Ok before I get into the details of this beer, I got this because of the hype I heard about the bacon flavor. I normally do not drink smoked beers. I'm just not into them. This beer however, blew me away.
The pour into my snifter was what I expected a two finger mocha colored head and a body that was black as night. What I expect for a stout from Mikkeller. The smell was good, however I got more smoke than bacon but I can tell why Mikkeller named it the Beer Geek Bacon for the European release. There is a hint of saltiness in the smell of the smoke. Let me add there is a really strong smoke scent. I did not get any coffee at all, which was listed as an ingredient. The taste however is where this beer takes it above the good rating I gave for the prior two categories. In the flavor you get the coffee on the middle of the mouth aftertaste once the initial smokiness fades away. Again the only notion of bacon is in the aftertaste, once swallowed. There is this salty flavor that is hard to define. The mouthfeel was dry dry dry and I found this to be exceptional for this type of beer. Overall this was an amazing beer. The overall experience of the beer improved as the beer warmed and I loved the complexity. Those not into smoke should stay away it is pretty profound but for an extreme beer lover, this was great and at 7.5 it hit the spot.

Cascades very dark reddish brown to give birth to the nearly black opaque body crowned by thick deep-tan bed with great retention and stickage to the walls.
Dominant roasted grain character combines with the sweet aroma to render coffee-with-cream and chocolate impression. There's pruney dark fruit and leather while shy smokiness remains deeply buried under the base beer qualities.
Aroma transfers to the taste only this time the well integrated sooty flavor of smoked malts
steps forward enhancing the lightly burnt grain having coffee-ish charater, the later partially originates from actual coffee beans added. Overall flavor is not as sweet as the nose suggests and lacks creamy smoothness of the aroma. Herbal hop bitterness balances the malt and leads to a dry finish.
Medium-full bodied seems lighter due to moderate carbonation and not as slick as Oatmeal Stout is ought to be. Dark sludge accumulated on the bottom prevents me to finish the bottle.
Overall, a subtly smoked oatmeal stout with pronounced roasted grain qualities (500 ml, BB 03-11-2013, into tulip).

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Oct 2013. Brewed in Oct 2010; batch 557. Purchased from a Belgian webshop some time back and stored in my garage. Hope it stands up to the other Beer Geek versions I've tried.
Poured repeatedly into a Duvel tulip. Ultra-black; a klieg light wouldn't penetrate its depths. Produces a vast head of creamy mocha-brown foam with excellent retention; this slowly subsides to a surface layer. Aroma of intensely dark, roasted malt with notes of coffee, smoke, burnt grain, a hint of molasses and yes, bacon. Perhaps an undertone of hops, but it's hard to tell. Impressive.
Tastes like a truck-load of roasted malt on a death ride; coffee and smoke are signed up as partners in crime. Notes of coffee, burnt grain, smoked malt, wood, stewed leaves and a hint of molasses. A subtle bacon-like character is discernible. A mild soy sauce flavour lurks in the background, adding a twinge of saltiness and umami. The alcohol is well hidden. A powerful, astringent bitterness upon swallowing - it's all about the coffee. Mouthfeel is smooth and thick, with tingly carbonation and a lovely, velvety body. Possesses a spicy, astringent quality that dries the palate. Aftertaste of bitter coffee and roasted malt, with a hint of smoke.
Bam! This brew assaults your palate like a batallion of smoke-infused coffee ninjas, insistantly demanding your attention. Crazy stuff: coffee, rauchmalt and roasted grain all laced with soy. It's fair to say that it lives up to its name; there is more than a hint of bacon in the aroma and a whiff in the flavour as well. Overall though, the coffee and smoked malt sit uneasily together and compete rather than complement. The result is inspired but imperfect - it lacks the incredible silky smoothness of Beer Geek Breakfast. However, it remains a unique and worthy brew - don't pass it up if you see it.

A- jet black two finger crema espresso colored head with medium lacing
S- coffee toffee smokey typical stout base smell of soy sauce
T- smokey coffee pretty drinkable. a little disappointed with how much is going on. a little abitious in my opinion. would have enjoyed more without the coffee i think.
M- oily, really too thick for me. was hoping for creamy but it's kind of just straight motor oil. thankfully, not syrupy.
O- a nice beer. it was hard to drink 16 oz of it though.

One of the most interesting beers I've ever had! The smell was incredible - smokey, bacon-y, earthy, and something roasted like peat moss. The taste wasn't quite as strong as the smell, but I'd say that's because it was smooth and well-balanced. This isn't my favorite style of beer, but I'd have this brew again and again.
