A: Nice hazy orange/straw color. No visible sediment, simply slight haze limiting transparency. Light, light orange; close to pale orange/straw.

S: Sweet and orange citrus. Nothing special, but good scent to this beer.

T: Definitely pick up on the sweetness from the honey. Touch of sweetness was good, any more though and it would have been a bit too much. (bordering)

M: Good medium-bodied, creamier than expected mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation, more texture than I was expecting.

O: Good solid beer, would be great to drink on a hot summer day if wanting to bypass a standard selection Blue Moon or Summer Ale from a large supplier. Would definitely try again.

kind of a random purchase when I got that once-in-awhile craving for a boring APWA

a: wheat ale glass, lightly hazed honey golden in color, topped with a thin layer of white carbonation, average retention

s: wheat and pale malt base, clean with a light peppery spice, a little floral, brief glimpses of orange, some bready yeast aromas, not very fruity but some apple or pear, mildly hopped

m: carbonation a touch spritzy, lower in level, with a lighter body

t: cleanly grainy wheat and very pale malts through and through, some yeast, mild orange peel, grassy hop flavors, just a touch of sugar early before drying thoroughly to leave a hint of spice and mild bitterness, very delicate honey flavors that are quite tough to pull out - but that's usually expected with honey, pretty one-dimensional here

o: not bad but fairly uninteresting and one-dimensional, nothing off about it though - would be a decent choice on a hot summer day, honey pretty much absent

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a mug glass.

A: The beer is a deep yellow color, with a short white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains wheat, citrus, light caramelized malts and a faint touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out with a mildly sweet citrus and honey flavor that is quickly followed by a thin wheat and light malt breadiness. The hops presence is very mild but brings some balance. The honey flavor increases just a bit into the finish. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.

M: Smooth and very crisp, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is dry.

O: A little tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, it’s a decent beer but there are other wheat beers I would choose first.

From the bottle: "This unfiltered beer is medium bodied with no harsh bitterness. It his flavors of honey and orange balanced with a nice medium-sweet malt character."; "Brewed With Oregon Honey, Orange Peel, & Spices Added".

My pour netted me a fizzy, foamy finger of French Vanilla-colored head with moderate retention. Color was a very cloudy orangish-yellow. Nose smelled strongly of sweet oranges, more like Mandarin than Navel. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium and the taste was definitely not bitter. It was very mellow, like drinking tea and even the label mentioned their use of Chamomile along with Coriander and the other aforementioned ingredients. Finish was not overly sweet, but it was definitely sweeter than I usually like. This would be one for me to share with (at least) one other person. A bomber of it was too much by myself. I guess that it would be good in the summer or if you like this sort of thing, but for me, it was a non-starter.

Bomber pours a hazy light orange colour with a lot of small bubbled carbonation, although limited head and no lacing. Aroma of roasted grains, both malted barley and wheat, with a pleasantly orange undertone. The orange is also prevalent in this beer's finish, although it is not overly sweet or cloying. Taste has an initial malted sweetness, then a moment of bitterness before the orange and grain finish. The wheat is present, but not overwhelming - a positive, in my own personal world.

None of the grapefruit or tropical fruits I'd associate specifically with this style, but a pleasant beer one nonetheless. An uncomplicated and unthreatening summer pint that could appeal to a wide variety of consumers.
