A - Pours a hazy yellow with a nice inch of fluffy head with pretty sticky lacing.

S - Smells of Grains, slight wheat and a great bit of citrus.

T- Wow a Helles Hefeweizen works pretty well. I get a slight bit of grains that are light compared to most Helles lagers that comes off sweet then turns to a bit of lemon peel. It does finish with a bit of wheat and sadly no banana.

M - Light to medium bodied. Drinks rather well.

Overall I was very surprised on this and maybe might track down the other Hefeweizen hybrids. Very different and drinkable beer.

A: Cloudy pale color coupled with a large white head.

S: Sweet fruits, like banana, are present, as well as distnictive citrus smell. Very pleasant smell all and all.

T: The taste has some malts, not much, as one would expect from a Hefeweizen. A hint of sweetness, and a very distinctive wheat flavor makes this beer one of the best Hefewaizens I have enjoyed, ever!

M: Mouthfeel is very good. Just the right amount of carbonation to produce nice medium-sized bubbles. A fine blend of aromas and flavors are brought together in this Bavarian delight.

O: A good exapmle of a true Bavarian-style Hefewaizen. If you like wheat beer, it doesn't get much better than this.

Why do they call this Malt Liquor on the bottle? Almost didn't try it. Picked up a couple at $1 each at the Navy Post Exchange in Spain. Pleasantly surprised. Nice head, cloudy yellowish appearance and floral sweet hefe scent. Well worth the dollar. Taste is spicy, malty, and wheaty. Why not call it a wheat liquor? Mouthfeel is light body and carbonated nicely. Overall a decent hefe, a great value, and something I will be picking up for the beach. Refreshing late spring beer. Cheers.

500mL bottle poured into a Hefe glass.

(A)- Pours a hazy brilliant yellow color. Produced a good cap of frothy white foam. Fair retention.

(S)- A mildly dry profile with an awesome burst of lemon, banana, wheat, and bubblegum. Finishes in a dry biscuit aspect.

(T)- Very yeasty and dry. Earthy, with tons of wheat and a grassy clove-like bite.

(M)- A huge effervescent carbonation level. Very dry with a fairly aggressive grassy earthy bitterness for the style.

(D)- An in your face Hefe. On the far end spectrum of dry, earthy, and yeasty parts that carries a bitterness with it uncharacteristic of the style. Not bad, but far from the best of the style.

A spicy heffe we have here. Cloudy dark straw colored beer with thin white head that retains constantly throughout the drinking experience. It leaves nice creamy walls. Beautiful for the style. The smell is lacking on banana notes, though they are faintly in the background. It is dominated by spice. Clove and black pepper, citrus, lemon and orange zest. Good grainy wheat aroma throughout. The taste follows with being spice dominated. Again with clove and black pepper. Banana is on the back of the tounge but not as much as I would like. Its a little thin and watery even for this style. Citrus notes perk it up some with lemon rind and orange zest. Not as creamy a body as I would like for this style. Very drinkable, but slightly spicy and watery. Wish it had more banana.

poured from bottle into a pilsner glass. started out with a four finger head that slowly went down to a white cap that rode it out till the end on top of a cloudy straw colored beer. i got more spice than anything but citrus and wheat were on the nose also. had a slightly spicy sweet taste with a crisp medium bodied mouthfeel that leaves you wanting more. overall a good beer.

.5L, best before 1/9/12.

Pours pale for a Hefeweizen, though still orangey and cloudy. Nice creamy head, with great lacing and solid retention.

The aroma is lightly spicy and floral, with a powdery sweetness. Some ripe fruit.

Flavor is wheaty and yeasty, with more of an emphasis on tartness when compared to other examples of the style. Slightly peppery, and well balanced and not too sweet. Banana flavor is restrained but present. The mouthfeel is a tad chalky, but the carbonation is medium-high and effervescent.

With its balance and light, refreshingly tart character, the Tucher is a superior-drinking Hefeweizen.

[Best served in a Weizen glass]

Poured a murky yellow with an average sized white creamy head that was mostly lasting and had excellent lacing. The aroma was very strong of a doughy yeast and citrus hops with notes of wheat and banana's. It tasted exquisite of nice sweet yeast and malts at first and ended with this intense creamy yeast flavor with hints of fruit with the flavor staying on the palate for a nice while. Mouthfeel was extra creamy in texture and light to medium in body with a very mild carbonation. Overall one of the best Hefeweizen's I have sampled so far.

Bottle at Big T's in Lawton, Michigan. Served in a restaurant-branded pint glass.

Hard pour into the pint glass yielded a really nice three-finger head atop a hazy light golden brew. Plenty of sticky lacing as the beer made its way down the glass. The nose was a bit tame with only mild clove presence. Instead, the banana and bubblegum were more toward the forefront. Still, a bit light overall. The flavor was a bit bready with some mild yeast. Nothing too exciting. The feel was light to medium without the requisite level of spritzy carbonation I love in a hefe. Also, the lack of clove spice was a disappointment. Overall, this was a nice brew with dinner, though not something I would seek out again.

