Growler filled at the brewery yesterday.
They are calling it an "American pale ale". But its closer to a strong ale in flavor (if not in alcohol percent) or a brawny, hopped up brown ale.
Pours dark honey amber, tan head that stays but is on the thinner side of 1/2 inch. Moderate collar, a thicker film below nice fine, scattered lacing.
I get some pine, some mint and solid bready malts on the nose.
Dense waves of malt. Some light earthy smoke and peat qualities. All along with a solid and quite drying hop presence in the finish.
Well done-go get some-more quality brew from the Captian

Pilot Batch #25 in tasting room,
Pours a dark amber with nice coffee color head.
Smells of rich malts with nice sweet mollases and touch of dark fruit with pine and light citrus notes.
Tastes of complex dry malts (5 types used). Slightly sweet with hoppy dark fruit middle, a bit chewy. Bitter on finish with lingering pine and wet earth.
Medium to full body with just enough carbonation.
Serving type: on-tap
