Pours a clear yellowish orange color with a thick head. Some minimal lacing occurs. Carbonation levels are decent. The aroma is very floral and malt is detectable. The flavor focuses on the bitterness with a thick malt background. Citrus tones round out the flavor.

The mouthfeel is smooth and the finish is long on the bitterness. This brew was medium to almost heavy in body. By the end the bitterness was a bit too overpowering to make this more than a slightly above average drinkability brew.

Pours hazy orange with a thin, firm head. Some lacing sticks to the glass.

It has a strong, floral, slightly citrusy aroma.

The taste is of thick, chewy floral hops. Lemony and peppery finish. Not a bad taste at all. Little malt. Sharp.

Medium to full-bodied. Very dry with some astringency. Not bad for sipping though.

This is a hoppy one - liked munching on an alcohol-laced Amarillo hop. I can appreciate hoppiness and was set on a hoppy beer, but too much of one hop and alcohol comes through too much to be a more than a one and move on..(if any taste buds are left).

Pours a hazy amber orange with a short white head. The aroma is of pine, orange, pineapple, grapefruit and a hint of spice. Very juicy hops overall, the flavor has a reasonable harsh bitterness, noting over the top. There's a citrus rind edge in with the fruit and pine. I might get a touch of diacetyl, but its nothing that detracts from the beer. The aftertaste could use a little more lingering bitterness, but there's also a nice apricot and grassy element that comes out. Let this one warm up, it's not the biggest, but it's a very nice IPA.

A bottle of Mojo from Liquid Solutions. This is the first bottle in my Mojo-Mojo Risin' horizontal tasting. The follow-up review on Mojo Risin' is http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/130/35246/?ba=akorsak.

A: The IPA has an amber orange color with a slight haze. The head weighed in close to 1 finger and looks to lace nicely in the glass.

S: The hop aroma is unmistakable, providing a piney kick that is well-matched with a biscuity malt body.

T: The first thought that strikes me as I sip the beer is that it is unfocused. The hops are strong and bitter on first taste, but they never coalesce into a clearly definable flavor. Some piney oils and lemon rind hops stand out initially but they never seem to overcome the bitterness aspect and shine. The malts that provide the foundation as cereal biscuity and don't get in the way of the hops.

M: The hops are firm and pleasing, even if they never quite define themselves. I do find that a nice hoppy aftertaste lingers long in the mouth.

D: The ale is a decent, but not exception IPA. The hops are stroing at times but rarely leave a memorable element.

Appearance: Slightly hazed orange copper off white head fine sporadic lacing is left, not bad. Aroma: Citrus, hop leaf grassy notes along with grapefruit tones balanced with a rolling malt base that is evident here. Taste: Hoppy IPA, the bitterness takes shape with a rolling pine and citrus mainly grapefruit expression, with the malt base forming a creamy sweetness blended with the solid offering of hops. Mouthfeel was medium bodied with a nice strong carbonation and slightly oily somewhat resinous texture. Drinkability: Very nice all around IPA served on draft at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse, hop burps were plentiful.

The first thing I thought when I poured this was: “Ooh. Nice color.” Crystal clear with a gold/orange hue. Some head that seems to be leaving a good bit of lacing on the way down. Nose is heavy on the hops. Flavor is slightly tart with that thick hop presence. Feel is high in carbonation and comfortable. Very drinkable, if you can deal with the hops.

T: has a nice fuity taste to it, like a piece of juicy fruit bubble gum but tamer.

I love what nitrogen does to a beer. Rich, foamy head that required the bartender to pour it over a two minute period. The head stuck around during the entire tasting, leaving a blanket of lace after every sip. The broth is relatively clear with a gold amber color.

Mild prickliness from the hop. Rather nondescript.

Peppery hop bite with a evergreen kick. Overall, this is rather one-dimensional but is good for hop heads. Long aftertaste. Full bodied with an appropriate level of carbonation.

A - Pours a slightly cloudy golden color, nice carbonation, nice small head, some lacing afterwards.

