12 oz bottle from mix pack, 2 months from drink by date, guessing that makes it 4 months old, not ideal not terrible though.
A: Somewhere between an amber and yellow, "west coast" ipa in color. Pours a small white head, dissipated pretty quickly, with a some lacing but not very much.
S: Not overwhelming, citrus based hops, quite sweet in flavor, sour orange, not much maltiness, smells good though.
T: Hops right up front, initially an earthy/grassy/marijuana flavor of hops, then a very sweet citrus, more pineapple than grapefruit, not overly bitterr. For color has a nice malt backbone, wasnt expecting this, not overly dark but a nice molasses/rasin bread flavor.
M: A tad thin, decent to low carbonation, had a oily slick to it though, tasted more like a 6.5% than 7.2% (not necessarily good or bad, flavor wasnt overwhelming) One of the more session-able ipas.
O: Solid brew from Boulder, i recall it being much hoppier when fresher. Nothing crazy but its a good brew from a good value brewery. You defnitely get your moneys worth and wont be disappointing.

Appearance - One finger of head, nice lacing down the glass, dark orange, hazy
Smell - Nice mix of citrus and pine, detect some malt in the background, nice balance
Taste - A nice mix between malt and hops. Obviously hop's in the forefront. Doesn't make you pucker, nice, easy drinking. Nice balance
Mouthfeel - Not too thin, good body, not overly carbonated
Overall - Nice IPA, had one in my fridge thanks to a friend, but wouldn't necessarily seek out again.

Boulder Mojo IPA: Had this one on tap at a restaurant. Not my preferred way to review a beer, but here goes. Nice amber color with a finger of white foamy head. Good aroma comes through with floral hop notes. Taste is nice and even. The malt is not too sweet, the hops come through in a good way and finish with a touch of bitter. This is a good middle of the road IPA that most should like.

Color of the body is incredibly weak! Great foamy head though. What little body it does have is a clear peach coloring. Smell is tangy, resiny, sticky sweet grapefruit. The smell is superb! It is as fresh as it gets and it stacks up to top notch IPA's. Taste is well rounded. Has a really nice and clean bitterness. Tangy sweet caramel grapefruit and a heavy dose of bitterness. Just a tad too sweet but not enough to make it not great. Very glad to have found this fresh finally and worthy of rotation. I think it has a stigma just because the brewery is perceived as sub par but don't let that discourage you.

Poured from their 12oz beer bottle -
Appearance - Poured almost 2 fingers of tight bright white head, color of the beer is a slightly hazy yellow amber color, very nice lacing.
Smell - Big citrus scent, grapefruit, tangerine and pineapple, touch of pine.
Taste - Wow, really bright citrus flavors here. Ripe yellow grapefruits, some tangerine and grapefruit peel, floral hops, dry slightly sweet biscuits in the background. Not a lot of complexity but some great balance here. Some pine comes long into the finish.
Mouthfeel - Lite mouthfeel, medium carb, this beer is very crisp with carb providing a light, bright feel, and some edges on the sides of the tongue.
Overall - A solid, citrus forward ipa. There is just enough sweetness to offset the citrus peel flavors but this really is not a sweet ipa at all. This beer both looks and tastes bright and citrussy, with plenty of bittering and dryness in the finish, almost puckering. This would be a great summer thirst quencher.

One of my favorite citrus style IPAs. I'm slightly biased as beers with centennial hops are always my favorite.
A- light bodied and pale in color. Head retention was good and really trapped in the hoppy taste of the beer.
S- Nothing over powering but you can get a hint of citrus.
T- a light citrus style. Hops for sure over power any malt characteristic but you can really taste the centennial hops.
O-Great beer, great brewery would recommend it to anyone just starting to drink IPAs as its not the most intense beer of the style but still has enough hop to satisfy the hophead in me.

served on-tap in a standard pint glass.
appears golden yellow with some amber highlights, white head. aroma is about average for the style, floral and citrus hops, but not as refined as other IPA's. taste is dominated by the hops, with a little malt to back it up. body is thin to medium, higher carbonation.
overall, a standard west coast IPA, nothing special.

