On tap at Pizza Port Solana Beach. Tulip.
A: Dark red, almost brown, with a small frothy white head.
S: Lots of biscuit and bready malt and little hop aroma. Malty and clean, with caramel and toasted notes.
T: Pronounced biscuit profile with a little caramel. Not much else going on, this is pretty straight forward. Low bitterness and a clean finish.
M: Medium body with lower high carbonation.
Overall: A pretty good Irish Red and to style, though I don't find the style affords much scope for differentiation. It does have ease of drinkability in its favor.

Tap @ Solana Beach. Pours clear copper with a 1 cm tall white head. Malt, straw, caramel, and nuts in the aroma. Crisp, sharp crystal malt taste. Some toffee and caramel flavors, with the omnipresent straw flavor finish. Nothing remarkable, kind of an underachiever for PP.

On tap at the Solana Beach location. This beer pours a dark red color with a slightly off white head. The head fades slowly leaving a good amount of laces. It has a malty smell to it. It smelled carmel like. I detected a good hop presence also. This beer tasted sweet. It was malty with a good hop balance. It had a slight alcohol taste to it. It also tasted slightly of caramel. It was carbonated well. This beer is medium bodied, and it goes down smooth. It leaves a caramel taste on the palate. It also leaves a slightly hoppy taste. This beer might make a good session beer. It might be a little strong, but I dont know how much alcohol was in it. The flavor was not aggressive, so it wouldnt be hard for me to drink a lot of this. If you get the chance, this beer is definately worth a try. I will probably order it again.
