Bottle > Pint Glass
A - Poured a very nice yellow color with a thick 2 finger head, and nice lacing.
S - Smells great! Fresh lemon zest, honey, pine, caramel malts, biscuits, orange juice, and peach.
T - Now this is where things start to fall apart, All the nice fruit flavors mentioned in smell are nearly non existent here, which is a huge shame. Bitter floral hops up front, a little bit of orange and lemon zest, biscuit malt, and some dried flowers, not really that great.
M - Thin feeling, and bitter aftertaste. The alcohol can be felt in this.
O - What started off as a good looking, good smelling beer lets down in the taste department drastically, I'm shocked there was this big of a difference, maybe I need to get a super fresh one, but I cant see it being far off from what I've tasted. For an average IPA, weighing in at 7.2, I'd rather have more flavor.

A: Light orange/yellow. Clear with lots of bubbles. Thin fizzy head that goes away to nothing. Watery looking.
S: Grapefruit and lemon zest. caramel. Touch of pine. A Pleasant smelling IPA.
T: Light grapefruit, citrus. But well balanced with malt. On the sweeter side for an ipa. orange blossom. Again, pleasant.
M: Thin but not completely watery. Appropriate body. Plenty of carbonation. Crisp. Short bitter aftertaste
O: Avery sessionable IPA. Nothing offensive but not complex. The word pleasant just keeps coming to mind.

Serving Type: $1.65 12oz bottle at Total Wine. Poured from the bottle into a Rock Bottom pilsner glass, with a decent aroma collecting top.
Appearance: Amber/orange in color. Not entirely dissimilar from Nugget Nectar, though a high level of clarity. I'd have to guess filtered.
Smell: This is where things fall apart. Just sort of a big mess of Del Monte fruit cocktail, honey, and cheap [herbal glaucoma remedy]. The fruit cocktail became more pronounced as it warmed.
Taste: Oh yeah... big honey and assorted canned fruits. Some tangerine creeping out from under the weighty mess, but not enough to scream "I'M AN IPA!".
Mouthfeel: Actually not bad. Had a decent mouthfeel for an IPA. Neither too thin nor too thick.
Overall: The bottle said: "ENJOY BY MARCH 19", so I'm 13 days away from the end of code, but still... This couldn't be any less of an IPA. I've had worse beers, but I just don't see the point in buying this one again.

22 oz. bomber, enjoy by May 1. Should be pretty fresh then.
A: Clear body, a bit on the light side. Decent retention. Lots of carbonation bubbles floating up to the top.
S: Candy, bread, some alcohol present in the nose.
T: Hmm. Not as many hops as I would like, and a skunky aftertaste. Some citrus, but it comes off tasting like cheap candy.
M: Thin, good carbonation levels though.
O: Not a good beer. I'm going to have a Lagunitas Sucks to wash this bad taste out of my mouth.

Served from tap into a sampler shaker. Poured a golden yellow with a one finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, bread, citrus, pine, and pine hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, pine, citrus, fruit, pine hop, and spicy hop. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty decent brew. I honestly went into this one not really expecting much. However, what I found was surprisingly pretty good. There was a very nice balance of flavors going on here that definitely sparked my interest. While this one was obviously quite hop forward it was by no means overpowering which was very nice. A definite must try if you see it on the menu and have never had it. It might just surprise you like it did me.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
Pours brilliant clear gold, light but a darker top. Light foam layer. Light oily pine nose. But subdued. Light malty bitter taste. Quite mild. Good bitter buzz throughout. Grapefruit flavor, nice and balanced. Sneaky at 7.2%.

A: Pours a clear golden color with a huge off white head. Tons of sticky lacing down the glass.
S: Lots of floral and grapefruit hop notes with a good amount of sweetness. Candied citrus, honey and caramel.
T: Lots of grapefruit, caramel and some floral hops. Middle brings some biscuity malt. A touch of hop resin and a lot of malt sweetness on the finish. Maltier than I'm used to, but still a solid IPA.

Boulder Mojo India Pale Ale pours from the bottle to a gold/tan color with a body that has just the slightest chill haze. The nose on this beer is fruity and just slightly spicy and the foam is good, provided you pour assertively.
The taste of this beer is fruity with the flavor of grapefruit juice dominating. There are some other flavors present as well, like pale malt, bread, caramel, and some pine. Toward the end, I can detect some other fruit flavor, possibly melon, before settling back to the taste of grapefruit.
Mojo IPA is a fruity brew and while there are other flavors present, the taste continues to return to the flavor of grapefruit. It almost seems like actual grapefruit was used in the production, but according to the manufacturer, it doesn’t have any such ingredient- it is the Amarillo hops that help create this grapefruit character.
I love a good IPA and I agree this is a good one and certainly a nice change from other IPA. I don’t think I could drink this as an everyday IPA because the citrus emphasis is not the type of flavor I want to taste on a regular basis. But it is still a good IPA and one worth adding to your list of beers to try.

12. oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
Very little head that quickly dissipated but the carbonation was constant and light. Gave off a very hoppy aroma, with good citrus notes. Pleasant amber color and appealing look. Very good flavor on the front end of the sip, and gets a little stronger as it sits. Good, strong IPA. Definitely one of the better ones out there.

Poured this beer into a stein after letting it sit for a few minutes to warm after taking the bottle out of the refrigerator. Fresh - bottle said drink before February 2013.
Appearance - Nice, transparent amber color. Very light head (possibly due to a weak pour). Head dissipated quickly and clustered nicely after a few sips. Light carbonation.
Smell - Grapefruit/orange-like smell. Smell the hops...
Taste - A hoppy American IPA that is balanced well by the malt flavor. Slightly bitter (but not overwhelming). Grapefruit, orange-like flavor.
Mouthfeel - Light on the palate; not over-carbonated but hoppy.
Overall - A good American IPA, overall, but a little hoppy for my taste (I'm not a hop-head!). I would have liked a thicker head but I haven't had the opportunity to drink this from a tap yet. Enjoyed the grapefruit/orange-like taste but found it a little bitter for my taste. That said, though I wouldn't seek this beer out, I would be happy to drink another pint if it was available at a pub that I happened to be at.

Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – Pours a clear golden amber colored beer with a two finger white head. The head has a great level of retention slowly fading over time to give a great level of lacing.
Smell- The aroma is of a bready malt and a caramel sweetness. Mixed with these smells are aromas of grapefruit hop as well as a lighter pine hop aroma.
Taste – The taste starts out as a bready flavor mixed with a light caramel sweetness. Right at the start there is a good grapefruit hop flavor. A light pine hop joins the taste soon after the initial taste, with the caramel fading in intensity. As the taste goes on from the middle to the end the grapefruit and pine really picks up in intensity. A very resinous hop flavor dominates the taste at the end where it leaves a bitter hop flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the beer is a little bit on the creamier side with a carbonation level that is rather average. The average level of carbonation is good for keep it drinkable while the body accentuates the resinous flavors quite well.
Overall – A nice biting and bitter , but drinkable IPA. While not the smoothest, if you want a good hop flavor this is a good one to go to.

12 ounce bottle poured into a New Belgium glass.
This beer pours up a nice medium gold with not much head and not a whole lot of lacing. It gets better from there. The nose is floral and pine with a little bit of spiciness to it. Taste is good. Up front I get some sweet maltiness with the citrus tanginess and a good bitterness on the finish. No need to try and pick out all the subtlies. It is just a good beer. Mouthfeel was adequate carbonation and no nasty aftertaste. Try it if you haven't.

A very nice single finger nitro formed head on an orangey golden cloudy body. Aroma of Pungent floral, resin and earthy hops. Flavor follows with sharp peppery bite and more pine resin, tart citrus and floral notes. Fairly well balanced by the malty base. Smooth nitro feel is nice as the bite from the booze and hops combined with normal carbonation would set this one back for me. The booze just dominate for me and are set off even more by the hop profile to really enjoy this one.

Blonde creamy white head - will layer the outside of the glass all the way through the drink.
S- grapefruit, clementine, orange, little banana
T-citrus and subtle banana, very hoppy on the back, but nice malts for balance except for an expected hoppy lingering bitterness
Mf - nitro. Always creamy and delicious. Nice blend with this bitterness. really love nitro taps
overall - big fan. Really nice for. 7.2. Have to embrace the late bitterness to like it. Nitro likely biased me higher than I would have been otherwise.

I love what nitrogen does to a beer. Rich, foamy head that required the bartender to pour it over a two minute period. The head stuck around during the entire tasting, leaving a blanket of lace after every sip. The broth is relatively clear with a gold amber color.
Mild prickliness from the hop. Rather nondescript.
Peppery hop bite with a evergreen kick. Overall, this is rather one-dimensional but is good for hop heads. Long aftertaste. Full bodied with an appropriate level of carbonation.

I like the color and the way it pours into the glass. Very neat, light amber brown color. Little pale for an IPA. Extremely transparent. Little head. A good number of bubbles rising up.
Decent smell. Some hops that are piney, citrus and a hint of malt.
Taste is very IPAish. Normal bit of hops upfront not very bitter. Followed by malt sweetness.
Medium bodied mouth feel. Not a lot of oils.
A good IPA overall. Nothing wrong with it. Good drink-ability. Boulder also have the DIPA in their mojo series, which of course is a bit better, for a hop head like me. Good alcohol strength of 7.2 as marked on bottle. Go for it. You won't be disappointed. Neither will you be amazed.

Growler filed from Charleston Beer Exchange, SC
A-Pours a light amber with golden/orange undertones. Highly carbonated with a very clean frothy white head that sits atop the beer.
S-Very sharp notes of both melon and grapefruit. Undertones of lemon zest wrap up the citrus scent that are balanced nicely by the hop bitterness.
M-Very smooth, bigger body than anticipated, but nice carbonation make the beer very drinkable.
T- Very balanced taste. The citrusy grapefruit and melon are the two biggest notes, but the hop flavor adds some very appreciated complexity. I also got a but of apple towards the end which did make it fairly unique.
O-Nothing sexy about mojo, but it is consistently tasty that makes a very nice beer.