22oz bomber.
Appearance is a hazy light gold with a one finger head. The head is quick to fade but leaves decent lacing.
Smell is not all that impressive. There are some citrusy notes along with some orange/tangerine sweet scents but nothing is very strong or stands out significantly.
The taste is rather interesting. It starts off with a nice fruity sweetness that I associate with stronger ipa's but this soon fades and is replaced by a biscuity maltiness. Finally there are some slight citrusy hop notes. A decent bitterness pervades throughout.
Overall, I think this is a pretty good beer but one that definitely should be enjoyed fresh. This bottle is best by Nov. 30 so not as fresh as it should be. I really think if I had this fresh, those hop flavors would make this beer excellent.

A new beer in our area to try....
Poured into my usual glass and got a bright gold clear body with medium head and good lacing.
Nose at first was perfumy but it came around and became citrus.
Taste is fairly malty, but of course the hops are there. It says "Enjoy by Nov. 30 2011" so it would probably be much better if you could get this right off the truck.
Mouth feel was a little weak as well. Not flat but just didn't have enough bite for me.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with this beer, except I have had some fresh ones(other brands) lately and now the stuff that has been on the shelf for a bit isn't strong enough!! I used to like the balanced flavor. I will try this again

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass
Appearance: The beer is golden yellow with slight signs of carbonation coming up through the side of the glass. One finger head reduced to a thin layer and left some lacing on the side of the glass.
Smell: Slight citrusy and grapefruit scent. Pretty weak scent with nothing else going on.
Taste: A lot better. Sweet caramel malts, same citrusy tastes, and boozy alcohol towards the end. Some biscuit going on there too. Very nice.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, medium bodied, medium carbonation, and a little chewy.
Overall: I have had this before and remember it be a great beer. Maybe the beer is a bit old and maybe I need to go to the brewery in Boulder again next month. Still going to be buying this over and over.

bigtime ipa. this one pours a brassy gold color with a modest white head. whoa hops in the nose, i smell major american varieties, man bold. taste is less intense than the nose, but stands up to some spicy chips and salsa real well. this is a really pungent hoppy brew, mouthfeel matches perfectly, lighter side of medium bodied with a nice balanced carbonation and finish. not necessarily remarkable for being different, but just a really well made ipa, and the abv can render you useless after a long hike if you arent careful...

A = Nice golden appearance little lighter than a normal IPA, head was a bit lite too. Not very thick
S = Smelled amazing, sweetness with a light malt to it
T = Not the best, I would call it average. Citrus and a bit too bitter than normal IPA. Almost a hint of metallic to it too.
M = Lot of linger on the palatte and bit of dryness late.
O = Good not great beer, would have again though. B range is about right.

Pours a light pale yellow/orange with a settling white head.
Smells of dank, juicy hops with lots of tropical fruity citrus aromas.
Taste is similar to smell with an abrupt introduction to hop bitterness and mouth watering complexity. Malts come through after searching and warming offering an ideal balance.
Decent IPA. Would try it again.

Had this at the Jamison Pourhouse on nitro tap.
Poured a pale golden orange with, of course, a billowing dense head from the nitrogen.
Aromas of caramel malts and refreshing hops.
Tastes more akin to an ESB. That was more then likely due to the nitrogen. From the nitro this beer has a more malty asspect, caramel sweetness. The hop flavor has mellowed into a more sutle pine resin and floral flavor.
The mouthfeel on this particular beer being nitro is rather thick and creamy. Lite bitterness at the end with only a hint of aftertaste, clean.
I had this beer before, nitro seem to scrub out all the harshness and leave a more drinkable, smoother beer.

12oz bottle poured into Duvel snifter. Enjoy by Jan 12 2012 stamped on neck.
Appearance - Huge billowing barely offwhite head. Hazy amber body.
Smell - Moderate spicey hop. sweet undercurrent promises to balance out the taste.
Taste - Sweet. Hoppy with a slightly bitter but mostly clean finish. Not much of an aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Medium body. Almost creamy. A bit sticky.
Overall Drinkability - Decent beer. Some balance. Not particularly complex.

22oz bomber poured into a pint glass.
A- Light copper color. One finger white head that goes fast and leaves decent sheeted lacing.
S- Light citrus, pine, bready malts come through lightly. Slight alcohol heat
T- Mango with a nice bitter piney attribute. Sweet bready malts in the finish.
M- Highly carbonated. Medium mouthfeel for the style. Easy to drink.
O- Good IPA. This bomber tastes better than I remember, maybe a recipe change?

