I drove a long way to get here from downtown Tacoma and boy is it off the beaten path. I drove here once previously only to find it closed. They have limited hours at Dicks. Once I got in I was like wow..different. I was expecting a brewpub but found myself in a smokehouse with brew all over the place. EXCELLENT!!!! Meat, meat and more meat on the menu with plenty of good Dicks beer to choose from. I like Dicks Danger and the IPA and bwine is average to good. The staff was mostly female and small, did not know much about beer, the place was small, seating was limited. I would go back if I were not so far away.
I stopped in here 4 Dec 2007 while the Centralia area was flooded. I stopped in Dicks to get an update on road closures and to drink beer when I found out that I could not get out of town because I5 and all roads out were flooded and closed. Most of Centralia was also flooded. They provided me directions to McMenamins Olympic Club where my wife and I shacked up for three days until roads opened. They wera a tremendous help and I grabbed alot great brew before I left. Great service.

Dicks is a small yet prolific brewery offering as many as twenty-one varieties of beer at any given time, virtually all of which are available in bottles. But the quality is notably improved when consumed on tap, and Dicks Northwest Sausage and Deli is the ideal location to enjoy them. Dick Young began his career making sausages and cured meats. In 1994 he opened a 15 bbl brewery adjacent to the sausage kitchen. The Deli now showcases about a dozen beers in addition to meats and cheeses.
The Deli is just that a delicatessen. Food and beer are served, but theres no bar to speak of and they close most days at 5PM (Fridays at 9). The location is fairly remote but every time I visit I note a steady steam of locals stopping in for sandwiches, stocking up on cured meats, or filling up a growler. In addition to fresh, flavorful beers on tap, my favorite part of the Deli is the small, fenced-in beer garden with its piped-in country music, giant monkey tree, and collection of heart-shaped stones.
For years now Ive enjoyed Dicks as a relaxing place to drop in on when I need to pull off the freeway and grab a bite and a pint. Service is down-home friendly, the sandwiches are satisfying, and the variety of cured meats could tempt any healthy carnivore. As they say: you cant beat Dicks meats. I would strongly emphasize that Dicks beers are much better on draught, but you can get nearly all of them in bottles at the Deli. The barleywine is a choice standout among bottled offerings and variety packs are available. Dicks also produces root beer and cola.
Look for more Dicks beers soon, as they plan on expanding to a second 30 bbl system in the near future.

Nice place - wish it was a bit closer to Olympia, but well worth the drive whenever I'm in town.
I love the sheer number of styles that Dick's makes, and usually has available here, and they do most everything well - I can't think of any bad experiences with Dick's beers. I was sad when I was told they don't put their cream stout on cask anymore - something about demand; most Dick's cask beer I have had has been the flagship Danger Ale.
I'll echo the comment that most of their beers are better on tap. Really nice Best Bitter, Double Diamond Winter, Barleywine, and tasty cream stout, porter, and of course a typically northwest hoppy IPA.
I've had some really good sandwiches here, and while their pepperoni is good and there are several varieties (I prefer the spicier stuff) I'd have to say that their beef jerky is the best (food) thing they make.
Service is extremely friendly, courteous, and does the little things - several times I've had someone behind the register wave off that I had several high ABV beers in a mix-a-sixpack, preferring to avoid the hassle and just charge me the standard price (the barleywine, tripel, and one other bottle are supposed to cost a bit extra)

Stopped by NW Sausage & Deli during lunchtime. The parking lot was completely full so I had to park out on the road. So it is a pretty popular place. The place is pretty small and a little dark towards the back where the tables are. No bar steating as all the taps are behind a deli counter so you've got to take a table.
I was a bit hesitant going into a place called Dick's, considering the possibility it was a gay bar. Then I went inside and noticed that the place was only men and almost left. But I looked again and noticed that there was a chick behind the counter and all the dudes were in flannels and baseball hats. Considering this place makes custom sausage out of your own elk or deer, I understand the heavy male presence.
This place has 10 different beers on tap. I tried quite a few types of dick's beer. You can drink your fill and have a different microbrew off the tap with each glass. Plus they have pretty much every kind to take home in the bottle, so I had to stock up.
Service was good, I would have rated it higher but they overcharged me by about 20 bucks. Apparantly they added another guys tab to mine accidently. They were cheerful about fixing it but slow and stupid about it so I had to knock their score down for this.
I didn't have any food just beer but they had sandwiches, pepperoni, jerkey, sausage and lunch type stuff.
