery Maharaja from 2006 and some Rogue Half-E-Weizens that look like they'd been kept in a spider's nest. The GD Yetis were 2010 vintage though, go figure. Selection is fairly good, especially for the area. Lots of domestic offerings including the aforementioned Avery and Rogue, plus Stone, North Coast, Allagash and others. Quite a few foreign offerings too, including St Bernardus (both in bombers and 4pks, nice!) Unibroue and more.
Prices are reasonable. The 4pk of Rasputin I asked for is about $10, so that's par for the course around here. The only thing is that nothing is labeled, so you have to ask the help for pricing, which is slightly annoying. The guy running the counter was nice enough, but didn't seem to know too much about the beers. Was still quite helpful when I asked though, which is really all one can expect.
Overall, this is a nice little spot to pick up some craft beer. Just make sure what you're getting isn't covered in cobwebs, because it's likely outdated.

Both Route 9W and Route 202 merge in West Haverstraw and then the road travels north towards Stony Point where it is called Liberty Drive. The store is located on the left hand side of the road, just past Summit Ave. It looks like an average beer & soda distributor with cases of Miller Lite stacked to the ceiling and a paltry quantity of craft beer in the cooler. But if you wander in the back and squeeze between two display stands, there is a secret craft beer section! They have motion sensors in this back room to turn on the lights when you enter, so the beer is always kept in the dark (dont panic if the lights go out). They have loads of imported and domestic singles, as well as a considerable selection of American craft beer, including breweries like Anderson Valley, Smuttynose, Victory, Bear Republic, Southampton, etc. Some beers are a bit old, but they will tell you what is new if you ask. They have a very friendly staff and really know how to store their ales. Liberty Beer is a must stop for anyone way up in the North Rockland area.
