pours hazy straw yellow with 1+ finger white head that faded fast and left no lacing

smells very faint - i pick up a little banana

taste is much better then the nose - light wheaty grains and banana

mouthfeel is light crisp and very refreshing

overall - this might not be the best or even in the top 10 in pale wheats but i could knock back many of these on a hot summer day - this is on par with goose 312 without the lemon

Poured this into a pint glass. This one appears a hazy pale yellow color with about a finger of creamy white head. The head dissolves down to a thin layer of foam pretty quickly.

Kind of grainy in the aroma with a little bit of spicy hops in the background. A little bit of a banana aroma to this also. Toast malt flavor with peppery hops. A little bit sweet to finish in it. Nothing really exciting going on here, but also nothing offensive going on here.

The feel is light and the carbonation is a bit prickley. Overall, nothing bad but nothing great. I don't see myself going back to this one, but I wouldn't turn it away.

Sweaty Betty pours out like a typical wheat beer with some haze but also seems a bit lighter in color. The aroma smells soft like wheat and some banana. The taste is on the light side, almost too light for a wheat beer in my opinion. The mouthfeel is very drinkable and easy going. I just wish this beer was a little bit more flavorful. It really doesn't have many bragging rights. There are better wheat beers out there than this one.

Pours a hazy golden yellow with a moderate white head and a lively carbonation which helps retain the head thoughout most of the brew. The nose is bright with mostly wheat- influenced flavors- aromas of banana, peach, white clove- and maybe a faint touch of hoppy flowers. The palate is medium-bodied and creamy with a smooth delivery and flavors of banana, lemon and vanilla leading to a moderate, fruity and mouthwatering finish. This isn't my favorite style, but it's done well for the style.

12 oz bottle, bottles 12/10, poured into SA Pint

A - Pale, somewhat hazy straw yellow with a scant, tight white head. Lacing and retention is minimal.

S - Light in the nose...mostly clove and coriander

T&M - Lighter bodied and crisp. Has the typical "softness" associated with higher wheat content. Clove and coriander from the nose carry through into the flavor. Faint hint of a spicy, peppery nature, with a touch of fruity sweetness in the finish. Aftertaste has a light yeasty chalkiness.

O - This is my second beer out of a Boulder Mix Pack, and I'm starting to sense a pattern. Is this an amazing beer or a shining example of the style? No. Is it highly drinkable and relatively enjoyable? Yes; in fact, I could see giving this to some non-craft beer drinking friends and probably have them enjoy it.

[Best served in a Weizen glass]

Poured a hazy yellow with a small frothy white head that was mostly diminishing and had fair lacing. The aroma was very light of grain malts, flowery hops, sweet yeast and a nice hint of citrus. It tasted sweet and yeasty at first and finished with a light sweet yeast and citrus flavor that lasted a decent amount of time. Mouthfeel was light in body and a little watery in texture. Overall a very nice Blonde Wheat Ale, great for the warm weather (not to heavy, but not to light).

What can you say? It's blonde. Looks like someone took a whiz in a glass. Straw-colored and marginally hazy enough that it doesn't look like a mass-produced American lager. Thinnish white head with little retention.

Smells much better than it looks. Similar to a Belgian. Spicy notes of cloves and coriander, with some cut grass and citrus making cameos.

Pleasant taste. Spices play supporting roles with sweetness being provided by wheat and bananas. Would give this a 4.0 taste score for 'beer-general' but it's a 4.5 for the type.

A softness on the palate. The spices are hidden nicely and their is no heat from the alcohol and no lingering bitter.

A quality beer that should be consumed over and over. One of my new favorites.

Bottle poured into a standard pint glass. Very pale blonde, not much head and dissipates quickly.

Smells of citrus. Tastes of citrus--strongly. Not in an unpleasant way though. Slightly sour, but nice, aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

A bit watery, but otherwise, average mouthfeel.

Fairly drinkable--I could enjoy 2 or 3, but any more than that and the sweetness would be too much.

A-cloudy, straw colored, looks like an unfiltered wheat should, thin head

S-earthy, bread, banana-apple-pear fruit notes

T-a little banana, citrus, clove flavor is subtle at first, a little overpowering by the end, tasty nonetheless ( I would have rated taste a bit higher had the clove not been so overpowering by the finish)

M-smooth and creamy, nice carbonation, very clean aftertaste

D-very strong marks here; i had been disappointed with my recent luck with wheat ales, but I found this one quite refreshing and could have quite a few of these

Pours cloudy golden yellow with touches of very white foam. Smells wheaty, with some banana notes. Full wheaty taste with underlying lemon citrus throughout. Smooth mouthfeel, residual tang. Very drinkable, and quite tasty. Refreshing, to boot.

A- Rich cloudy straw yellow with thin white lace that leaves creamy lace. Looks like a good wheat beer should.

S- Bready notes, wheat, hints of citrus and spice. Clove and banana notes. Earthy, grassy notes. Orange, lemon zest, and coriander.

T- Follows the nose. Nice hints of citrus and grasses with spicy notes of coriander and clove. Hint of banana in the aftertaste. All on top of a solid rich wheat.

M- Smooth, creamy, medium bodied.

D- Very tasty and easy to drink.

A - pours a hazy straw yellow without a head

S - smells of bready and wheat malts with some lemon zestiness and grassy hops

T - taste follows the nose to a T. Taste opens up with lemony citrusness that linger during the rest of the drink. There is also some bready and what malts that finish with grassy hops. Nice light flavor profile.

M - nice carbonation with a mediun body

D - pretty solid APWA. I don't know if I would necessarily go out of my way to get this, but it is a better than average wheat ale.

