A: The beer is relatively clear light yellow in color and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a finger high frothy white head that has good retention properties and consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Light to moderate aromas of pale malts and yeast are present in the nose.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell and seems like a "light" version of Czech Pilsener with notes of pale and grainy malts plus a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and seems to be a lot more flavorful compared to other beers in the style, especially since there are no adjunct malts. It was a nice selection for an unseasonably warm spring day.

Poured from a 650ml bottle. This pours a saturated rich yellow colour. The nose has clean grainy malt notes with a hint of citrusy hops. Taste features lemony hops and a good dry lager taste. There's a slightly bitter finish. Crisp, refreshing mouthfeel.

Served on tap in a pint glass

Appearance – Served a light golden yellow colored brew with a foamy one finger white head. The head has a moderate level of retention, fading slowly over time to leave a light level of lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma is grainy and citrusy. A biscuit smell is mixed with some lightly toasted malt smells as well as a grapefruit and lemon citrus smell.

Taste – The taste begins with some of the grainy flavor that was detected in the nose. There is a light amount of sweeter orange citrus as well as some light caramel taste. Upfront there are some lighter flavors of grapefruit mixed within as well. The grapefruit isn't huge upfront, but this changes as the flavor advances further. More toward the middle and the end of the taste, a somewhat sour lemon and grapefruit hop flavor comes to the tongue. These give the brew a rather bitter and sour taste. At the very end a grassy flavor joins the mix leaving a rather odd sour but grainy and grass flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer on the average side in terms of its creaminess and thickness as well as rather average in carbonation. A bit more carbonation and a slightly thinner body may have suited better the sour flavors of the brew, but overall the feel was pretty decent.

Overall – I was not expecting the tastes that were in this beer. Although it is not one I think I would frequent, it has a relatively interesting citrus and sour flavor that make this one a try.

Appearance:
Pale golden color, slight haze. Tons of fine bubbles rising up. Thick frothy head.

Aroma:
Spicy noble hops. Sweet pale malts. Lemony. Crisp.

Taste:
Pale malt, bready, cracker, wheaty. Hop bitterness is medium, mainly spicy-herbal, a little lemony. Bitter-crisp finish. Body is light, crisp, refreshing, dry, lively carbonated.

I poured a bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance- Clear golden color with a fingers worth of white head. Fair amount of lacing.

Smell- Sweet malt aroma with some notes of apples and grassy hops.

Taste- Bread-like malt flavor with some herbal hop bitterness and a light hint of citrus.

Mouthfeel- Light bodied with a average amount of carbonation. Smooth and crisp with a bit of a dry finish.

Overall- A very good beer, not very complex, but very tasty.

Had this beer on tap at 45 North poured into a pint glass

A- Pours golden in color with minimal white head and little retention.

S- Smell is sweet and malty with a little bit of a cider aroma as well.

T- Taste is sweet and malty with the slightest bit of hop bite to it as well. Smooth and easy all the way down.

M- Light bodied, crisp, and smooth. Could probably drink it all day.

O- This would make a very nice session beer. It is not very complex, but overall is smooth and tasty. I would have no problem putting down a 6-pack of it.

Poured into Monchshof half liter mug from the bomber, color is birght gold/pale straw, nicely effervescent, almost dense looking from the wheat; head presents 2" thick then dissipates but clings very nicely.

Smell is grassy, vegetal, lighter pilsen notes, subdued notes and scents but well done.

Taste is refereshing, great mix of pilsen malt flavors, some bread and wheat notes; light crispness (acid malt?), and great hop balance

Mouthfeel is light, crisp and flavorful, pilsen, wheat and acid malts create unique texture with a more crisp and biting mouthfeel than most euro pale lagers - sets this beer apart.

Overall, very well done, exceptionally tasty lager style beer with some great malt alternatives to provide unique flavor and mouthfeel.

Props to my bro for shipping this bad boy my way...

A - Pours a nice clear golden colour, finger of head with decent retention and no real lacing.

S - Scent is bready, with hints of grassy hops, and a touch of citrus on the finish.

