Appearance - Pours a deep, dark and hazy auburn brown with an off-white, 3 finger head. Excellent retention, leaving a strong layer of microbubbles to coat the surface. Lacing is strong all around the glass, with great stick.
Smell - Classic Rogue aroma. Light roast malt aroma hits on chocolate and caramel, and plays nicely along with earthy and citrus hop undertones.
Taste - Mellow chocolate malt is most prevalent upfront. Lesser notes of caramel and a woody character soon follow. Hops come in around mid-taste, guns blazing with orange and grapefruit zest, resulting in a nice citrus pith bitterness ringing nicely in the aftertaste. Shows great overall balance.
Mouthfeel - Medium to full body with moderate carbonation. Silky smooth texture. Goes down smooth as hell.
Overall - Somewhat similar to their Santa's Private Reserve, though more chocolatey and with a bit more hop kick. Overall a fantastic beer, but I can't see myself shelling out $7 for another bomber, not when I can get the similar Santa's for $10 per sixer every year around the Holidays.

I poured a bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance- Cloudy, amber color with a finger and a half of light tan head. Good retention with some patchy lacing.
Smell- Caramel malt with some floral hops.
Taste- Sweet malt flavor at the start followed with an almost spicy hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel- Medium bodied, crisp, and dry. An average amount of carbonation.
Overall- I bought this because I am a fan of "The Deadliest Catch." A decent beer but the hop bitterness reminded me more of a IPA than an amber ale.

Hazy Brown copper color with lots and lots of thick off-white head with good retention and leaving laces.
Nice aroma of bold earthy and floral hops, condiments, caramel and toasted malts.
Very bitter taste with predominance of floral hops with hints of grapefruit, non-sweet plums, random spearmint and spices. A bit salty as ocean water was used in the recipe. Dry aftertaste with a long lasting bitterness with notes of chocolate, toasted grains and guaraná powder.
Full body and good carbonation.
Interesting idea. It differs from a regular American IPA but has the kick of one and on the background you can identify a red ale that is striving to come out. Good ale, the bottle disappeared in blink of an eye.

Appearance - Amber, cloudy, nice head dissipating to light cover head, good lacing
Smell - Malty sweet smell with hoppy for and after taste expected at 80 IBU
Taste - Malt sweetness with strong hoppiness almost IPA
Mouthfeel - Up front bite, bitter sweet, back end bitter.
Drinkability - Very drinkable, has a somewhat lingering aftertaste however, which somewhat deters the drinkibility, goes down very easily
Overall - Good beer, for an Amber Ale yet pushing in on the IPA style

Seems appropriate tonight.
Looks... Well, its not the most attractive pour. Murky, dull dark brown with some amber highlights. Though in context of working a Bering sea fishing boat? Looks like pure gold.
Interesting aroma. Very malty and earthy. Fair bit of not-overly-sweet caramel, some nice toasted bits, and a floral, slightly spicy hop aroma. Definitely different... Likeable in an odd way.
Hops kick in more on the flavor right off the bat. Not sharp pr aggressive, bit a heavy, full spicy, floral character that's all over the flavor through to the finish. Malt tones down in the flavor, but still a solid body. Mildly sweet toffee and caramel bits, and good big of toasted biscuity bits. Big, but with a good bit of balance. Unique for sure.
Big mouthfeel in all aspects. Full, heavy, and assertive. Good bit of bitterness and body lingers on the finish.
Overall, a thoroughly worthwhile beer. Nothing amazing, not world class, but enjoyable to drink for sure, a good cause, and... If one likes Deadliest Catch, what better brew for the start of the season?
