Pizza here is good, but not as good as some other places in DC, see 2 Amys. That said the beer selection is always very well curated which makes up for lack of size compared to places like Churchkey. Especially good is the half price happy hour on weekdays. 5$ lambickx? Yes please. 3.50$ Mean Old Tom, why thank you! And the list goes on...

All three of these restaurants are similar in ambience, service, and beer selection, but each has its own unique layout and neighbor which also effects the experience.
In this particular location, service can be a bit slow as not all beer taps are located in the same place. 4 taps upstairs the remainder are downstairs. The bigger space is upstairs so there can be delays as the bartender goes down to retrieve the beer.

For CBC week I wanted a place to hang out that was close to the hotel in G'town that had a decent beer selection. This is on M street and 1 1/2 blocks from my pass out bed.
Medium sized pizzaria on ground floor. Popular place; a bit crowded on entry--people waiting for seats seem to always block the doors. Was told the bar up stairs was smaller than the one downstairs...so I high tailed it downstairs to see what they had.
By bigger, she obviously meant selection. The room seats maybe 50. Lower ceilings, bar seats 10. But the selection was quite nice. While Churchkey may have the upper hand on selection, the more "intimate" atmosphere here offers quicker and better service. Nice selection of bottles...some Cantillons, one-offs and Hill Farmstead among others. Tap selection was quite good, too. Found some Prarie (OK), Oxbow and FFF.
Service at the bar was great (didn't utilize a server). A bit pricey for the bottles, but happy hour allows for 1/2 price drafts. Done and done.
Was really overly satisfied with this place, for location and selection, but service and timeliness were perks.

This review is for the M street location. I happened to be in DC this week and saw that Paradiso was doing a Three Floyds/Elysian beer night. I used to get these beers in PA a long time ago. I was excited but worried it would be a shit show here. I arrived just after 9pm.
Pretty small spot. Low lights. 45 minute wait for a table for four for beers at 9pm. No problem for me. We put our name on a list. The girl who took our name was very nice. Polite and professional.
We walked to the bar and as we ordered beer two bar stools left so two of us stood and two sat. I took my name off the wait list. The bartender was really friendly and offered us great service. The FFF night I found out was going on at the downstairs bar. Our bartender had no issues getting us beer from downstairs. Zombie dust was kicked before we got there. Still managed to have three rounds of great beers with no issues. It was pretty quiet at the bar and not really crowded.
Tap selection was great for the FFF/Elysian event and there were 4 other taps at the upstairs bar. All I remember was Uinta Hop Notch was on tap. Many people drinking bottles. I did not look at the bottle list but did see FFF/ Blackheart among many others on display and in the cooler behind the bar. I did not see prices for these. I did see the bartender pour a few and they were poured in correct glassware and poured well.
No food was had but the pizza looked very good. I did look at the price and it was a bit expensive but it is DC.
The beers were all $6ea and most were 16oz except the back masking stout was a 12oz. Not sure why. I was expecting an $8 plus pint in DC and at this event.
I would stop by again if in the area. Very happy with the beer, service and the whole night.
EDIT...stopped here again March 2014. we ate and drank. Pizza was great. The dough is really good. Table service was really good. We did wait almost an hour for a four top at around 7pm on a Friday. Beer was a bit more money this time. Four of us ate and had 6 beers total and the check was just under $100 before tip.

First time in Georgetown/DC area and I wasn't too wowed by the selection around there. Went to a few bottle shops near this place and it seemed like everywhere was just blown out of founders, bells, and floyds (lot of DFH and Flying Dog but all sixers). On the walk back to the hotel room, I literally walked into every bar on M st to check the selection( both sides of the street haha). After a bunch of strikeouts, I was getting hungry and swung through Pizzeria Paradiso, recommendation courtesy of BA. Sooo glad I did! They let me try Founders Porter on draft (phenomenal!) and gave me an excellent pairing for a pint of Flying Dog's Underdog Atlantic Lager. Very knowledgeable staff, great with the beer/pizza pairings (at least the guys seemed to be, the girl who ran our food out wasn't at all talkative which detracted from the overall experience). Little dark inside, but it was close to closing. Lot of college students too.
Definitely recommend a swing through for a pint to this sick little oasis if you find yourself in Georgetown!

I tried to get into Paradiso Dupont Circle once and it was mobbed. Fast-forward one year and I'm walking around Georgetown with my beautiful friend from Spain on a beautiful, sunny day. I remember the wife had stopped at Paradiso Georgetown, so I ask her for directions and there I go!
Place is clean, cozy, airy. But also a bit sterile and chain-y. Great for a quiet lunch, despite being busy. Alright service, a bit erratic and disorganized (maybe understaffed?) but fine.
I sat at the bar on the main floor, but there is another bar downstairs where I was told all the good taps are.
Great bottle list divided in styles, with a heckuva lot of sours, wild ales and lambics. A good amount of taps too, sixteen plus a cask, but no variety. Mostly IPA's. Maharaja, Mikkeller Single Hop (had the Palisade and loved it), Speakeasy Double Daddy, Lagunitas Lucky 13, Victory Hop Wallop, Illimites Simple Malt IPA from Quebec...
They serve flights ($9-$11) and I like that. Got one. Their pizza is good but not great. Not like Piece in Chicago. Didn't wow me, crust was a little too thick but ingredients were fresh and nice. My half-Italian friend said it was delicious. Pricey at $11.75 for a mini one-person pie.
I liked it OK here but wouldn't be in a hurry to come back. When in DC, there are other spots I like better.

I have been here a couple of times on trips to DC and enjoyed my visits each time. The bar is downstairs and is fairly cozy. There are also some tables. Only complaint is no wi-fi. Of the three locations, they always seem to have the best beer selections here, although that can be a toss-up with the P Street location (which is busier and noisier).
The 5-7 happy hour on Tuesdays and Wednesdays is not to be missed. Half price on draft beers and discounts on appetizers and pizzas, and the food is superb.
My last visit, just two days ago, I had Del Borgo Duchessa and Duchessic on tap and a De Dolle Boskeun. Also on draft: Stone 15th Anniversary
Del Ducato Nuova Mattina
North Coast Old Rasputin
Stone Pale Ale
Evil Twin Berfore, During and After Christmas
Brasserie Lefebvre Hopus
Long Trail Harvest Ale
Epic Straight Up Saison
Stoudt’s Heifer-in-Wheat
Rogue Smoke
Bell’s Two Hearted
Troegs Dead Reckoning
Dogfish Head Namaste.
Now that's pretty impressive, isn't it?
They keep pretty up to date with available beers on their website.
Will definitely be going to one of the locations for happy hour if my next trip to DC coincides.

Fantastic beer selection. Lots of tourist, including myself. There are plenty of fantastic pairings from both menus. Cask ale is also available, like today's selection, which was a Oliver's Dry-hopped Ironman Ale.
Great beer menu, bigger than the food menu. It's about eight pages of different styles to choose from. I always appreciate a fine dining establishment that has a perfectly broken down beer menu with narratives for each style. Great stuff. Flights are also available.16 beers on tap, with a major portion of which is dedicated to Allagash, Mikkeller, and Unibroue.
Simple, pleasant italian based food menu, fire oven. Love it, reminds me of my restaurant visits in Italia. I will say that the service was not at the level I expected, my cask beer was served in a conical shaped pint glass and my stout was served in a bottle. I had to ask for me snifter glass. Weird. I guess I expected more from the service.
Otherwise, this is a great place for a date and perfectly located in the Georgetown area. Can't go wrong there.
