look: 3 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 4

Presentation: 12oz brown bottle. No freshness date.

Appearance: Pours a hazy copper with orange hues and a slightly tan spotty head that settles to a slightly sticky lace of varying bubble sizes.

Smell: Pleasant floral citric fruit aroma, apple skins. Resin background.

Taste: Smooth and even on the palate. Sharp-ish smack of citric apple with salty notes and a subdued lemony sting. Slight resiny feel and stick. Palate is left with a thin oily feel, breaking with a leaf and apple skin roughness (probably from the dry-hopping) as things dry up towards the end. Soft soap-like wash over it all. Some biscuity malt character, touch of sweetness, and a bready finish with a mouthful of grain.

Notes: The hops really dominate this brew, with barely enough malt character to keep things in control. Pretty average, but worth a try.

look: 4.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 3 | feel: 3 | overall: 3

Presentation: 12 oz brown bottle with no freshness date. Lame tie-die hippy colors on the label.

Appearance: Lightly hazed orangey copper hue, great looking head obviously from the use of a lot of hops.

Smell: Citrusy orange and citric peel hop aroma, hints of pine and tobacco as well.

Taste & Mouth Feel: Hop flavor is all of the place with Chinook in the foreground, a think biting bitterness with a hard hammer of flavor. The malt does not even have a chance to come through. Ample crispness from the carbonation and a faint toasted graininess in the finish after the wave of hops starts to clear.

Drinkability & Notes: This pretty much ends up to be a quick fix for the hop addict, for a pale ale is it way out of balance. Bring up the maltiness a tad and it would be a great pale ale.

Pours an extremely hazy carmel color. Bits of sediment stay suspended in the beer. Nice rocky light tan head with good retention. Tons of lacing sticky lacing. The sediment and haze might be a turn off for some but i think it is a beautiful beer. Some light floral hops in the armoa. Little bit of citrus. Tastes of bready maltiness up front, balanced out by some citrusy hops, little bit of orange. Medium mouthfeel, not a lot of carbination. Lacks a certain pop that I would want in a really good beer. Very smooth finish, no bite or bitterness. Pretty well balanced beer, but just falls short for me. Other than the way it looks, no other part of this beer really stands out as being outsanding.

Poured into becker. Very slightly cloudy orange, with a thick white head that sticks around pretty well, leaving very nice lacing. Smell is subdued hops. Taste is very clear and smooth up front, fading into crackery malts with just a touch of hops. A very drinkable pale ale in my opinion; mouthfeel is slick and a little fuller than I'd expect (probably because it's unfiltered).

Got a bottle of this after reading the label expecting a hop nirvana. Sorry, folks. Didn't happen for me. Wasn't there for my palate. Looked great when poured into a tumbler. ( I like to drink hoppy beers in a tumbler, so I get the hop effect full in the face). Color was good, head was really nice, mouthfeel was good, but it didn't tickle my tongue the way I was expecting. No numbness or bitterness on the back of my throat. Tasted like it was watered down. Not sorry I tried it but I was expecting more from the hops. Good price though.

On tap at jamian's in red bank.

Arrives in a pint glass with a half inch of frothy foam. Cloudy dark amber color. Aroma is mostly a nice citrus hoppiness. First sip is a smooth malty full bodied sweetness with a hint of hop flavor. Well balanced and very easy to put back.

A nice warm weather beer. Pleasant and flavorful.
