Poured from a 750 ml bottle into a pilsner glass. Pours a nice hazy light gold color with a massive white head. The smells are pretty good, crisp, floral, citrus. Feel is medium with decent carbonation. The taste is as it smells, crisp, nice hop bite at the end.

pleased to find this at Davidsons on county line, a new spot for me, and a new mikkeller, brilliant! billed a malt liquor, im not sure what to expect. it pours a familiar looking English malty tannish brown color, with some golden hues and an inch or two of lazy white head. the nose is malts forward, and rather alcoholic for the 8% abv its listed at, but with an interesting twist of fruit in there, oranges, candied, I don't know. the flavor agrees, malt forward, not too sweet through, with some fruit and booze on the back end. its a little thinner than I want it to be, but the flavors work really well. its got an almost pilsner malt flavor to it, dry and European, but it also has some caramel sweetness. its not complex, but it isn't simple either, sort of a hard beer to put into context. fine carbonation above a medium body. the finish is spirited, and I get a touch of brown sugar as it goes out. overall a beer worth the 14 bucks I paid for it this time, but probably not one ill buy again, despite really enjoying its grain profile and drinkability.

On-tap at Mikkeller and Friends Bar in Copenhagen. Served in a 20cl Mikkeller glass...

A: Hazy gold; white head; retention leaves some patchy sheets of lace.

S: Light resin hoppiness; citrus peel; nice hop aroma.

T: Cracker malts; light resin and citrus hops, as in nose.

M: Medium-bodied; higher carbonation; refreshing feel.

O: Whoa - this is one easy drinking imperial pilsner! Hard to believe it's 8%. I'd definitely have this again if I have the opportunity...

A - Hazy golden-orange with a finger of frothy white head. Fades normal.

S - Sweet pilsner, grainy, and slightly bready malts, grapefruit, orange, citrus, and grassy hops, lemon zest, lager yeast, and a hint of booze.

T - Grapefruit, orange, citrus, pine, and grassy hops, some bitterness, sweet pilsner and grainy malts, lemon zest, lager yeast, and a bit of booze.

M - Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Smooth with a sweet and bitter finish.

D - Nice hoppy imperial pilsner. Great overall balance.

This beer was great. Absolutely enjoyed it to the last drops; but missed it as it was gone. It seemed that it had so much more to say....
This beer hides it alcohol level so beautifully that it dances across your tongue. The lightness of the malt tones are masterfully balanced by hops and crispness. It truly makes you think of drinking any regular pilsner ever again.
The flavor with its caramel tones, dried orange peel, lemon zest, herbaceous esters, just never stop the mind thinking what's going to come next.
The head is light, frothy, lingering, white. A nice gulp of this really gives your mouth the aperitif it needs going into your first sip.

I have been interested in this style recently, and this is a good example. Looks like an IPA in the glass, the aroma has some signature lager character, but I could still pull out some dank american hops. The taste was similar to the aroma, more malt though. The yeast has a nice peppery character. This definantly feels like a belgian beer. The carbonation is incredibly crisp, flirting with saison territory. It has a silky and robust mouthfeel, coats the inside of your mouth with velvet, kind of hard to believe its a lager.

Overall, this was a very interesting beer, it is rather expensive, and a double IPA will quench your hop thirst more, no doubt. But this is definantly worth a try, one of the most complex lagers I have ever come across.

Pours an orange color with little head & a little lacing. Big peppery character to the nose. Taste starts with a blast of hops, chased by some breadiness and a hint of sweetness. Feel leaves a little something to be desires, with no carbonation to speak of. It's too smooth for a pilsener but it still has a bite from the alcohol. An interesting beer, worth a shot, but for me it's another one of those expensive beers I took a chance on and probably won't try again.

330ml bottle poured into tulip 19/9/12

A hazy orange with a few slowly moving bubbles feeding a well sustained two fingers of off white foam that leaves lots of unorganized lace

S sweet fruits, candied pineapple and brewers candy with some hard toffee and a nice little hop kick, fairly sweet and some faint booze

t more grains with some pine resin and citric rind, has a slight lager flavor peeking through, yeast? but its faint, sweet again with a little more booze then the nose

M its just a little hot but other then that no problems, medium-light with good carbonation and a lingering aftertaste of rind

something different but a nice hopped up boozy lager, IPAish but faint lager yeast and shes a little sweet. BB date well down the road makes me wonder but I only found one bottle so I'll never know
