Got this beer also at Yardhouse poured into a pint glass.

This beer is very light yellow is color with a very small amount of light head. It's almost fully transparent, with slight carbonation.

The smell is very interesting. Has a spicy and tangy smell to it with a little bit of hoppyness to it.

The taste is suprisingly abundant for how light this beer is. Lots of spice and a bit of hops.

I could drink this beer all day long but I don't think I'd really want to. I would lilt it to have a bit more flavor and punch to it.

Reviewing from memory - from previous night. On Tap into pint glass.

A: Amber / dark honey color -- it may have been lighter but the lighting was dim at the bar. Noticeable carbonation and one finger head.

S: Some sweet malts, and light pine hop bitterness.

T: Sweet maltiness, some citrus hop bitterness. Maybe some peppery/spiciness in there too.

M: Medium/lighter body. Light carbonation. Crisp and a little dry.

D: Nice aroma and flavors. You can slug this one back. I had a several of these at the bar.

This beer is gold in color. When it is poured it has your typical white foam head. The beer is flora in aroma from the juinper berries. A balanced, crisp, clean malt flavor. And has a slight spicy flavor and a heavy dose of floral junipers at the end. Easy to drink.

Poured a hazy dark copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate floral hop and small malt aroma. Medium body with a dry texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy spicy bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

Pours a slightly hazy, golden color. 1/3 inch head of a white color. Good retention and decent lacing. Smells of strong spice (juniper), slight wheat, slight hop, hint of sweet malt, and a hint of yeast. Fits the style of a Herbed/Spiced ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong spice (juniper), slight sweet malt, slight hop, and a hint of yeast. Overall, very strongly spiced, as far as Juniper beer goes, it's the best I've had ... and only.

A: A lager-like appearance, showing a yellowish gold with a fluffy off-white head that laces itself down the side of the glass.

S: There wasn't a lot to smell here, some faint malts and an ester-y alcohol tinge.

T: A nice bitter start, which quickly lead to some reserved but roasty malts, and then little aftertaste.

M: The mouth feel seems to be where the hops come through, very immediate in the initial bitterness and carbonation, but leaving little behind.

D: Not at all unpleasant, but not enough here to make me crave more.

I had Rogue's Yellow Snow on tap at the Brew Kettle on 12/23/2008. They served it to me in a standard pint glass.

Yellow Snow didn't pour a yellow color. It instead poured a lightly hazy golden amber color. On top of this gold amber brew was a good 1/2 an inch head of pure white foam. This head of foam had decent retention that left behind a string of foamy white rings, one single streak of lace, and a hand full of white spots of lace.

The aroma was mildly hoppy with candied tart grapefruit, a touch of bitter citrus hops, a quick splash of pine needles, a few citrus fruits, and then this aroma finishes up with a small touch of sweet candied yeast. It could have used a small dash of toasted malts, but it was fine where the aroma stood.

This IPA wasn't going to mess around. It started off with the bitter and dry citrus hops. The hops strength wasn't mild or strong. The hops were smack dab in the middle of being mild and strong. After the hops calm down, in comes some tart grapefruit, a few citrus fruits, a splash of lemon zest, and a subtle touch of toasted caramel malts. Don't expect for your taste buds to be assaulted by hops.

This was a medium bodied beer that contained a medium sized hoppy aftertaste of bitter and dry citrus hops, juicy citrus fruits, a hint of toasted malts, and a splash of lemon zest. These hops in the aftertaste will linger on for a few minutes.

This is one of Rogue's better beers. I didn't have problems with it. I might go for another one these. A growler of this might be too much for me. A draft pint or a 22 oz bomber bottle should be sufficient.

On tap poured into pint glass

a: hazy straw yellow color, minimal head that does reduce into lacing

s: citrus aroma and hops dominate

t: slight malt sweetness quicly overpowered by hop bitterness. Slight citrus bite. Very nice, definatlty for hop heads though

m&d: medium bodied, with decent carbonation. Can be a session beer if not imtimidated by hop bitterness

Cheers!!!

Had as Yellow Snow Ale.

Pours a clear orangy amber with an off-white head. Rich, malty, spicy and slightly hoppy aroma is quite appetizing. Flavor is malty and spicy and surprisingly hoppy, more so than the aroma suggests. Texture is pleasingly smooth.

A- Poured a golden yellow color, with a small head that didnt last very long, some lacing

S- grapefruit, orange, I didnt really catch the juniper berry's in it

T- Not overly hoppy but I still can't smell or taste anything special, good balance

M- Crisp, clean

D- Very easy to drink, will probably get again when I see it.

On tap at Summits, Snellville, GA. Served in a traditional American pint glass.

Appearance: A slightly hazy-yellow orange beer with a half-finger of average-retention white head that leaves solid sheets of sticky lacing. Yellow snow indeed!

Aroma: Similar to the mouth (see below), though with a little more of a malt edge - mainly just grass, light pine, simple sweetness, light citrus. A very simple tasting beer.

Taste: Surprisingly nondescript. Malty, biscuity, largely neutral, with a piney, slightly citrusy hop note. Not a lot of bitterness, nor a lot of hop notes, and the malt profile isn't very good, either.

Mouthfeel: Medium level of effervescence, an average body, and a little uneven. Pretty average.

Drinkability: A surprisingly unenjoyable beer - not much at all going on here. Not that anything was offensive: just very bland. Give it a try if you must, but I likely won't be havin' it again.

