12oz bottle (no date) poured into a milkshake pilsner glass.
Appearance: Dark coppery orange with brown notes on the table - hazy coppery orange when held up to the light. Slow pour did bring along some sediment, but not a lot and it did not appear to affect the appearance of the beer. Light tan thin foam across the top with little islands of foam and a few persistent strands of lacing. Good looking beer.
Smell: Orange citrus with a solid caramel and roasted malt background. With a swirl the hops get a bit more floral with mixed citrus and pine notes.
Taste: Quick hoppy citrus/orange bite up front and then a roasted malt middle, with a caramel and slightly butter malt end. The finish is a lingering pine resin bitterness. The malt in the middle really stands out, but gets balanced by the bitter finish. Good beer.
Mouthfeel: Mild carbonation, quite thick and creamy mouthfeel with all that malt in there. Nice.
Overall / Drinkability: Not a hop bomb of a DIPA, which is different given what I've been having all summer, but this is a nice change. Perhaps a bit more malt forward than what I'm used to, but still quite good - the roasted malts are a nice touch. Went pretty good with pulled pork sandwiches. Alcohol is well hidden, but towards the end of the glass I'm starting to feel it - so one per night is all I'll have here. Still, a good DIPA but if you're looking for something with a lot of hop presence you'll be disappointed in my opinion. I rather like malt sweetness though so this one works well for me. Thanks Sneaky Pete - good dog!

A- It pours a clear Crimson with some "floaties". It has a light tan head with excellent retention. There are thick sheets of lacing down the sides of my glass with each sip.
S- Lots of piney and citrusy hops, backed by a healthy caramel malt backbone.
T- Caramel, grapefruit, citrus rind, papaya. The finish is dominated by grapefruit, with a moderate hop bitterness. It comes across sweeter than I had expected.
M- Medium bodied, Carbonation is light. Velvety. A bit sticky as well.
O- Another winner from Laughing Dog brewery.
