Poured from a large 650ml bottle - rotated to ensure any sediment was recovered. No obvious date of brewing on the bottle or best before date.
A - cloudy yellow/light orange with moderate carbonation. Moderate head disappears with no lacing fairly quickly.
S - not as much nose as I had hoped; slight citrus with a bit of yeast.
T - less of the delicious yeasty flavor of some of the popular German Hefeweizens, with a slight ginger bite at the back of your throat. Not getting any of the coriander, and no citrus. Could be more concentrated.
M - decent to drink with a fairly pleasing balance even though it's got only moderate power. Smooth with slight ginger bite at the end.
D - quite drinkable, but doesn't less so than a classic Hefeweizen. Goes down quite easy.
Decent beer; pretty unique with the addition of the ginger, but didn't find enough coriander coming through. Not sure I'd get this again.
[Just looked at the style on this one and it's noted as a Witbier - of course the bottle of MoM Hefeweizen says otherwise - thinking about it in retrospect its style certainly is closer to a Witbier - doesn't really change the review that much for me though.]

I poured a bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance- Hazy golden color with a fingers worth of head. Faint amounts of runny lacing.
Smell- Wheat malt aroma with notes of coriander and ginger.
Taste- Wheat malt flavor with some ginger, coriander, and a hint of orange zest.
Mouthfeel- Light bodied with an average amount of carbonation. Very crisp and prickly.
Overall- A good beer but it tastes more like a Wit than a Hefeweizen.

No freshness date, but based on the Rogue's release schedule I'd say this is under a month old.
Appearance - Pours a hazy golden orange with a white, finger width head. Fair retention, leaving a sparse layer of microbubbles coating the surface and thickening around the edge of the glass. No lace present.
Smell - Predominant wheat aroma, with lesser notes of citrus, floral character and a touch of rose.
Taste - Wheat, hints of milkiness, light touches of orange zest, slight spice and a very faint rose sweetness on the back end.
Mouthfeel - Light to medium in body with moderate carbonation; fair tingle on the tongue. Crisp, clean finish.
Overall - Much better than the Half-e-weizen I remember having a good 8-9 years ago. Perhaps the addition of rose has given this a sweeter, more palatable flavor. The name is misleading; this is not a hefeweizen. Why not make it a true hefe by using the weizen yeast they use for the Roguenbier Rye they brew? It's beyond me. Regardless, this is a solid, drinkable wheat beer. It's currently categorized as a witbier, and based on flavor profile, I'd say that's about right. I'd consider this a once a year purchase.

22 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours hazy golden straw color with a 1 finger fairly dense bright white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, coriander, ginger, clove, wheat, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity; fairly weak on strength as expected. Taste of pear, lemon, apple, coriander, ginger, clove, wheat, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. No bitterness; with lingering notes of pear, lemon, apple, coriander, ginger, clove, wheat, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice balance of malt, spice, and fruity ester flavors; with a good amount of flavor that is not watery at all; and zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy, smooth, and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a good witbier style. Good balance of malt, spice, and fruity ester flavors; and very smooth to drink. A pleasantly enjoyable offering.

Review for Mom Hefeweizen, ale brewed with rose petals. I disagree with BA that this is the same beer as Half-E-Weizen.
A - Light gold, semi-opaque body. As a hefe it could use a little more haze for my liking. Pure white head sits relatively low with poor retention and lace for the style.
S - Not much there. Straw, green tea.
T - Funny... the bottle says it's a hefe and BA has it up as a wit, and while it's not a great version of either, I'd say it actually comes off more as a wit too. Soft wheat, light orange peel, and a soft floral finish.
M - Soft, smooth, light body. Easy drinking, but really low carbonation.
O - I can appreciate the flavor profile knowing that it's not supposed to be a straight-up hefe, but it still falls short of great.