S - Scents of hops, malts, yeast, citrus, and some spices.

T - The taste is hoppy and sweet, really does not taste like a 7% ABV brew, guess the alcohol is hidden well.

M - Medium body.

D - Very drinkable. A nice offering from Boulder Beer.

Pours a two-fingered off-white head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Clear amber color. Moderate hoppy/floral nose. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Starts bitter, and plenty of hops, hints of sweetness. Bitter aftertaste. $1.75 for a 12oz bottle from Julio's Liquors Westborough, Ma.

(Served in an American pint glass)

A- This beer pours a warm orange body with a thick creamy white head. Gentle carbonation floats to the top of this body with a very slight haze.

S- During the pour a wonderful citrus hop aroma was wafting through the air. The smell of citrus hops is balanced with a sweet light malt backbone.

T- This beer has a smooth citrus hops blast with a bit of hop spiciness. The notes of grapefruit finish the hop taste and nice mild hop bitterness finishes this beer. A very light malt and fresh grain taste mixes with the grapefruit notes in the taste.

M-Medium mouthfeel with some creaminess but no astringency or alcohol warmth.

D- This is a solid AIPA. The hops are bold and have a good support from the grain bill. Very well put together and smooth to drink.

On tap in my big ass mug at Bukowski's Tavern - Boston, MA

Hoppily hazed amber with a most excellent head. Smells of rought to aromatic hops ... the hop flavor is the same, rough to oily floral. Deep pocket of pale malt character within the thickness of the hops. Nice brew for the hops heads ... after one mug I was done. A good beer none the less.

On tap, poured and light amber and clear. white head, leaving thin rings of lacing. Grainy, resiny hop nose. Hops here are citrusy and have a healthy biting nature. Agressive, American syle IPA. Enough malt to smooth out the ride. Nice long hoppy dry finish. Nicely put together, agresssive IPA.

12oz bottle from nvsblman as part of BIF 19. Thanks for the opportunity.

Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed 1/2" beige head above the slightly cloudy orangey golden brew. Head lasts okay, with nice lacing. Aroma is pungent green hops. Taste starts with reasonably sweetness, and then the hops slowly begin to move in and take over. Flavor profile melds together very nicely. This brew has the softest initial mouthfeel of any I think I've had, and couples with incredible smoothness, especially for a hoppy brew. This makes the drinkability excellent as well. Terrific brew.

Thanks to warriorsoul for this one.

Appears a light golden color with a thick white head and tons of carbonation that never quits. Plenty of thick lacing.
Smell is of sugary malt and woody, pine notes.
Taste is of light malty resin with wood, pine, and lemongrass.
Mouthfeel is smooth and buttery with a mild hopiness that flows across the tongue.
Drinkability is nice. Nothing over the top and very enjoyable.

Finger licking good.

22-Oz bomber I brought back from Albuquerque.

Pours a mildly hazy amber colored beer with an OK head.

Smell is malt and pleasant citrus, mint, menthol and pine scents from the hops. Sweet malt has a cracker smell to it. Good balance that doesn't hake your nasal passages itch.

Taste is neutral sweetness with grassy and lemon sour hop flavors in the first taste. Grassy hops and slight bitterness are the major flavors next with a nice aromatic hop burp. One of the milder flavored IPAs and that isn't a bad thing; Stone Ruination isn't a "Normal IPA." This one builds in flavor as you drink it rather than numbing your sense of taste in two sips. Very good IPA for a non-hop head.

Mouthfeel is good.

A nice tasty IPA that non-hop heads can enjoy but this is by no means a weak IPA, just a well-balanced one. Still this isn't a flavorless beer just not an over the top version of the style.

Pours an amber orange, slightly hazy, small white head forms but sticks around, good lace. Smell is citrusy, piney hops, substantial malt base. Taste is lots of pine, sweet malty middle, some alcohol, and a citrus and pine bitter finish. Medium body, low carb, very tasty, would definately try again.

