Poured from a small bottle into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint glass.
Appearance: Opaque copper with a small slightly orange head that dissipates quickly and leaves behind some spotty lace.
Smell: Caramel malt, apple, grape, and a smoky character with a slight herbal backing.
Taste: Begins biscuity and with sweet caramel, rounding out to buttery sweetness and finishing with a very pleasant bitter flavor. Throughout, though, there is a smoky character as the aroma would suggest.
Mouthfeel: Medium in body with balanced carbonation and a watery finish.
Overall: This is an outstanding beer and has a very unique character compared to many others of this style. Too bad it only comes in tiny single bottles.

Bottled in 2010, drank 2013.
Murky brown/red color.
Small khaki head; minimal lace.
Booze, caramel & toffee nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Massive caramel notes, tasty but borderline cloying. Glad it was a small bottle.
