Sampled from a 22oz bomber.

Appearance: Slightly cloudy amber color with lots of carbonation streams. Huge, spongy head that is very thick.

Smell: Ripe, dominate lemony citrus with hints of lime, orange, and granny smith apples combine with the smell of fresh hops. I was suprised at how the citrus dominated the hop smell. It did not smell like citrusy hops, but two distinct scent profiles; one citrus, one hops.

Taste: Slightly sweet malt, light hop bitterness, and a little too subdued on the hops. Didn't have the fresh hop punch I was expecting from a APA, yet is still tasted very good to me. Like taking a Mild Pale Ale and then dry hopping it.

Mouthfeel: Light, airy, and clean.

Drinkability: Very good, not to much alcohol or hop bitterness that you couldn't have many of these.

Nearly copper in color with a brighter hue throughout, this pale ale is on the dark end for the style. A light tan head manages just less than a full finger before fading to a strong enough foam that leaves spotty and thinly patchy lacing.
There's a distinctively citrus note to the hops offering a moderate bitterness, a little more so with the rind coming through, along with some leaf and resin and a tangy sweet note.
There's a difference from years back. It used to be that, while hoppy for the typical pale ale (which is good), the skill needed is in finding the balance was lacking. The hops then simply destroyed the malts. Now it's raw, resinous, pithy and has a bite, but at least here malts come out and that balance has been found. There's definitely some bread and caramel to help it all come together. There's a touch of skunkiness (think cannabis). Some pine tends to build strongly in the lingering finish.
Carbonation is moderate in a medium body with a firm crispness.