Clear amber tone with a thin, fluffy eggshell colored head. Lace is moderate. On the nose...smoky cannabis, pineapple, lemon rind and hop resin. Awesome aroma. On the buds, some more bong resin, pineapple and rind characteristics. The bitterness is fairly clean and enjoyable. Underneath all the hop activities lies an unassuming caramel and toffee base. But this beer's all about the hops. 'Rillos to be specific. And it's a hop head's wet dream of an IPA. In this day and age of Double and Imperial IPAs, truly solid IPAs are harder to find. This is one of them.

Solid IPA. Orange pour, average head, big hops in the nose, must have some good dry hopping.

Taste, good whallop of bitterness, strong malt backing too. Kinda thick relatively speaking. Becomes grainier downbottle. Bitterness gets stronger, dry hop characteristics become more subdued. Like it more in the beginning.

A little pricey, but definitely worth a try if you're a hop guy and you've never had this.

EDIT: I've had a few more of these, and they just seem to go downhill more and more. Even though the best by date is still a month away, it just doesn't have what it takes to make it a good recommendation for a hophead.

Single 12 ounce bottle when I was in Arizona, and I should have gotten more. On to the beer:

This IPA is a clean bodied, pale orange color with a persistent rocky head. Lots of lacing is left on the sides of my chalice. The aroma is mild, but full of those little green flowers. Hops, caramel, a slightly sticky aroma, and fresh cut pine....imagine Pine Sol on the latter. The taste....oh so resiny! Very hoppy, but not overdone. It manages to pull out mango and citric flavors. Maltiness is light, but noticable. My palate love it, and it's lush oily feel is a mere bonus.

I love my San Diego IPA's, and I live 90 minutes from San Diego, so you know I get them fresh. But I regreat to inform San Diego that their offerings have been dethroned by Mojo IPA. This isn't as much in your face, but still has a beautiful intense hoppy character a hophead would crave. I drank this washing down Italian sausage stuffed tortellini with red gravy, a pairing I thoroughly enjoyed.

Picked this up as a single at Green's on Ponce in Atlanta.

Pours a clear straw color - surprisingly light for the style - with a one-finger white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer of bubbles on top and a thin ring around the glass. Not a whole lot of lacing.

Smells great. Big floral and citrus hop aromas are backed up by a good amount of sweet malt.

Tastes not quite as good as it smells. The hops are still there, but there's not enough malt to back it up. The flavors are there, just not strong enough.

Mouthfeel is good. It's a bit thin, though the carbonation still makes it go down smoothly.

Drinkability is good. If I take a whiff with every sip this goes down very easily, I can get over how good it smells. If only it tasted as good.

Overall this is an interesting IPA in that it's so light and smells as good as it does without backing it up. Give this one a shot and decide for yourself.

The beer after its deportation from the 12-ounce brown bottle sets in the glass a translucent amber color with a presidential sized creamy light tan head that leaves a thick coating of lace upon the glass. Nose has a sweet hop floral aroma, citrus like in its crispness, the start sweet and fully malted with the top middling in its feel to the palate. Finish is modestly carbonated and the hops delectable in their spiciness, dry aftertaste and a nice drinking beer, one I enjoyed quite a lot.

A: Poured a hazy golden-orange with a medium size fluffy white head that was moderately lasting leaving slight streaks for lacing.

S: citric and spicy with some lemon hopping and oranges. Spicy.

T: For flavor there was grapefruit, lemons, and a light grassy hoppiness that provided a tangy bite on the swallow.

M: The body was medium-full with moderate carbonation.

D: Drinkability was very crisp, and citrusy sweet leaving a lemony/citrus lacing that quenches your thirst leaving you looking forward to the next sip.

Clear golden colour, slightly orange. Thin white head with good retention and some lace. Light doughy malt with strong citrus/pine hop character. Resinous hop bitterness, bready malt, lots of soft citrus and pine hop flavour. Drying finish with light alcohol warmth. Moderately light body and carbonation that produces a gentle mouthfeel with very small bubbles. Good balance, flavourful, and something I'd look for again. Thanks Viggo.
