Tasting this one at Uncle Fred's

Appears a clear golden yellow with a three finger head. Full, thick white head that falls to a blanket. Nice lace. Smell is typical banana and clove - this one heavier on the clove. Some gentle malt sweetness. Taste has more of a balance between the banana and clove. Damn nice. The mouthfeel is splendid. Mellow and soft on the carbonation. Wow a real nice feeling beer. Light body.
A really drinkable hefe. I will drink this whenever I see it!

A: The beer is clear golden yellow in color and has a high amount of visible carbonation. It poured into a weizen glass with a two finger high head that died down but has good retention properties as it never disappeared altogether.
S: There are light to moderate aromas of apples, bananas, lemons and clove in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell with added flavors of wheat and a slight amount of sweetness.
M: It feels light-bodied and smooth on the palate with a high amount of carbonation.
D: The beer is very easy to drink, refreshing and thirst quenching.

I used to drink beers from these all the time when I was TDY in Bavaria, good times, here one for nostalgia! Indiscernible date coding, but seems fresh...

Pours a light straw color with 2+ fingers of ivory colored head. Above average head retention & some lacing

S: Slight juicy fruit notes, some banana

T: Follows the nose, slight grassyness as well. green banana & light grassyness & cloves are there as this warms & a touch of dryness. Finishes juicy, with slight lemon & hay notes, plus banana peel

MF: Light/medium bodied, semi-firm carbonation

Easy to drink, but really just makes me thirsty for hefe....

I hope that I get more of Tucher's offerings soon (besides the dunkles I bought the same day...

Big Head, three fingers of white foam, taking a good three minutes to subside. Lace for days clinging from the top of the glass to the liquid. Color is a 3 on the SRM beer color chart. Started hazy, but cleared in a few minutes. Such flavor in such a light colored beer. Smells like lots of malt, roasted wheat and oats and some hops. Taste is great, well balanced, flavors of malt, citrus, wheat, barley, corn, vanilla, and pepper. Lots of body in my mouth. Not easy on the wallet, but great for the price. Shell out the green for this one.

This beer has a light gold appearance to it, the smell is a very fruity almost banana smell. the taste is a VERY sweet but enjoyable apple/banana taste. its almost too sweet. the mouthfeel on this is amazing. i wish it was never ending personally. As for drinlability i find it hard to do. this beer gave me terrible burps and i was unable to get rid of them. one or two of these and i could honestly say i wouldnt wanna drink anymore because my stomach would feel a little bloated. with that being said its not bad. but its not great.

I poured this into my Wheat glass from a 500ml bottle. It poured out with a creamy white head much like the natural helles weizen, except this is in fact crystal clear. It is a golden straw color with plenty of evervecent bubbles. Smells slightly of bananas and grain. Tastes like a sweet banana bread much like the natural weizen and of a fruity wheat mix. This beer is a little dryer than the natural. Mouthfeel is a little watery and bubbly. Drinkability is good but I prefer the natural weizen over this. However this beer is solid.

(served in a weizen glass)
A- The crystal clear yellow body has a strong carbonation strands of microbubbels leading up to a thick white head of cream foam that last a bit.
S- The light clean white bread note has a faint sulfury green note in the finish.
T- The light fruity flavor malt has a note of clove to it and a dry clean flavor and a light tartness in the finish. There is a taste of mineral water that comes through as the beer opens up.
M- The light mouthfeel has a tight fizzy and a slightly water texture.
D- This beer is really nothing without all the yeast character that its cloudy cousin has. It is a bit bland without much character.

16.9 Ounce brown bottle poured into a wheat glass

Appearance: Very nice clear yellow color with a really good amount of white foamy head.

Smell: Apple and Banana smells are probably the most noticeable with some spices in the background.

Taste: At first there is the nice banana flavor that is followed by some spices giving it that banana bread flavor. That sticks around for a little but then goes away leaving not much of a lingering taste (which I sometimes prefer).

A: blurry golden yellow tones encompass my glass. A slab of clean white foam gathered on top and took its time melting away. A handful of bubbles make there way about to the surface

S: bananas and cloves. This has a deeper smell and more intense whiff than I was previously thinking. I find it more hefeweizen-like...this is not a problem

T: the initial flavors are sweet honey coated bananas sprinkled with some crushed cloves. Next, a nice clean wheat malt character arises. This is followed by a nice crisp, slightly bitter hop character that slaps the tongue. This is a highly satisfying beer. Continual sips unlock a sort of mild bread and yeast character floating about. Pretty solid, still a bit timid for my blood

M: the feel is worthy of noting. I find light to light-mild in feel with a lush level of carbonation. It goes down incredibly smooth, I mean, really smooth. Way to easy to drink

D: great drinker and great stuff, a gratifying beer. High marks

Appearance - Pours a rich, crystal clear, bronze color. Two finger head that lasted through the first few drinks. Active carbonation.