T - The bready malt notes dominate, offering up a touch of butter followed by the grassy hop notes and a bitter citrus rind lingers on the finish.

M - Medium bodied, smooth and a touch of dryness on the finish.

O - A tasty euro pale that hits the flavour profile and satisfies your quench for thirst. A worthy offering and would be easily sessionable on tap.

A scally-capped, penny-whistle playing old man adorns the 22 oz. bottle of Rogue’s Irish Style Lager.

It pours a golden yellow, leaving a trail of sticky white lace. The aroma is spicy, full of herbal hops, with hints of yeast and tart fruits. And of course, that metallic and skunky lager smell that I love so much.

A mild malt sweetness provide a very even flavor. Slightly lemon-y and full of grassy hops; it is smooth and crisp, with a very clean feeling that surprisingly doesn’t remind me of drinking the dregs out of the bottom of a keg. The finish is dry and tart, followed by a bread-like graininess.

The light-medium body has a fairly high level of carbonation. Feels very spritzy. Overall, this seems a very drinkable and accessible beer. Some may say that it’s boring, especially with Rogue’s reputation, but boring doesn’t necessarily have to mean bad. It’s a simple yet well-done beer, and I can appreciate it for that.

Poured very cold from the bottle. This lager has a dark gold colour to it, much darker than most lagers. It is also cloudy, similar to a hefeweizen in appearance. The head was white and foamy, like most lagers and didn't last long. The smell sweet and fruity, like a sweet apple. The taste is not as sweet as the smell leads on and is very crisp and refreshing. It is less bitter than most lagers and has an apple-ish finish. All-in-all a slightly different, but great lager from Rogue.

Would I buy it again? Absolutely... and have numerous times. One of my favourite American lagers.

A - Poured into imperial pint glass with white two finger head. Gold in color and hazy..

S - smells acidic, cidery, light malts, citrus hops.

T - really light taste with a bitter finish, not much in the way of flavoring hops, has a crisp cereal malt character in the background but cider dominates to an unpleasant degree.

M - medium body and carbonation.

O - finish is too cidery and the experience was not enjoyable, not sure if this taste is what the brewer intended or the bottle is bad.

Smells like golden delicious apples.
Mild taste overall. A bit of bitterness... nothing else.

Kells Irish Style Lager poured a golden copper color, with a large foaming head. There was a strong crisp apple aroma. The taste had a rather strong apple flavor, with just a bit of hoppyness coming through. Slightly watery, but nicely carbonated. Overall I found this beer rather unique. It was like a nice carbonated apple juice with just a hint of bitterness.

Received a 22 bottle as a gift. No complaints on beer for gifts!

Appearance is golden, clear, nice head. Heads goes down quick, but the white will stay for a while. Appearance is maybe a little more orange/gold than your usual Coors/Miller beers.

Smell - Hops and malts...nothing to write home about.

Taste - Crisp, a bit fruity. Not sure why this is considered Irish...maybe it is a bit like Harp.

Mouthfeel - Light beer. Could throw these down at a picnic in the heat all day.

Overall I expected more. I'm not the biggest Rogue fan, but with all the competitors out there, and Rogue being one of the bigger craft beer companies, you would think they would have produced something better.

-Pretty much looks like your ordinary pale lager.
-Short head.
-Aroma has that crisp malt note and some very airy hops in the back.
-Taste is akin to a regular pale lager, but with much more malt in the finish and aftertaste. A bit of hop bitterness washes along the carbonation. Also a bit of bitterness peeping around in the aftertaste.

The main showcase is the malt backbone and the interesting notes of bitterness. Very drinkable.
Everything else is pretty much just like your run-of-the-mill pale lager.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a Stella Artois glass...

Head was minimal-lasting crystal white with a pebble-sandy looking texture. The scent was strong and lingering of old-forest pine.

Taste initial was of citrus tangerine and light perfume. Finished with a slight moldy feel in the mouthfeel. A slight hay taste from the malt as well... expresses itself more as the lager warms up. Despite buying it at the market sitting outside of the refridgerator, a green bottle skunk taste was un-apparent.

