(Written 8/3/2015) Pours a nice, frothy light caramel-colored head, color is a hazy amber; aroma is strong and of caramel; medium sweetness, medium bitterness; medium body. Overall, I quite enjoyed this IPA style beer, especially as it was a bit heavier on the malts than other IPAs I have had.

Pours a murky dark orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Chunks of sediment are seen floating around in the beer after the pour. Smell is of malt, brown sugar, candied citrus zest, and slight cardboard aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, brown sugar, and candied citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is definitely hoppy but a bit oxidized, so I am not sure how good of a representation this is at this point.

Serving type: bottle.

A - Poured a deep orange with a strong head and some sediment floating around.
S - Sweet and dark fruit character
T - An earthy flavor with some character of the taste
M - Fuller body and without to much bitterness
O - Mt. Hood is not a hop i know much about, it helped but this one didn't amaze.

11.2 fl oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled date present. My fourth beer from the Mikkeller Single Hop series. I couldn't decide which one I wanted to try, so I went with the one with the lowest theoretical IBUs, which was this one with a low 33 theoretical IBUs. A hop variety that I am completely unfamiliar with, although I'm sure I've drank it before.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter glass.

A - Pours just shy of three fingers of thick creamy tan head. Body color is a very dark burnt orange, borderline ruby colored body. This might be the darkest bodied out of the four I've had so far. Very nice head retention. Lots of dark yeast particles floating around. Wonderful fat sheets of lacing.

S - There is a bright lightly floral / pine hop note that jumped out at me initially, but otherwise it smells pretty similar to the others. Biscuit malts, light barrel character, caramel, vanilla. More bready than earthy though, in this case.

T - Taste is more of the same: light floral hoppiness, earthiness, caramel malt, vanilla, cream, wood character reminiscent of some barrel.

M - Feel is smooth and creamy, with light bittering earthiness lingering on the palate.

Overall, not my favorite version of the ones I've had, but the Mt. Hood hops do seem to pair well with the rest of this beer. Definitely a very tame variety of hop, that's for sure. Smooth, creamy, and highly drinkable. I look forward to trying the others.

Mikkeller Mt. Hood ---4/5.

A: Hazy orange colour, nice dense head.

S: orange, pineapple, hops, quite a bit of alcohol

T: peach, alcohol, some citrus and pineapple, hoppy, bitter finish

M: medium to thin body, low carbonation, dry but alcoholic

O: Probably my favourite among the Mikkeler single hops series I tried. Nice balance, undercarbonated.