On-tap at Boulder Beer Tap House at the Denver Airport
A: The beer pours a clear pale golden color with a white head and some lacing.
S: Not the hoppiest nose on this. Floral and sweet citrus hops with some more subtle tangerine and orange aromas. A sweet bread malt aroma, too.
T: Sweet on the palate as well (seems to be a trend). A bit of pine and some light apricot notes. Sweet bread and a faint toffee flavor is there as well. A light citrus flavor, perhaps tangerine just a bit of grapefruit.
M: Medium bodied with a medium carbonation.
O: As far as IPAs go, this was middle of the road at best.

On draft at Brixx in Charlottesville, VA.
One finger off-white head, clear gold body. For some reason, my glass had a tiny leaf in it. Probably the glass, not the beer. Good lace.
Smells like fresh hops and that's it.
Taste is actually much milder. Some floral hops on the front, honey, some fruity sweetness-- quite nice.
Subtly textured feel.
Better than expected. Well balanced.

Poured a cloudy bronze color with quite a bit of beige head on it.
Smell is decently hoppy with some citrus and malt coming through.
Taste is pretty balanced although this one may not be the freshest. Nice hop kick in the finish though.
Mouthfeel is medium. This IPA has some body to it. Goes down very smooth though.
Overall a pretty darn good beer. I enjoyed it. And I'll definitely look for some fresh stuff in the future.

A: Pours with a really nice thick head that lingers forever. The IPA is bright clear orange.
S: Pine, caramel, tangerine, grapefruit. Smells really tasty.
T: Strong grapefruit at the front, with quick bitter hoppy finish. Lingering bitterness.
M: Not as much carbonation as some IPAs, but I like it that way. Smooth enough to offset the bitterness.
O: A tasty IPA to enjoy with some munchies. The aftertaste is the same as after eating a grapefruit, so it left my taste buds a little raw and in need of escape.

Pours orange / copper / golden color with lingering white head. Had this a bunch of times. Aroma of hops characterized predominantly by citrus notes, with a pound cake malt aspect noticeable as well. Flavor reflects the aroma, dominated by citrus like hops, although it is somewhat balanced for an IPA this bitter with cakey malt undertones. Leaving a lasting bitterness on the finish. Can’t argue with this one, a great rendition of the india pale ale. Full bodied, yet smooth mouth feel, slightly creamy. Nice.

12oz best by Nov. 22, reviewed Sept. 3.
This one's golden, big white head goes quick and doesn't leave much lacing. Kind of bubbly.
Smell is very light--biscuit and pine.
Taste is neither dry nor sweet. Hops are pretty citrusy, but in a way that seems more like lemon than grapefruit to me, though both are there. Some pine. Pretty crisp, not dank or sticky in hop character. Light bready malt beneath, especially in the finish. Also a titch bitter at the end, but not much.
Mouthfeel is smooth and relatively light, making this an easy one to drink.
This one tasted fine, and it would be really easy to down multiple bottles without a problem. But there are better IPAs for less money out there.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into an oversized wine glass:
A- Light copper color with a slight white head that dissipates quickly
S- Smells of cascade and light aroma of pine
T- Quite hoppy for a regular IP. Hop character is quite good. Tastes of pine, with a light citrus flavor. Crisp and nice.
M- Nice carbonation. Nice and smooth
O- Quite good for an IPA. Boulder beer does quite well with their hoppy beers, and this is no exception.

The list of beers that I’ve seen around my beer stores but never tried is longer than I thought, even uncomfortably long. I eagerly embraced New Belgium, dabbled in O’Dell and my first 750ml bottles were almost entirely Avery beers. Boulder Beer never had the same draw, and I’m ashamed to say, the label art kept me away. The appearance of a Boulder mix pack at a recent barbeque was the perfect opportunity to descale my eyes and see the beer behind the wrapper. The Mojo was the best of the lot, offering a surprisingly deep and delicious IPA. As a hop-phobe I found the aroma to be a welcome shock - deep scents of pine, honey and caramel malts. The taste reigns in the ferocious hops bitterness found in some IPAs, instead coupling it with more drops of pine sap flavors to offer a well-rounded, balanced beer. The sugars are sweet, surfing unctuously on a medium body. A sip and a glance at a watch later find a long aftertaste where the dreaded astringency is left behind, slowly dying and wailing as the other flavors evaporate. Aside from this unwelcome loiterer I am wholly impressed. It always feels good to find another drinkable IPA, especially from a local brewer, and even better, at a barbeque with a box of bottled surprises.
