Poured from a bomber into a large weizen glass in high elevation Libby, Mont. Reviewed live. No bottle date readily visible.
A- Huge five-finger white head with several minute ling retention. Sticky, fluffy white lacing. Orange-brown color with high clarity. Surprisingly nice looking beer.
S- Citrusy hops, tropical fruits as well. Sugar and citrusy hops are really the most present notes. Pineapple as well.
T- Bitter. Metallic and loses the semblance of sweetness it had presented in the smell. Not an appealing flavor.
M- Light bodied, well carbonated. Average.
O- Looks amazing. Everything else is average or below.

P: 12 ozs bottle …Poured into a pint glass.
A: Cloudy unfiltered, with a golden-brassy hue…On top of the thick white head are brownish hop residue, indicating a VERY fresh beer!...Also, some fluffy rings of lacing.
S: Mint, marmalade, faint caramel, ripe pear, Orange citrus, lemon juice, light florals and grass.
T: Very smooth, deep crispness, hop bitterness… Upfront there is pineapple… lemon juice followed by leafy, dried grass, lightly toasted bread, clean caramel notes mid-palate. Finishes with pine and grassy floral…drying finishes…
M: On the fuller side of medium bodied, juicy, crisp and bitter.
O: Very clean, Very drinkable. FRESH and refreshing...A yummy, good example of a NW American IPA...Again, YUM!...Chasin' cheers :~)

A - Foamy white head of an inch or so on top of a trasparent body. The color is orange when heald to light and offers a spattering of rising carbonation. A nice lacing is laft along the glass here too.
S - Citrusy hops that I look forward to sampling.
T - Not bad my friends. Leafy hop bitterness that tastes like a good IPA tastes.
M - Goes down as easy as any IPA would.
~ This is good IPA overall. The kind I would like to sit and session with a few pals.

A-Brilliantly clear bright golden kissed copper with a thick fluffy off-white head that reduces to a thin cap and leaves thick clumps of lace.
S-Pleasant but light with mild citrus, peaches accented with a light pine aroma. Mildly sweet caramel malt balances the hop bill rather nicely.
T-Decent but for a northwest IPA this is a bit of a letdown. Maybe it doesn't aim to be a hop load IPA and given that it is 5.5% I assume it doesn't. Light pine and peaches come through from the hops with a very light maltbill backing.
M-Medium-light bodied, quite sharp and crisp with a amazingly good lingering hop profile. Becomes more dry and astringent with some warming.
D-A solid effort but falls a bit short for me. This is more like a training wheels IPA. A well designed brew in aspects of the hop to malt bill balance but overall ends a little wimpy. I certainly would not turn one away but I doubt I would seek it out in the future.

Reviewed 06/23/10
poured from bottle to new belgium tulip
A: amber in color. low to no head or bubbles. Great clarity.
S: Fruity. Very, very hoppy nose. Expect this one was dry hopped, twice. Apricots, citrus, slight pine on nose.
T: My nose deceived me. This ale has the smack of early hops, but little or no compliments from mid to late additions to wort. Low fruitfulness for a PNW IPA.
M: thinly falls around tongue. light body. dry finish.
D: Maybe my bottle was not fresh, as none of the anticipated flavors were there. On the contrary, the beta acids provided in the nose, so, I guess this IPA is just not for me.

On draft at Dive Bar, NYC.
Poured a medium copper hue with a half finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell featured a light citric hop and some round malt.
The taste consisted of an initial citrus pinch that quivkly faded into the soft cereal malt. Finish with an herbal hoppiness. Overall the flavor was a not shallow.
The mouthfeel was typical of the style.
Overall a good soft IPA.
