Bottle from wordemupg, served in a pair of snifters and shared with a buddy. 50cl bottle, Batch 4709. Brewed Jan 11, 2009 and best before Jan 12, 2012.

Pours a sludgy and dense black, with a finger of brown head. Mild lace, with a collar and some retention. Nose has some bitter chocolate, rich coffee and some caramel notes add to a general sweetness. Taste has more of the bitter chocolate, with a fantastic coffee flavour. Caramel and something else adds to the creaminess in the flavour and in the feel. Mouthfeel is ridiculously good, huge fullness and density with a great bitterness. Very much based around the coffee, but balance and contrasted well with the sweeter and thicker aspects of the body. No alcohol whatsoever, and coffee flavours and the roastiness impart lingers. Great flavour and beside Peche Mortel as one of the best non-barrelled coffee stouts going. Fantastic.