Smell - Sweet, banana and faint spice aroma. Definitely smell the wheat.

Taste - Rich, banana notes up front, with a faint vanilla at the finish, with crisp taste.

Mouthfeel - Light carbonation up front on the tougne, with a smooth finish.

Drinkability - This is a great hefe. I will be drinking it regularly.

Poured into my Weihenstephan Weizen glass, this clear golden brew forms a dense and creamy white head with just the slightest tint. There's plenty of activity throughout and moderate lacing clings here and there as it recedes down the glass.
The aroma is very nearly that of a hefeweizen with perhaps more malt presence. A Belgian yeast strain seems present here, giving way to clear banana and clove notes with a light peppery spice along with just a very light touch of a tangy but not zesty fruits presence (think pineapple).
The malts form the backbone of this one with a sweetness and an underlying fruit presence. The very gentle spice fades out with bready wheat and grains being most present along with the clove and banana. There's a slightly metallic tint in the finish, which brings in light hops bitterness to round it out.
The body is medium and an ample carbonation works well for this particular beer. The constant activity makes for a smooth sip and there's a crisp nip as well.
I'm still fresh to the style, but this one seems like a good example and is a pretty tasty, refreshing beer.

Well I was a little curious when I saw 'malt liquor" on single of beer in the imports section, but it wasn't too expensive for this 16.9oz bottle, so what the hey, I picked a couple up. Turns out they're not bad at all, though not outstanding. I certainly wouldn't group it with "malt liquors" tho, this is a quite decent beer and not just cheep malt liquor.

This clear and golden brew had a decent head but it dissipated after a while, tho some lacing did remain.

The smell was of wheat and a hint of spice or citrus, but wasn't very impressive, tho not in any way unappealing.

The taste was good, wheaty and malty, with light overtones of lemon and an indiscernible, light spiciness. It has ample carbonation and feels nice on the way down.

The drinkability is quite fine, an easy downing beer that would make for an easy going afternoon of barbeque and horseshoes.

I can't say that this beer will ever make a top ten list, but it's certainly worth the moderate price, a good value and tasty little brew.

Pours to a pale yellow with a foamy white head that dissipated fairly quickly but left decent lacing. Nose is a light mixture of wheat, yeast, floral and a hint of bubblegum. Mouthfeel is muted and only slightly tingly. Taste is har dto pick up, as nothing from the nose really stands out. Finsih, while pleasant, is fairly non-descript, although the beer is a nice thirst quencher.

Tucher Kristall Weizen was a golden color with a generous two finger, cream shaded head that displayed good retention.

The aroma was wheat, a little lagerish, and completely inoffensive.

The taste was sweet malt, smooth with no after taste. There was a fruit taste at the back of the throat that I could not quite identify, not lemon, maybe mango? More sweet than sour or bitter though.

The mouth feel was light bodied with sufficient carbonation.

With an ABV of less than 5.5 and a satisfying flavor, Tucher KW is very drinkable.

A solid effort and I was happy that bananas were not a dominating flavor.

Aroma is fairly strong, yeasty and wheaty with just a touch of citrus. It pours a rather wan clear yellow, but at least it has a fairly thick and persistent white head. Flavor is typical for a wheat beer, yeasty and a little thick with more than a hint of lemon, pleasant if not outstanding. Texture is smooth and refreshing and a little tingly.

The Tucher Kristall Weizen is text book. This style is not meant to impress you. It is not meant to take you out, kiss your neck, rub your shoulders, then make sweet, sweet love to you on the waterbed while Motorhead plays on the hi-def surround sound stereo. It's meant to be simple and perfect.
The nose has a bit of honey, a bit of coriander, a bit of wheatfield. The palate has a little texture in the middle but is mainly an upfront faux-mango viscosity and then a back-end mix of orange juice concentrate and bubblegum. All of the above is ghost-whisper faint.
But that's the point. This is not a shouting beer. It is perfect, simple refreshment. Don't look for this to be anything it's not and you'll be deeply, spiritually satisfied.
If you have a dog, sit on your porch in July and watch it hunt a squirrel while you sip this out of a giant mug. I promise you, that's what God's doing at the exact same time.

Poured into a 22 oz pilsner glass.

