Beautiful golden with slight chill haze, clinging thin white foamy head. Strawlike yeasty character with definate mild herbal hop and sweet malt aroma in the nose. Buttery, with thick malt and a mildly grassy, strong citrusy hop bitterness throughout. Very clean strawlike yeasty taste. Very one-sided, no true blending or complexity. Thick mouthfeel for a golden ale... Not very impressive in my opinion.

I had Rogue Sharktooth Ale, which BA forwards to this beer.

A - Fluffy head poured out over the glass... OOPS was not expecting that but quickly lost ist composure. Left very little lacing but what was there was extremely bubbly and foamy. The beer was a hazy golden straw.

S - WOW!!!! What a great scent profile. Malty with a sweet corriander and ginger scent. Smelt great... Cannot wait to drink!

T - Great malty flavor and the spices are right on! A bit of the bitterness from the hops and the spicy ginger and corriander finish it off! Great new flavor combo for me.

M - Great balanced beer and good carbonation to it.

D - Definately a spiced beer but for me, I thought this was great. It really suprised me becasue I was not expecting it and normally am not a fan of such beers. If you can find it... Shark tooth or whatever, I think it is worth a try.

Light golden in color with a medium level of haze and cloudiness to it that obscured a bit of the sunlight poking through. Nice head of white capped the top and settled down smoothly and evenly, creating a decent broken crown that ringed the side of the glass and kept some nice lacing. Aroma was light, and this would be a trend throughout the day. Light notes of peach and light grain are really all that is coming through right now. Warming brought a smidge of citrus to it, but nothing really standing out here for me at all. Crisp, clean flavor though with light hints of clove and heather that sat on top of a base that resembled mostly light fruits and hints of grain

This brew wasn't too bad. It pours out as a very light yellow color with a billowing head on it. The aroma was of grains and some light citrus. The taste was on the light side, not a whole lot going on here really. It's got just some grains up front and a little bit of a tart hoppiness in the aftertaste. I wouldn't need to have this beer again. I wasn't really impressed.

This review is for Rogue Sharktooth Ale, which BA forwards to this beer.

A - Fluffy head poured out 4 fingers high with a loose bubble structure. It gives up it's height in a hurry, but leaves some nice creamy peaks. The liquid is a yellow gold.

S - Wonderful malt, and lightly earthy.

T - Great malt character. Nice yellow cake sweetness. Touch of herbal hops and spicy ginger. Clean and delicious. A fantastic flavor combination.

M - Round and medium bodied. Finishes pleasantly sweet.

D - Perfect drinkability in my mind. Nice carbonation and a soft, well rounded, well balanced, flavor profile.

Thanks to my brother for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is wheat, ginger, lemon, perfume and caramel. The flavor is wheat, orange peel, coriander, perfume and flowery hops, lemons and a low amount of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Overall, this beer tastes like a hopped up Belgian White. Decent and somewhat drinkable, but nothing special.

I had this last night at Word of Beer in Carrolwood, labeled as Shark Took Ale. This beer poured a deep gold with no head and little lacing. The aroma is a yeasty with a little sweet malt. This is a malty grainy beer with lemon and a hop tail. A medium bodied beer, although I felt it was a little flat but decent overall.

Note: Bottled as Shark Tooth Ale. No marked alcohol percentage.

Appearance - 3.5
Pours a hazy golden yellow with almost two fingers of white foam head.

Smell - 3.5
A rather tart and floral aroma of warm white bread, coriander, ginger, citrus peel, spicy saaz hop and perhaps just a little caramel sweetness.

Taste - 2.5
It is immediately evident that this is a spiced ale, with coriander and ginger dominating the palate. A little bready pale and wheat malt character in the background, zesty lemon, with moderate bitterness from the saaz and willamette, as well as a fair amount of tartness. Ultimately the spiciness is too much for this drinker's taste, making me feel like I am drinking liquefied potpourri rather than beer.

Mouthfeel - 3.5
Light bodied with moderate to lively carbonation and reasonably fine bead.

Drinkability - 1.5
Not generally being a fan of spiced beer, I found this rather hard to drink, and certainly wouldn't bother with it again.

OVERALL - 2.9
I don't think there is anything wrong with brewing a spiced golden ale, but this is way over-spiced in my opinion.

22 oz bomber under the alias of 'Shark Tooth Ale' without a freshness date. I am surprised the shark on the label does not have a fin raised in salute! Gentle pour yields a mildly hazy light gold color with a soapy white foam. Retention and lacing are average at best, especially for a brew containing wheat.

Nose is pretty interesting as the saaz is readily apparent as well as some other hop notes and the ginger really sticks out. Nice, unique.

Alot going on here with the ginger being refreshing and zesty. The coriander softens things a little bit, but then some wheat tang comes out and is finished off by an ample supply of grassy, floral hop flavor and plenty of bitterness. A nice progression of flavors parade across the palate but the carbonation might be a bit high. This is one of the better Rogue beers I have had, a nice summertime brew. Still a bit pricey at 6.99 a bomber, but worth a try every now and again.
