This is similar to the Willamette that I had last night - getting old. Slight amount more sign of hops present here though.

I purchased a bottle of Mikkeller Palisade Single Hop IPA for $0.79 USD in Burbank, California/USA. Mikkeller Palisade Single Hop IPA has low carbonation. Mikkeller Palisade Single Hop IPA has a bitter taste of hops. People who enjoy the flavour of hops mixed with low carbonation will enjoy Mikkeller Palisade Single Hop IPA.

My 1st taste of the Mikkeller single hop series
A - Darkish, brown sugar appearance with a bit of peach hue. Finger and a half of head that sticks with the beer all the way down. Sticky lace everywhere. Lots of floating sediment. As good of an appearance in a beer as I can ever ask for..
S - Nice and hoppy
T - Hoppy, nice malt backbone, and well balanced. Not a very bittering hop. Well balanced citrus and bitter hop. Very good
M - Full bodied and well carbonated. Damn good mouthfeel.
O - It seems to have been aged a bit, I don't know..there is no bottled on date. But has almost turned into an old ale, which I love. A nice door into the Palisade hop, and a damn good beer

11.2 fl oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. This beer is definitely not fresh though, and I regret sitting on buying this beer for so long. But alas, here I have it. Another in the Mikkeller Single Hop series. Expectations are decent, since I had good results with many of the others.
Poured into a clear balloon snifter glass.
A - Pours about a finger and a half of frothy khaki foam. Body is a brown hued burnt sienna orange with lots of fine dark sediment twirling around the glass. Looks nice.
S - The smell returns me to what I really like about these beers. Lots of complexity for an IPA, especially at an old age. Earthy grassy hops, sweet malt, champagne like yeast presence, some funkiness, damp wood.
T - Taste follows the nose: sweet creamy caramelized malts, earthy bitter hops, green apples, some coppery mineral taste, & some dry chalky yeast presence. I feel like there is also some herbal spice rack note in there that I can't identify.
M - Feel ends sticky, bitter, and dry. Green apple and caramel malt on the aftertaste. Easy drinking with good carbonation.
Overall, it wasn't quite as amazing as some of the others were, but I guess I can't blame it since it's my fault for not buying it sooner. Definitely a nice showcase for this unique variety of hop. Definitely recommended if this beer is still available to you.