Clear kristal yellow; almost a clear lemonade color with a nice rocky two inch head and thick lace.

Smell is not pronounced; smells fresh with just a hint of yeasty esters and noble hop.

Taste is very thin and watery but refreshingly crisp with a slight hop bite and a quick dry finish.

Drinkable like a good glass of water. I would seek this out on a extremely hot and humid day where you want to alternate between beer and hidration.

A - pours a clear (some might say crystal) yellow with a gorgeous head on it

S - at first I thought this was going to be a very old beer as it smelled very off on the first couple of whiffs. But as it warmed, hints of banana, spice, and clove came out of hiding.

T - Very clean taste - all the scents noted in the smell took over the palate. Very simple, yet very refreshing and delicious at the same time.

M - kind of watery and thin, nothing to write home about.

D - this is almost too easy to drink. It is a little less flavorful than their regular hefeweizen, but this is still pretty delicious and enjoyable.

Imbibed this one at a hotel in Fort Benning, GA, and so sadly I had no Weizen glass on me at the time. Luckily, the glasses available were semi-wheat-beer-compatible, being a little Hoegaarden-esque.

As is to be expected, this beer pours crystal clear and bubbly, bright gold in color and with a huge, everlasting rocky white head.

The nose is bright and a little fruity, with fragrant notes of pineapple and mango, along with just a whiff of banana, white pepper and clove.

Light and effervescent, flavor notes are not disimilar to the nose, with some slightly sweet malt up front with fruity notes apparent; spicy phenols show up in the middle, with hefty peppery notes and some subdued clove, some banana lies almost hidden underneath; a mild hop bitterness helps to dry things out toward the end and the finish is dry and clean.

Much cleaner and more easily drinkable than most Hefeweizens, this would be an even better introductory beer for macro drinkers than the standard unfiltered version. My first filtered Hefe, I'm impressed by the crisp drinkability of this style.

A: Pours a clear golden yellow with a massive white head that's reminiscent of whipped meringue. Thick, symmetrical rings of lace all the way down the glass. Score: 4.5

S: Typical hefeweizen aromas of banana and clove, but also some raw grain flavor, light bubblegum, and a dry fruitiness. Not quite as bold as a hefeweizen, but still interesting and good. Score: 4

T&M: Highly subdued flavors of banana and light clove, but there's a lot more clean wheat flavor with a pale grainy malt base. Body is light with a zesty carbonation that's not quite as smooth as a hefeweizen.

D: Goes down easily, though I'd like some more flavor. The appearance and aroma didn't suffer noticeably from the lack of included yeast, but the flavor and mouthfeel did a bit. I think I'll stick to the hefeweizens if I'm craving a light weizen.

Poured from a 16.9 oz bottle into a Weizen glass.

Appearance: The Kristall Weizen pours a delicate golden color, more robust in the thicker parts of the glass. A thick fluffy white head forms immediately, fading to leave a 2 cm head remaining. Noticeable perpetual carbonation rises from the bottom of the glass to keep the head fresh.

Smell: Light lemon notes, but the main aroma is floral. Not a strong smell overall, but it seems to drift casually up from the beer.

Taste: A smooth, mostly floral wheat taste from start to finish. Hints of lemon zest and bananas poke their way through as well. There is not much of a hop presence, not that I would expect much in a hefeweizen like this.

Mouthfeel: Definitley a smooth feel; the carbonation and wheat flavor give it a light, pleasant feel on the tongue.

Drinkability: The light floral flavors do not really move me, but that is probably a comment on the style more than this one in particular. A solid brew, but not one that I am really going to go out of my way to buy.

Pours a golden color that is clear. Maybe a shade on the lighter side. Massive head that goes down slow an unevenly. Smell is a classic malt liquor that is not weak, but not extreme either. Taste is a little watered down malt liquor. About the same after taste of a classic malt liquor and as drinkable as a classic malt liquor. Verdict: If you have never tried malt liquor or rarely drink it, it would be a tossup between this and "The Bull" for a classic malt liquor taste.

After trying their Heffe, was eager to try other beers in the line.
Pours in the classic wheat style, foamy with aroma of banana/apples.
Slight bubblegum after taste, but a bit weak.
Nothing special (from a quality brewer) but beats most of the Mass Producers 'run-off'...

smell- very fruity of banana and pineapple.

taste/mouthfeel- light body, high carbonation, crisp taste. taste of the banana and pineapple with hits of hops and spice, though much less of the flavor. My girl friend loves pineapple, so she enjoyed this beer very much. I on the other hand found it to be average.
