Appearance - Pours a slightly opaque golden hue, nice head which dissipates into a nice lace.

Smell - Caramel, freshness. Not a whole lot in the smell except a great beer.

Taste - Beautiful caramel, with a subtle toffee undertone to finish it off. I've been drinking this beer consistently for the last 9 years now and the only thing holding this beer back from a perfect 5 in taste is consistency. There is a definite fluctuation with quality of flavor from time to time, but the batch I'm drinking tonight is absolute perfection.

Mouthfeel - Has never let me down. Medium body, perfect carbonation. Perfect balance of hop and malt. I honestly can't differentiate between where malts end and hops begin.

Overall - Maybe I'm a bit biased when it comes to Dead Guy, and if so, it's only because this is the beer that got me into liking beer again, and started me onto the journey I find myself on today. A good 4-5 times a year I find myself saying "You know what? Tonight's a Dead Guy night", and it's never done me wrong.

22oz bomber into pint glass

A - a slightly cloudy dark orange/almost brown beer. only about an inch of head, which dissipates quickly. decent amount of lacing

S - bready/grainy malts, slight hops, and some yeast characteristics as well. not a lot going on in the smell

T - malt forward but a nice kick from the hops (citrus i think), which wasnt there in the smell. dried fruits permeate throughout, finishes very smooth

M - Medium bodied which is surprising given the booze content. well carbonated

Overall - A very nice offering from Rogue, not surprising this is their pride and joy and most heavily distributed. smooth drinking, good flavors. only complaint is from the nose, which is a minor complaint
