In all my visits to the Boulder area I had never been to Boulder Beer. I realized I had missed nothing. What a completely lame selection of beers on-tap. Nothing out of the ordinary at all.
We had just eaten at Oskar Blues in Longmont so we didn’t try the food. And frankly the beer selection was so boring we just had one each and left.
The bar/eating area is fairly small… there is a patio for the warmer months. I felt like it didn’t feel like a eatery or a bar… the “brewery” was too present. It was like the brewery tour launch point-bar-restaurant-gift shop was all crammed into once space… maybe because it was.
I have nothing else to add. It was almost pointless for us to stop.

Went for the tour, stayed for lunch, which was quite good and reasonably priced. I got a burrito of sorts if my memory recalls accurately. Tour was fun but if you already know how beer is made, there really is no need to attend. You get a ton of free beer at the end (like pitchers worth) so that was cool. Servers were helpful and nice so I can't fault them there. My only issue is that I can get everything they had on draft in New Jersey in bottles. Was hoping for a few more experimental beers having made the trek across country. I guess they just have to keep up with the production/bottling to fully experiment like other smaller breweries.

As a Boulder resident, I sure wish this place was better because I
would stop in a lot more often. Bottom line is: if you're from out of
town, it is worth stopping in just to buy some of their swag. One
thing that Boulder Beer has is great art work for their labels which
you can get on every type of apparel at this pub.
If you're local, maybe come in to see if they have Obovoid on tap (winter months).
The wait staff is a little slow and the bartender does not seem to care about the tables i.e. even though he is the first one to see
you, he doesn't communicate that to any of the waitresses.
They don't do tasters right: too small for the price.
Among locals, I have not heard anyone say much good about
the place. There are several other places where you can spend
your time and get better beer and service.
They do have a good summer festival if you're around for that.

love this place. cool atmosphere, especially when its nice enough to sit outside. small operation and taproom, good feel to it. really friendly staff that was happy to do a private tour for me. lots of nice beers on tap, and usually a cask offering, all at reasonable prices. food at lunchtime was excellent and prices were plenty fair. in fact, after my tour i was given about half a pitcher of each beer they had going, which needless to say was enough to get wasted and then some. all of that was free. an all around good time

Went here twice. What they do have going for them is they have very talented musical guests. Besides that, the food is medocre, the beer is pedestrian, the bartenders and servers can be stuck up, and the selection is weak. For what they serve you, it is too expensive. I hate, really hate to slam a place like this but they are in the middle of a very strong and respected beer community yet they represent with the city's very name and weak tasting brewery. They also have a beer representing CU, of which I recently graduated, called Buff Gold, which tastes like a BMC beer. I just wish it could find a way to redeem itself, lest unsuspecting tourists keep visiting this place.