A: small white head that disapears quickly. Very little bubbles and no lacing. Cloudy and yellow in color.

S: Lemon, Banana, Merangue. Smells of a traditional german hef.

T: The flavors follow the nose, however, not as strongly. The flavor is a clean, traditional wheat beer flavor. Nothing blows me away here, but for the style, its above average.

M: Clean, light, good carbonation. Refreshing but nothing special.

D: I marked the drinkability as a 4, good, because again, for the style, it is above average and I could have quite a few of these (if in the mood for a light refreshing, summer beer)

Bought this beer in a 6-pack from Smoke Land in a Samuel Adams Pint class.

A: Yellow color with thick cloud

S: Fruit with a hefeweizen smell.

T: Tastes like a blue moon with an orange or even a hefeweizen.
You can taste the blonde in it and definitely the fruit. Very Sweet.

M: Light Bodied, awesome flow through palate and mouth

D: A mix between a Hefeweizen and a Blue Moon. Awesome beer! Easy for a new beer drinker or a party beer.

Nose here is a lot like a hefeweizen, really. Getting a lot of clove spiciness and lemon.

And the taste...again, lots like a hefeweizen perhaps even mixed with a wit. Lemon notes are very obvious at the get-go. This is paired with some good clove spiciness. Together, this is the body of the beer. At the finish, there is some sweet citrus (orange?), more cloves, and some wheat coming through. Certainly a sweet finish. Definitely a summer beer here.

I'm impressed by this beer's drinkability and character. I'm not exactly sure what separates this from a hefe, but it's definitely a tasty summer option.

On tap on a whim, not the best decision, but OK I guess. Pours a pale yellow with little head. Nose is wit-beer-esque, lemony notes, a bit of spice, some wheatiness to it too. Taste follows with the same notes, but there's something off here that I can't quite put my finger on. Light and refreshing body, not a terrible beer, but probably not one I would order again.

Pours a cloudy, hazy straw yellow color. 1.5 fingers of tiny-bubbled foam swish around without leaving much lacing. Meh.

There's some lemony wheat scents, as expected, but what interests me is the floral notes. They are so strong that upon first smell I thought this was a blonde ale. But then the typical pale wheat aromas came through. The floral notes sort of obscure any hop action that may or may not be going on.

The floral notes! They are assertive! This tastes mostly like dandelions and honeysuckle. There's wheat too. And very light traces of lemon. But mostly floral notes. And I'm Ok with that.

Light body, lively carbonation, low ABV%... what's not to like? This feels correct when drinking and you can drink quite a few of them provided you're into sessioning something that isn't very complex.

This is like a blonde ale/pale wheat hybrid. I think it mostly succeeds.

Yellow straw gold color. 1/2 finger of pale foam gives way to thin cap of foam. No lace.

Weak nose. Faint citrus and lemongrass. Slightly tangy. Malt in the nose, too.

Flavor is pretty sweet. Lemon mostly with a strong malt backing. Slightly sour finish.

Decent malt body, too.

Easy session beer on a hot day.

A - Pours a surprisingly pale yellow. Was expecting something with a slightly more orange hue. Even in a champagne flute (don't ask why I used this) the beer was very opaque. Minimal head and retention and virtually no lacing.

Ar - Can't pick much up besides citrus and light banana with some cloves.

T - Fairly light body. Nothing really stands out in the taste, not even the wheat. Does have a bit of spice in the finish (almost peppery?)

D - Served cold enough this beer would go down easy and refresh on a hot day. Save it for the poolside.

Notes are from last weekend.

Betty's a bit pale, something of a pale yellow-gold color. The head is soft and by no means permanent, but there's enough of a foam the rest of the way and thin, light lacing to just push this past mediocre.
Wheat forms a backbone in an otherwise surprisingly hops-intensive(for the style) aroma with lemon zest and an interesting yeast note. The hops aromas are spicy and citric.
The flavor is a little paler, with more of the yeast coming up front and a banana note I wasn't expecting. Wheat retreats to the background in here so more of the citrus and spice comes out. Still pale, though.
The body is light and, with a moderate carbonation and a good crispness, this one is pretty refreshing.

12oz bottle poured into a 12oz tumbler.

I'm sweatin' up a storm after cooking up some Old Rasputin beef stew, so I figured this would be appropriate.

Pours a very crisp light golden color with a nice creamy one finger white head that looks awesome, nice light streams of bubbles up the side. Nose is not so nice, it's got a bit of a chemical note to it, also some very faint hops.

Very fruity, very light, a bit of that clearning solution from the nose comes through as well. It's a good intro to craft beer, nothing to write home about. Theres a bit of a lemon that I'm starting to notice as well. Mouthfeel is nice and big with lots of carbonation.

It's a good hot day drinker but I wouldn't get it again.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle marked Oct 07 2010 and sampled on August 17, 2010. The pour is pale yellow and very cloudy with a thinner but slightly foamy white head that never quite fades. Banana, wheat, and yeast aromas are the first to greet the nose. The taste is about the same with a comforting fresh hop ending. Really not all that bad and fairly easy to drink.

Had on tap at a local restaurant. Light gold in color with a solid fluffy head. No real lacing to speak of. Fairly cloudy. Smells yeasty and slightly like bananas with lemon and coriander aromas on top. Taste is slightly tarty with bits of the lemon and coriander. Has a solid, high carbonation level. Very drinkable, particularly in the summertime!

Not an earth shattering beer by any means, but a solid, quality summer wheat ale that is both light and delicious.
