Appearance: Meringue-white head, fairly solid yet rough and spotty, above a plain, yellow-orange body.

Smell: Pale malts with a light fruity sweetness and a touch of sour bread, offset by a mild, herbal hop character.

Taste: Distractingly metallic - not at first, but the taste of coins comes in mid-sip and lingers on beyond the finish. Besides that it's fairly plain but not too bad, with a nice bitter/dry German Pilsener-like edge, put together from light malts and mildly spicy, resinous hops.

Mouthfeel: Very dry, very light, and well-carbonated; not too fizzy (but far from flat).

Drinkability: Pretty good! A refreshing, if flawed and unremarkable, light lager.

A beer that by far has the most branding plastered all over Brussels, the fact that it is conversely the one I'm least familiar with makes it that much more confounding to see literally everywhere.

Its appearance is sparklingly clear but pale gold with a tall off-white foam head.

I can see that its appeal is that of a slightly stronger yet still light crusher with a semisweet grape skin middle and a semi-bitter floral hop finish.

In other words, kind of like Bud Light, but less waxy and cheap tasting, and with a hair more bite.

December 2010: On tap at the Manneke Pis, Tenerife. Golden colour, moderate to small white head. Sweetish but not unpleasant aroma, notes of cider and honey. Sweetish flavour, again notes of cider and honey, very moderate hops.

7th review of the night/morning...

I have seen this so often in Belgian beer cafe's but never tried it. I think it must be the scary bull thing. Let's finally find out. I don't like the bottle, it makes me not want to drink it. It looks like a warning or a stop sign to stay away.

Quite watery appearance, aroma is not really detectable. Interesting taste. It's dry but not sweet. It's sweet but not dry. Is there any hoppiness or fruitiness? No. It's like if you remove all of the flavour from a beer and then crash the bitterness and hops into each other. But sometimes, this is exactly what a man wants, simple bitter nothingness.

It's better than most blonde beers and probably all Helles beers in the universe. But is it good? I do like the dryness. And the bitterness. It's not what I was expecting. Now I am starting to understand the bull and the redness of the bottle. The taste is more ferocious than every Belgian Quadruple that I have ever tried.

The more I drink it, the more I like it. It almost reminds me of Radeberger. Just with less aromatics. No aromatics in fact.

This absolutely is a bull with horns, in red, in a beer. Fortunately they are Belgian and not Spanish. So the bull survives. Viva la Jupiler. Merci. Sorry I don't speak Dutch in case you speak Dutch, but I think people in Belgium are so bored usually that they learn every language.

330 ml. bottle in Vientiane, Laos. Pours a straw yellow with an initial frothy head. Aroma of yeast and grain. Slightly malty taste. Basic pale lager from Belgium.

Poured from a 330ml bottle.

Pours very light yellow with a thin but dense head that disapears shortly, no lacing . Smell is of grass, slight bread and slight hops and the taste leads in these respects . The flavours are nicely rounded and balanced. The mouthfeel is decent, creamy carbonation and okay viscosity.
Overall, a solid lager , nothing complicated about it but that's no bad thing . A simple beer , pretty well pulled off.

Straight on the beat and giving’ the heat Raul is. Straight up on tap in D’s Panne, Belgium and after a long day of hiking, this is my Gatorade. It’s all well and good cuz it’s clean like before the “splash” in a wet dream.

I’ve had enough!

Go, boy!

Even though i wrote in a recent review Belgian pints tend to be watery, i went back (probably because of that lol) and bought a crate of Jupiler. I must admit it is less watery then it was in my recollection. The strongest is the aftertaste which is very bittersweet and rich and really stands out. Yes, before you know it, another bottle is empty. With 0,25 cl they are on the small side and that's why i didn't give this awesome pint 5 points!
