This place located outside Scottsdale Fashion Square, stoppped by after eating dinner across the street at the new PF Changs
Had over a hundred taps like most Yard House spots, had some good Rogue brews, some rare Belgians like St. Bernardus and Lindenmans, also saw some Sea Dog brew, which you do not see very often
Prices are okay, but much better during happy hour (3.25 for goblets of the high ABV stuff, and 3.25 for normal pints)
Wish I would have tried some Old Crustacean, but I did not
Would go back to this place if I ever ventured into that area again
Would check out Papago first though, heard that place is amazing!!!

Visited this place whilst over from the UK (16/09).
I was not aware that this place was in Fashion Square and next to the Mall until I read about it in my hotel room brochure.
One night at Papago and one night here about blew my liver away.
Well over 100 beers on tap but on checking the list most from from bigger breweries and quite a bit of lager shite. Only about 15 - 20 interesting beers that I had not tried before so bearing in mind I am from the UK and have only tried about 400 American beers that is not a very good selection in terms of rarity.
As a previous reviewer said, they took my card for the tab whilst sitting at the bar. Must check my statement.
I tried the following:-
Green Flash - West Coast Amber
Lost Coast - Alleycat Amber
Bayhawk - Beach Blonde - this was superb
Bayhawk - Hefeweizen
Portland - Oregan Honey
Sea Dog - Blue Pair Wheat - very strange but nice
Deschutes - Pale Ale
Lost Coast - Downtown Brown
Kona - Fire Rock Pale
Rogue - Old Crusty. An absolute fabulous headbanger at 11.7
Nimbus - Old Monkeyshine - Another fabulous headbanger.
All beers $5.25 a pint. RIP OFF PRICES. Stronger beers served in goblets. Not sure about the half yards.
The bartenders were very friendly and let me try a pint of Deshutes as they said it had won an award, also my last 2 beers were on the house as I was from the UK.
Cheers guys that saved me about $15!!!!
Not sure how often they change the beer range but will go back again next time I am in Scottsdale.

This is the most "trendy" of the 3 Yardhouses in Phoenix, and with service I think it is the worst (Glendale is the best, hands down).
The menu selection looks great for beer choices, but you have to wonder why the have so many macros and why they don't rotate the micros very often. For initial impression of atmosphere and printed menu, they're looking great.
But it's extremely overpriced and sometimes the taps aren't so fresh. Moreover, the atmosphere is rather yuppyish but at least they play hard rock nonstop, and only hard rock. Spacious room is good, not smoky at all, and even when packed you can still hold a civil conversation with your tablemates.
Hit the late night happy hour for the best bang for your buck, if you can squeeze in that one hour timeframe into your busy schedule!

Stumbled across this place in Fashion Square Mall. I was actually looking for Rockbottom but the BA map seems to be outdated.
Have visited the Yard House in San Diego so knew what to expect. The atmosphere is a bit too sports bar/corporate to suit me.
Good quality beers and huge selection.
My complaint with the service is they want to take your credit card to open a tab if you are seated at the bar. The last time I handed over the card, someone stole my number and made some big fraudulent charges. I'm not necessarily blaming somebody at the Yard House but the timing was pretty much right on for when the charges were made. That said, the bar staff were friendly and efficient.
Good food as in prior visits. Just a bit too expensive though. Beer prices were also too high. I guess you need money to dine out in Scottsdale.

I hit this place while on a business trip to Scottsdale. It was within a mile of my hotel and easily walkable. The food was great, we got a couple appetizers and then I had an excellent pepper jack burger.
The beer selection is second to no place that I have been to. Understand that I live in West Virginia and our idea of a beer bar is one that has both Bud and Bud Light on tap. But be that as it may, this place has a LOT of beers on tap. 113 on the night of 1/11/07. It's a pretty trendy place in a very affluent area, and prices are reflective of that. Happy hour and late night are pretty reasonable, $3.25/pt (or a smaller goblet of some of the bigger beers). But after that it's $5.95. I'm pretty sure the prices are the same for anything you get. From BMC to Chimay.
Obviously they have so many beers that a list would be pointless. Check out the website. I thought all the beers were fresh. The bartender said that the lines are cleaned any time a keg is changed. They have an awesome keg room you can see into with about a dozen cooled pipes going up and over to the bar area, each of which must have several beer lines in it.
There is supposedly a 200 tap location elsewhere in the area, and they are building a 500 tap location in Vegas. I tried the following (not in this order):
Stone Pale Ale*
Young's Double Chocolate Stout
Mirror Pond Pale Ale
DFH 60 Minute
*first time I had it.
As I said, all were fresh and all were good. Temp maybe a little cold but they warm up quickly.
The waitress knew enough about the beers to help out the complete noobs, but it was plain she was not an expert. There were several gents behind the bar, which we retired to after dinner. They were a bit more knowledgeable, but when I asked if they had any barleywines he started talking about wine. When I told him barleywine was a style of beer he said they didn't have any. All minor offenses though. This place is hopping, lots of sports on the TVs, beer is good, food is great, etc. I gave a $$ for value since if you average the prices of regular and happy hour prices it's not too bad.

Had this bar refered to me by a friend. Located in a very upscale mall in a wealthy part of town. Inside is a metal covered trendy interioir. Has something like 112 beers on tap. No bottles though. Staff was attentive and nice (one guy gave us a free pizza because he got the order wrong), though some were lacking in beer knowledge (only one bartender realized belgian ales are supposed to have a decent head on them.) I got three good belgians on tap; Chimay Cinq Cents, Tripel Karmeliet, and Delirium Teremens. All served in goblets, though the goblets were a little on the cheap side, Ive seen much nicer barware, i was kinda expecting more from scottsdale. If you get there during happy hour which is something like 3-6 all beers are 3$, not to bad considering some of the choices on tap. Food here is expensive. Like 6$ for a bowl of soup, maybe Im just cheap but that seems like alot to me. But all in all a nice place i would definitely frequent more often if I lived closer to it.

Just returned from a vacation in Arizona and while I was there I had limited time in Phoenix, AZ, so I checked out two places, one was the Yard House. There are two location in town and I stopped at the one tucked into a mall. Like the other reviews say, yes it's in a mall. The place is large with a glass front, neon, stainless steel, and trendy décor. By my tastes the place is a little too trendy but it's still nice. I went late on a Saturday night after my flight into Phoenix, AZ and the crowd seemed to be young and trendy (the "see and be seen" type of people). The food was good as was expected at this type of brewpub and the beer selection is impressive. The waiter was moderately knowledgeable about the beer but not that helpful. The noise level in the place is too loud for me when it's this crowed. If I were a local I'd come here on off nights so I could hang at the bar and grab a bite of food.
