An Oud Bruin from New Jersey? Worth a try. 22oz into a wine glass.
A: Pours a woody brown with a nice light tan head. Good lacing.
S: Lightly acetic, maple, cardboard oxidation, cranberry. Smell is a bit off-putting.
T: Taste is slightly better. Light caramel and roasted malt, mild acetic and lactic tartness, dried fruit, acetone, a bit more oxidation.
M: Light-bodied with light carbonation.
O: The beer tastes oxidized and a bit odd. Not a very good representation of the style, and not a very good beer in general.

Pours a deep reddish amber, almost brown with little to no head, which dissipates to leave a thin white cap.
Aromas of sweet caramel malt, brown malt and emerging dark fruitiness yeasty esters.
The tastes begin with dark sour fruit and brown bready maltiness. As it warms there is a distinct light dark roasted maltiness, almost toffee flavor with more brown sugar, caramel maltiness and sour dark cherry fruitiness.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finish has notes of sour berries with a light tartness.
Overall this is not a mind-blowing sour but was very drinkable and tasty to have on draft. From what I have read, the bottled version is not very palatable and borderline bad but the draft version was quite enjoyable for me at least.

This is my first of this style, so take my review with a grain of salt. I bought a brown bomber of this at my local liquor store. The brewery is actually located in my town.
A: The appearance is nothing too special, it's a solid mahogany color. There was virtually no head and no lacing going on when I poured this into my glass.
S: Smells fairly boozy, yet more subtly fruity and sour.
T: The taste is interesting. There are some really earthy notes followed by a nice sour and fruity bite. The main fruit that comes through for me is raisins. There is a very faint wood taste as well. It's like the beer equivalent to trail mix.
M: Medium carbonation, light mouthfeel. I really like how smooth this one goes down although I would stop short of calling this a good session beer.
Overall, I think this is a nice effort from a brewery literally down the road from me. While I haven't tried any other Flanders Oud Bruin style, I would happily try this style again but perhaps not the Climax one.

22 oz bottle. Pours brown with a small, short-lived off-white head. Aroma is sweet and sour, funky, caramel malt, cherry and brown sugar. Body is medium and tangy. Taste is pleasantly sweet and sour, very tart, with yeasty funkiness, brown sugar, woody and cherry notes. Finish is medium and sour. Very pleasant brew.

No best by date.
A: Pours a lovely mahogany red with just a fringe of white head around the edge of the glass.
S: Fig, burnt raisin and loads of brown sugar with a hint of tartness.
T/M: Sticky and slick. Sour as expected, but more in a this has spoiled sort of way. Notes of brown sugar dominate the palate with a blast of fig that seems somewhat rotten. Poorly brewed, this is not what an Oud Bruin should taste like.
