Poured from 22oz bomber into a dimpled mug.

Appearance: nice golden-orange hue with a haze-free body and a moderate effervescence. Head is a thick finger of frothy ivory foam. Quite attractive.

Smell: very hoppy aroma is a nice combination of citrus and dankness. Hops make up the bulk of the nose, but a light maltiness and a hint of yeast character round it out a bit. I like it.

Taste: sweet, malty flavor; sweeter than the aroma would suggest. Nice, citrusy hop flavor with a bit of an earthy undertone. Hops are not as pronounced as in the aroma, but the total effect is quite balanced. Bitterness is low to moderate. Quite a tasty example of the style.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a big carbonation and a nice, creamy mouthfeel. Good stuff!

Overall: I'd definitely drink this beer again. It's got a good, hoppy flavor, and is yet quite quaffable. Kudos!

Crisp clear amber pour. Pillowy white head. Fades, leaving a nice little reminder of what was.

Sweeter malty nose, definitely an english as opposed to american (especially west coast) IPA. Mild bitter, but not particularly hoppy. Bready, but not doughy. Little bitta biscuit, maybe a touch of pine, but that could be because I live in a coniferous forest...

The taste follows suit. Biscuit malts with some bittering. Can't quite pin the hops down, though the aftertaste is more citrus. Not dominant.

Smoothe and easy drinking enough. In the IPA world, it's definitely more english than american. In a blind test I'd almost think more APA/mild English Bitter. Certainly drinkable, but for the price, I'd go elsewhere. Worth drinking, though, in a vacuum

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass. A bit old, 11/26/12.

A thick off white fluffy head is presented with lots of staying power. Body is a burnt orange amber, with a little rising carbonation but also a little hazy.

Nose smells more like English bitter. Crisp biscuity malts and marmalade mild sweetness. Kind of light jam, and some faded herbal tea like hops.

First sip brings a bit of expected malt bitter like backbone. However the palate opens with some nice orange hop quite a bit. Finish has a real nice orange creamy mellow sweetness, and a little bit of hop sting. Repeat sips bring up much more pleasurable orange. Low to moderate carbonation which makes you focus on the palate much easier.

Overall I really like the orange bent and it drinks real easy, but I am not convinced this is optimal drinking right now.

From 22 oz bottled ordered in the mail. Poured in Belgian Gulden Draak tulip glass.
Gold-amber color with big amber head...almost immediate lace.
Big aroma of malts and hops. Grassy hops with a touch of grapefruit.
Significant carbonation and mouthfeel.
Flavors of minerals, white grapefruit hops, rosemary, slight pine sap...let me give this a few minutes...
Alrighty then...still has a head, light wheat, lemon grass aromas. Flavors have mellowed a tad. Big flavors but not all pleasant...a level of astringency, cream of tartar like, that is not inviting...it that the English-style aspect?!!

22oz bottle (bottled 11/26/2012) into a tulip. Pours a clear amber w/ a sudsy white head, webs of lace.

Aroma is mildly floral and vaguely piney. Subtle and clean.

Taste is likewise floral and mild. Biscuity and dry; light citrus. Crisp, drinkable, refreshing.

Mouthfeel is balanced, easy on the palate with a dry, clean finish.

Overall a dry, bready, balanced, session IPA.

22oz : tulip
from notes.

Clear, bright, golden copper with foamy, bubbly off white head some lacing

Fruity, sweet citric and floral notes, a unique hop profile. Mild, biscuit malt backing.

Medium- body with average carb.

A well done English IPA. a little bit more hoppy than I'd expect for the style, but still appropriate.

22 oz bottle from Roths Sunnyslope Market in S.Salem. $4.99 Typical IPA ..burnt orange body to the ale but with a huge thick off white head. Very nice gentle floral/citrus hoppiness..i sense caramel malts also in the aroma. Smooth balanced taste..wit the hops taking it at the end..honey ,caramel malts balance citric.fruity hops. English style? maybe Nice low carbonated mouthfeel..smooth and easy drinker. Nothing exciting but a nice easy going IPA..and it helps our native fauna so why not!

A: Poured a medium orange color with good carbonation leaving a moderate white cap, bubbles, good dose of lacing and good head retention

S: A nice breadiness with light citrus and whiffs of pine from time to time

T: An immediate breadyiness strikes a balance with the citrus and lighter pine hop bill. The finish is a little sweet, rather clean and not really bitter.

M: Light to medium bodied, well carbonated, good feel, hops and malt both hang around on the palate for a while

O: Good! Probably one of the better English IPAs I have had in a long time.
