22oz Rogue Bomber poured into a Guinness pint glass. I bought two and definitely didn't like the first one that I only gave 2 hours to chill, so I had the other after it had chilled properly. The result was the same.

Vigorous tightly bubbled head that dissipated quickly to a soapy foam that doesn't cling to the glass at all, capping a straw colored beer with a slight chill haze.

Smell is faintly hoppy, but for the most part smells "clean" without any potent odors in any way, shape, or form.

Slightly "skunky" hop flavors upfront that linger through a very faint maltiness and fairly pronounced (for a lager) strawlike yeast profile. In fact as this beer warmed the yeast character became quite overpowering, more than any other character of this beer.

This beer has a fizzy character and lean, watery body - as to be expected from the style. That being said, the strong yeasty flavor was not one for me to savor.

Personally I feel there are plenty of beers characteristic of this style, this beer could use a bit stronger of a malt profile to compare, and maybe a different choice or quantity of hops.

From a 22 oz bomber to a pint

A: The brew displays a clear, lager-style straw-yellow, with a slight golden hue. On a gentle pour a sudsy, 1-inch head forms that never fully recedes, sticky lacing everywhere.

S: Gentle nose with touches of earthy vinous hops at the front, a crackery, slightly sweet malt note wraps the bouquet.

T: Really singular flavors as the bitter and sweet aspects are barely distinguishable. Grainy, buiscuity malts quickly converge with a tea-like hop-dryness, revealing a cracker-like profile. Touches of citrus and white pepper add a layer of complexity, but just barely. The finish is remarkably succinct with almost no residual flavors.

M: Light-medium body, foamy for the style. Lots a carbonation in this brew, on a couple of sips I thought it was a nitro-tap.

Rogue has been disappointing in many of its recent offerings, but not here. This isn't a style that I'd clamor over, but I'd drink this brew whenever it's offered.

A: The beer is relatively clear light yellow in color and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a finger high frothy white head that has good retention properties and consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Light to moderate aromas of pale malts and yeast are present in the nose.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell and seems like a "light" version of Czech Pilsener with notes of pale and grainy malts plus a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and seems to be a lot more flavorful compared to other beers in the style, especially since there are no adjunct malts. It was a nice selection for an unseasonably warm spring day.

Poured from a 650ml bottle. This pours a saturated rich yellow colour. The nose has clean grainy malt notes with a hint of citrusy hops. Taste features lemony hops and a good dry lager taste. There's a slightly bitter finish. Crisp, refreshing mouthfeel.