$3 pint special at the Long Room.

Pale gold with a slight haze. Thin cap of foam, the lacing was nice looking, it formed in concentric rings down the glass. Typical pale ale aroma of light bready malt. Really hard to pull out the juniper based on smell alone.

Light bodied with a decent feel, pale malt, caramel, a dry finish with a bare hint of pine and herb. I haven't tasted juniper berries before, but there wasn't much in the way of fruit, just dry herbals with a mild element of bitterness.

This was an easy pint to drink, refreshing and fairly well put together.

On tap @ Circa

Appearance- Pours a nice amber color with a medium sized and medium bodied tan colored head that laces the glass very nicely on the way down.
Smell- Smells of sweet malts, some juniper spicyness, some citrisy hops.
Taste- nice mix of the flavors. The malt base is good and made better by some earthy and citrisy hop flavors and some spicy juniper berry taste at the end.
M- Very nice feel to it with the right amount of carbonation could have had a little more body to it
D: Very drinkable, dont know if i would order it again, left me wanting more flavor

On-tap 8/7/08 at Doherty's East Ave Irish Pub in Pawtucket, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light amber color, with a decent-sized off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of light malts, spice and some hops.

T: The taste starts out with flavors of spice and caramel, along with a good hops bitterness. The malt character is on the thin side. The after-taste is slightly spicy and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean and dry.

D: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, it's a little bit different from your regular pale ale and is a decent lighter beer to drink, but there are several beers I would pick first.

A - Tangerine-tan color with soapy looking head. Good lacing not quite opaque.

S - Hop aroma and orange fruit.

T - Hops and malt fruit mango orange juiciness. Faint juniper lingering bitter finish.

M - Thick, rich sticky body. Bristling hop sizzle at finish.

D - Hop bite in finish keeps it from being super drinkable, but that's Rouge.

Haven't seen this beer in ages. On tap at Max's today.

The beer pours a rich honey color with fair head retention and minimal lacing. Don't get a lot on the nose, just a hint of citrus and juniper. On the palate this is an impressive beer. There is considerable hoppy bitterness, which is even more pronounced on the finish. The beer is on the dry side, but has enough malt to keep everything in balance. The beer has a medium bodied mouthfeel and a decent, bitter finish. Frnakly, I'm surprised by the abv., as it really tastes like a pretty big beer.

A solid beer from Rogue.

Poured a golden yellow color with meidum thick white head that lingered well and left okay lacing. Had this on tap at Taco Mac while eating spicy foods, so it was difficult to pick out any outstanding nose or taste. Mouthfeel was a bit tnagy, yet offset slightly by malty sweetness.

This is a smooth drinking, full-bodied beer that goes rounds to a nice finish, and would make an excellent session beer.

Had this on-tap at the Rogue brewpub...in the Portland Airport no less.

Crystal clear pale golden with a faint head.

Mild sweetness in the aroma. A bit of citrusy hops, with a nice light malt presence. Light earthy spice. I live in cCntral Oregon, which is freakin juniperland. I know a juniper when I smell (or taste?) one, and ths beer does not have a big juniper profile.

Nice hop bitterness, almost an IPA.

Mouthfeel is light, and drinkability is superb. A real nice brew!

The look is Amber yellow with a nice head. The aroma is of malts, herbs, spices and background notes of light hops and pepper. The taste is lightly malted, spicy and sweet. The carbonation is good and the overall feel is a nice clean finish with less hops than expected but a grainy texture.
Notes: I had this brew at David Copperfield's and it was ok,nothing bombastic and nothing to reget over ordering it. I would have it again but not in a hurry to do so.

Review based on tasting notes from '07 Knoxville Brewers Jam.

Poured a clear gold with a pale head. Hop-forward smell, although I missed the juniper here. The taste brought out the juniper for me, but this is a hop-heavy beer. Sharpness in the mouthful and a medium to light body. Overall, this is a nice (the good nice, not the bad "nice") choice in terms of drinkability. Different and worth trying

Appearance: Lightly hazy, pale golden body with a small white head.

Smell: Mild aroma with a vague biscuit character and notes of pine and citrus.

Taste: Slight dry, biscuity maltiness with a touch of caramel sweetness. Piney, citrus hop flavors with a medium amount of bitterness. The meager juniper flavor comes in right when the bitterness hits and is rather obscured by it. Heck, if the beer didn't have "juniper" in the name, you might miss it altogether. Light, lingering bitterness on the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Drinkability: Maybe I need to lighten the fudge up, but unless the juniper berries ever decide to drop by, I say just skip this one.

Bartender served with a head that looked more like lacing. Dark olden in colour, and fairly clear. The Juniper flavour seemed to get lost in the excessive hoppinness early on. Not much malts, and it finished off a little disappointing to be honest. It did look and smell nice, if only the flavour had more resembled its appearance. Interesting, but nothing to write home about.

A- Golden yellow color with minimal head, but what is there is bright white. Totally transparent. Lacing is somewhat present on the sides of the glass.

S- Sour hops. Also, some floral and citurs smells there, but not alot like most pale ales. Caramel is very light, but is also present.

T- Semi bitter hops. Citrus and florals are there as specified in the nose.

M- Low carbonation (possibly from the tap) and is oily.

D- Does not go one way or another. Just average to me.

Overall- Just Ok. Decent ale, but is somewhat watery to me. It may be because this was from the tap, but I will definitely give another try to distinguish if this is indeed true.
