Bottle into a pint glass.

A: Lots of large-bubbled brown head--three or four fingers-worth. Settling slowly, leaving only a bit of lacing. The body is an opaque brown.

S: Sweet, vanilla, coffee notes. Like a nice, fresh-ground, dark-roasted cup of coffee. A bit creamy--would work well with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

T: Solid coffee flavor with just enough sweet, malty balance. The oatmeal really comes through, too. Not terribly complex, but well-executed coffee flavor in an oatmeal stout, exactly as advertised. The lingering taste perfectly mimics a regular cup of fairly strong joe.

M: Very good, full-feeling oatmeal stout. It might even be a little highly-carbonated for the style, but I think it works. Very much in style.

D: Pretty high. Not too boozy, great feel, and an overall well-executed coffee stout. The oatmeal gives it much better balance than, say, Black Hole from this same brewer.

500ML bottle poured into a pint glass.

extremely dark brown, close to black. head is medium and apparent. Look is almost perfect. Strong coffee aroma on the nose. Taste is an abundance of roasted coffee and oats. Slight chocolate too. Mouthfeel is medium carbonation, not too thick and not too light. Just where it should be. Alcohol i snot apparent whatsoever. I'm really a fan of this type of beer, FBS being one of my faves, and this is a great substitute. This is an outstanding beer.
