nice orange bomber...
eyes...
2 fingers of head on a careful pour, slightly off white head populated by micro bubbles that produce some really nice lacing on down the glass, carbonation is at a good clip keeping the head well fed and buoyant on the surface, clean orange hue is consistent throughout the glass, nice looking brew !
nose...
you can smell this one at arms length, sort of a roasty earth tone with that semi sweet fruit note that smacks of pumpkin, notes of pumpkin spice float on the overall aroma here, damn, I should have had this with thanksgiving dinner ! absolutely delicious smell, I'm not a huge fan of pumpkin flavors in general (in pie form etc) but this just is devilishly inviting, the aroma is consistent and balanced, nothing is out of place here, the freshness is apparent, outstanding.
taste etc...
the mouth feel is really nice, the carbonation carries this perfectly, although the carbonation is there there is a 'flat' taste in there somewhere for me, I get the spice notes in the aftertaste but the initial offering is a bit strange to me, kind of a dirty sugary-ness if that makes sense, almost a bit cloying at times, you can sense the ABV just a hint at the end which mixes nicely with the spice notes (cinnamon, nutmeg). you are left with the spice/hop afterglow which really does remind me of some pumpkin desserts.
verdict?
still not loving the style but this was a valiant effort and you can taste it, not for me but worth trying as it really does have some stellar points

750ml Bottle from the Ottawa LCBO for $10.00
Appearance - Copper with a large size fizzy off-white e coloured head. There is an average amount of carbonation showing and there is some fair lacing. The head lasted for around 3-4 minutes.
Smell - Malts, all-spice, pumpkin
Taste & Mouth - There is an average amount of carbonation and I can taste caramel, malts, all-spice. There is also a decent amount of pumpkin and some cinnamon. It ends with a sweet and spicy aftertaste.
Overall – One of the better pumpkin beers I've had. It's not over the top like ST Pumking but it's also not boring/thin like some of the other pumpkin beers are. My bottle was 7 months old and was still drinking very nicely.
