Rich and robust, this moderately hopped ale balances dark and chocolate malt flavours with an earthy finish. Brewed in Prince Edward County, using only malted barley, hops, yeast and water.

I tried this beer on tap on May 5, 2011 at "C'est What" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a clear dark copper colour with a this off-white head. The aroma was roasted malt, nuts, and mild caramel. Rhe mouthfeel was mediuym bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was roasted malt, coffee, and nuts. I found it quite refreshing as it went down very easy.

473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for $2.95 CDN.
Appearance - Pours dark cola brown, and with a finger plus of light brown head. Good retention and some streaky lacing.
Smell - Grainy with some earthy and nutty undertones. Suggestion of caramel and molasses.
Taste - Earthy with middling bitterness. Caramel, nuts and even molasses are in play here too. Not super complex but with some sophistication and good execution.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied and on the lighter end carbonation-wise. Somewhat chalky dry finish.
Overall - Better than I expected, and quite good to see this underbrewed style on local shelves. Worth a peek.