Pretty good beer, not quite what I expected. Just wished I had some better food prepared for it! ...

Pours pale orange with a good size head. Flavor is underwhelming, so much so that "average" might be an overstatement. Nothing here would have indicated to me that this beer was of an "Irish Style", or any particular style whatsoever. Not offensive, but it offers nothing redeeming, either. Maybe I'd be less critical if I hadn't recently had Great Lakes' Irish offering; unfortunately for Rogue, I have.

Vibrantly straw in color with bright white head good clarity and lots of visible carbonation. Fuller in body than expected with a big buttery malt profile. Buttered burnt toast comes to mind. Good lacing. Very clean finish profile but with a slightly dirty stringiness up front. Better in flavor and more put together than most other lagers I be had. Nothing crazy but good and easy drinking. would rather have it in 6 packs though but not at rogue 6 pack price.

Thin white head and no real lace in a clear straw body. Aroma is mostly pale malt but distorted by the odor of the bar. Flavor is initially sharp with pale malt, piney with sour lemon notes. Light body and moderate carbonation. A little too sharp and sour which affects the drinkability.

Poured from a bomber into a tumbler pint, the beer is a pale, yellow-gold coloring with a steady, slow stream of carbonation bubbling and a low profile, frothy, white head that quickly settles into a sparse, uneven, filmy coating. Aromas of toasted grains and a slightly sour, floral highlight. Flavors are light, but sharp, with the toasty grains/cereal giving a good, solid backbone that support the sour tang and bitter hops at the end of the palate. The carbonation ends up giving a sharp, almost astringent feel along with the flavor profiles. The aftertaste is bitter and slightly sour, leading to a resiny, slick, and lingering finish. Not my favorite, that is for sure.

Appearance - pours a beautiful, clear golden color, with a frothy white 3-finger width head, which stays for a good few minutes.

Smell - Tart apple, very subtle hop and malt.

Taste - A lot of crisp grassy notes, but the promise of apple in the smell is faint in the taste. Subtle hop bitterness. Nothing offensive in the flavor, but nothing stands out, either.

Mouthfeel - Light body. Smooth, but just feels a bit under-carbonated; nothing to tickle the tongue, and I feel it should be there.

Overall - This is a well-balanced lager, but I expected more tartness and bite. I drank it once years ago and thought it was decent. It doesn't look like much has changed.

Poured a 2" white head with medium life. The body is a clear straw yellow color which would pass for standard BMC lager. There's almost no smell at all, even after it fully warmed. The taste although consistent with BMC lagers is a little sweeter and yeastier. The body is much creamier than average. And it's capped off with a standard crisp lager finish.

Poured from bomber into pint glass:

A: Very pale yellow. I don't see too many beers with this kind of clarity. Pretty sticky lacing. Average head, nothing special there.

S: Grassy notes. Smells identical to your typical light lager, which is pretty much a turnoff for me. Maybe it's the style, but it's not my favorite smell.

T: Surprisingly delicious after the smell. Buttery and refreshing. Caramel notes on the end.

M: Smooth, lower carbonation. Flows very well across the palate.

O: The taste and mouthfeel saved this one for me. After I made the pour, viewed the beer, and smelled it, I was a bit worried. Luckily Rogue came through with a tasty and satisfying brew.

Poured into a standard pint glass. The beer is a hazy wheat yellow, not unlike an unfiltered wheat beer. The white head dissipates to a thin film with sticky lacing. Smells of faint banana peel, wheat? The beer tastes crisp with hints of orange peel, banana peel, yeast and wheat. But this does NOT taste like a fruit beer -- the taste is fairly hard to describe actually. But there is a sweetness to it. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and finishes with a hop presence.

Overall, I guess I was expecting an Irish red? What I tasted here was a wheat beer. But what do i know about names and categories. I guess it is a Euro Pale Lager though. It's got an orange/wheat sweetness that makes it very easy to drink. Glad I tried it, but I won't revisit this anytime.
