look: 4.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3 | overall: 3.5
Appearance:
Deep amber color, hazy. Lots of bubbles. Thick head. Lacing looks awesome on the glass.
Aroma:
Fresh hops. Citrus, orange, a little grapefruit. Sweet malts. Bready, caramel, touch of honey.
Taste:
Sweet maltiness up front along with dry hoppiness at the end. Malt is pretty sweet, but very nice. I’m getting caramel and biscuity with a touch of honey. Hop is fresh, but very dry. Citrus-leafy, slight earthy. I could detect some peppery in the mid-palate. Very dry body. Carbonation is low.
Finish:
Dry finish and aftertaste.
Overall:
It’s a good beer. Love the malt and hop character, well balance. The body is way too dry for my palate.

The beer pours a murky reddish/ burnt orange color with a frothy. thick, offwhite head. It smells like a caramel candy covered in milk chocolate with just a hint of citrusy hops in the background. The taste is more about the hops than the malt. I detected a good amount of grapefruit and orange peel up front with some caramel malt in the middle and a nice bitter finish. It has a medium body with moderate carbonation and a slightly dry finish. I liked this beer and would drink it again but thought the flavor could of been more balanced with the malt and hops, the malt really took a backseat in the taste test.
