From notes, Reviewed as part of a Wig-and-Penathon tasting Sat Oct 1st , between myself and mrs heygeebee
Pours a deep honey gold into a brandy balloon. No head - light lacing.
Aromas of paw paw, lychee, cloves.
Taste as smell, but add citrus.
Mouthfeel is light for ABV.
Overall, in Duvel territory, but not quite there.

310ml glass from The Local Taphouse, Darlinghurst.
Pours a pure, clear golden colour with a white head of foam that dwindles after not too long. Streaky lacing. Really nice colour to it!
Smell is quite yeasty with a good deal of pear. Some spice too, am thinking ginger, but not overly strong. Smell whilst nice, vanishes too soon.
Taste follows suit with what the nose picks up, plenty of yeast, nice hop background breaks it up with some bite and the pear is still there as well.
Full mouthfeel, plenty there with the hops, spice and decent body. All seems to work in well together.
Quite a good beer which fits in very well with the many other batches out of the first 2000 that Richard Watkins has done to a similarly good standard!

Brilliantly clear golden colour with a smooth white head. Poor head retention and some very good lacing.
Bright spicy aroma with some light pear and citrus notes. A little bit too light on the whole.
Very soft malt with plenty of yeast character. The spicy clove phenols work well with a bright, citrus, pear and mild dried apricot note. Really well balanced and delicious.
Medium body with moderately-high carbonation. Very good.
A well crafted BSPA with the yeast control shown by the brewer being very good. If anything, the aroma is not strong enough but the balance is definitely there and that is very important.