Had on August 16, 2012 at the Seven Monks Taproom in Traverse City, Michigan.
Bright, cloudy gold in color, with a luxurious head of frothy foam.
Aroma-Subtle citrus hops hidden under huge cloud deck of foam.
Taste-Super creamy and smooth-Hop bitterness subdued but very tasty citrus flavors prevail. I was blown away by the creaminess, flavor and all-to-easy drinkability of this nitro-tap IPA. A rare treat. More please!

Pours a clear, dark copper color with a thin, whitish head which leaves minimal splotchy lacing.
Aromas begin fairly pungent and fruity with strong, zesty notes of oily lemon, tangerine rinds and some pineapple. As it warms you can detect the modest notes of pale maltiness.
The tastes begin in reverse with the pale maltiness with scant caramel sweetness. Juicy, ripe hop fruit flavors follow with a firm, but not overbearing bitterness. Very slight biscuity tones also emerge but as the cumulative bitterness builds, they fade away.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Finish is dry with a light, lingering bitterness and a pinch of spicy hops.
Overall this is a solid example of an American IPA. It is not overly bitter, with just enough malt balance and an decent aroma.

Hoppy IPA DAY! I started the day with Hoptimum by Sierra Nevada (which is effing amazing). This is my second. I hope to knock off a couple more... probably at least Smuttynose since I know it is very good.
I poured this into a DFH, chalice style glass. Looks like the typical orangy IPA with about two fingers of sticky head. This leads to some decent lacing.
I get a bunch of flowers from the top. I was surprised by the lack of citrus.
Flavor was pretty good. I like the fix of hops and decent hopping. It has good balance.
I would say that this is a pretty good IPA. It is a nice departure from those citrus bombs. I recommend trying this out to mix it up.

Pours a slightly hazy golden apricot color with minimal ivory head that leaves substantial lacing as it dissipates into a thin layer of film.
Aroma is resiny, with a fairly bready malt aroma, ending with pine and a hint of citrus.
Flavor is far more brutally hoppy. Resin and pine hit early, carrying strongly into a significantly bitter finish. Undertones of grapefruit pith and perfumey hops add complexity. Tastes like biting on a pine tree at some points. A minty note pervades as it warms. Malt character is definitely an afterthought.
Body is a touch watery, with moderate carbonation, and a bit of hop derived astringency is present at the finish.
Overall, far hoppier in flavor than aroma. Substantial bitterness and hop presence, though bittering hops definitely dominate. More flavoring hops would improve the experience.

Had at Tommy Doyle's in Cambridge, MA in nitro tap
A: beautiful micro bubbles, but not great carbonation beads; light orange, clear; very good lacing
S: very grassy and hoppy
T: hops are dank, charred; a slight vanilla flavor threads its way through a complex bittering hop profile that outbalances the malt
I dislike this IPA, but it deserves some attention. I'm not certain what the nitro tap did to this brew, but I imagine it is even more bitter from a bottle

I had three or four samples of Boulder's Mojo IPA at a beer festival in Frankenmuth. I always thought about picking up one of these but never got around to it so when I saw it was on tap at the beer festival I thought I should give it a chance, so lets see how it goes. Poured on tap into a 4oz plastic boot.
A- I like the label on this beer, it looks nice. It a poured a golden yellow color that took on an orange tint when held to the light, it had one fingers worth of slightly off white head that died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end. The beer didn't look to bad.
S- The first thing that I pick up is a slightly stale malt aroma that has a medium amount of sweetness and imparts some bready and grainy aromas. Up next comes the hops that seem to be floral and citrusy with the citrus seeming to stick out the most with some pineapple aromas and a slight pine aroma towards the end. The aroma was good, I liked the citrus hop aromas.
T- The taste seems is a little similar to the aroma. It starts off with some grainy and bready malts with a medium amount of sweetness, they have a stale flavor that is a little off putting. The hops aren't as citrusy as they were in the aroma and impart a king of weird pine and floral taste. It had a light amount of medium bitterness, with a grainy and slightly floral aftertaste. This was a pretty average tasting American IPA.
M- Not that smooth, slightly creamy, medium bodied, with a medium amount of carbonation, the mouthfeel seemed to be pretty average.
Overall I wasn't impressed with this beer and I thought that it was a pretty average example of an American IPA, the beer just didn't come together as well as it should have. This beer doesn't have the best drinkability, it isn't too smooth and the flavors don't hold my interest. What I liked most about this beer was the aroma, it had some nice hoppy citrus aspects to it and it also didn't look that bad. What I liked the least about the beer was the bland malt base and the weird hop profile in the flavor, it just didn't work for me. I wouldn't buy this beer again and this isn't an IPA that I would recommend to anybody I liked. This was my first beer from this brewery and it didn't make for the best first impression, all in all just an average American IPA that isn't memerable, I hope the Mojo Risin is much better since I already bought a bottle of it.
