Bottle: Pours hazy with a deep yellow body with an off-white head. It has a very complex, hoppy aroma, with orange and citrus fruits. Very hoppy and grassy flavour, fruity with lemon, grape, orange and apricot notes. Full bodied. It has a very long and bitter finish. Very tasty!

Poured into a tulip glass, a very pretty beer, a medium caramel gold colour, really good retention and lacing. Aromas are mostly spicey and hop forward, some nutty malts. A bit of yeast as well adding an interesting dimension. Taste-wise I found this an interesting take on the style, still lots of hops but much less of the grapefruit citrus hopiness, more toward the spicy, zesty, almost earthy profile, balanced together quite well. A very drinkable mouthfeel, some of the coating yeastiness that mikkeller does so well. A very nice beer, I would look to get it again if it were reasonable. An interesting departure rather than an imitation of the american styles, and a rather nice beer in its own right.

500ml Bottle - Thanks to Lubiere for sharing
Appearance - Hazy copper colour with a small size frothy off-white coloured head. There is a low amount of carbonation and there is some faint lacing. The head lasted for 5 minutes.
Smell - Malts, caramel, hops, grapefruit, pineapple, dark fruits?
Taste & Mouth - There is a below average amount of carbonation and I can taste hops, malts, and caramel. There is also some pineapple and something along the line of raisins. It ends with a malty sweet aftertaste with only a bit of hop bitterness.
Overall - This bottle might have been past it's prime. Most of the Mikkeller beers I've had don't have dates clearly labelled. The ink on the cap with the best before always rubs off. Oh well, still glad to have tried.

(From a hollow-stemmed goblet)
Appearance: Stateside IPA pours a foggy tangelo with a finger-thick head which reduces to a thin ring.
Smell: The beer's hops are very evident in the nose. Behind the piney hops, the grapefruit joins the party with some nuts as a complementary sidekick. The beer finishes with a malty profile and the hops hang on 'til the end.
Taste: Stateside IPA is boldly and drily hoppy. As with the nose, the grapefruit is supported by the nuts, and I think there might be a hint of peppers in there too.
Mouthfeel: I find the beer very light but also smooth, and the carbonation is light too, which suits the whole experience nicely.
Overall: This excellent IPA manages to be bold and yet well rounded. It's a very good drink.