Great hefe smell and color. A little more depth than most hefe beers. Nice grain smell with slight pepper and banana smell. Perfect carbonation and nice head. Definately a top hefe for my taste. Great with cheese and other rich foods. Great traditional German hefe, a must have! Enjoy!

500ml bottle

A- the classic hazy gold colour. A perfectly white head spreads up quickly and there's decent retention

S- Wheat malt is of course present, but i can feel mostly citrus, maybe some clove. Too much sweetness

T- Not much going on to be telling the truth. The classic bread-like flavour that is usual with weizens is a bit subdued, but does not seem to be replaced by something else. You may find some citrus and a fruity aftertaste but they are quite weak

M- The mouthfeel is nothing heartbreaking but still good. This is bodied enough and still refreshing, with a nice crispness. The main issue is an unpleasant metallic aftertaste on the palate

D- Sure drinkable and refreshing, but not an "i want another sip right now" beer

A weizen with not much personality, really average

Bright, effervescent carbonation is the first thing you notice when pouring this beer. It fizzes and the bubbles lift the liquid into the air in little bursts like champagne. The color is golden, and nearly clear, not cloudy like most wheats. The smell is fresh and clean: grain, a little spice, light citrus, salt/ocean air. The flavor is among the most crisp and refreshing beers you'll ever have. The body is light, and flavor is medium - not too light and not too heavy. Wheat is there, (obviously) and nice spiciness, no off flavors at all and that great carbonation gives it a sublime mouthfeel. Drinkability is fantastic. This is an excellent summer session beer. It goes down smoother than 90% of the beers I've ever tried.

A=Pours a thin, wispy, nearly headless yellow straw color, nearly the same color as a lot of BMC adjunct lagers. Very, very weak appearance. I have seen some amazing looking hefeweizens but this it not on the same level.

S=Far better than the appearance. Wheat, yeast, faint orange and banana, typical hefeweizen fare.

T= Banana, a bit of clove, banana, faint orange, and wheat. Not terrible for a hefeweizen, but not great either.

M=highly carbonated, medium bodied, highlight of the beer.

D=Outstanding for the style, despite the subpar taste. Can't quite put my finger on why, but I could down several of these.

I was expecting more. Completely average in every way. Still, if you can find it for cheap then it is worth a try.

poured from a 500 ml bottle into a weihenstephan heft weizen glass.

Pours a hazy yellow honey color with a touch of orange peel on the body. Very little head retention and formation which also lends to little lacing down the glass. not a great start to this one. The aromas are lemon spritz, a touch of bubblegum and some wheat notes. Pretty straight forward, not over powering , though it does lack the "hefe" feel you get from the other germans. There is a very refreshing lemon and even some basil on the taste that sets this apart from most other hefeweizens i have had. there is a nice lightness to this that i also didn't expect from this. The overall mouthfeel was good and made this more drinkable than i would normally rate a hefeweizen that lacks such flavor. Not my go to hefeweizen, but a good alternative to blue moon or whatever macro version is at the bar.

Enjoyed at Uncle Freddies.

A hazy golden yellow with nice white head that goes to a blanket. Smells of soft sweet wheat, some banana and a little spice. The taste is light banana, nice sweetness. A very tasty and refreshing beer. The body is light active carbonation yet the structure is fine making it quite smooth. Overall a very drinkable and tasty beer.

T: Slightly acidic, with delicious bread, bananas, and clove.

I got this brew from a "10 Best Beers of the World" pack from World Market in Claremont, FL..

Appearance: The beer pours with a nice mousy, three-finger white head with decent retention. The frothy goodness on top left light lacing on the glass. The brew is a cloudy golden/slightly amber color.

Smell: The nose is s little more geared toward banana but I want to say there is smirching richer behind it, like rum. A little citrus and spice is also in there with it.

Taste: Sweet malts hit your taste buds first and then the spice and banana/citrus. After the initial flavors hit you, it moves in to an earthy bitterness. Much more complex than most hef's I am familiar with.

Mouthfeel: Carbonation was good and the brew itself was pretty refreshing.

Drinkability: Great hef, a well-rounded beer that is good in all the right places.

A: The beer is cloudy yellow in color and poured into a weizen glass with a two finger high bright white head that died down but consistently left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface. A high amount of carbonation is visible.
S: There are moderate aromas of apple, citrus and wheat in the nose.
T: The taste has a slight amount of sweetness and flavors of apple, banana, clove and wheat.
M: It feels medium-bodied and smooth on the palate with a moderate to high amount of carbonation.
D: The beer is very easy to drink and quite refreshing.

Wow watch that head, three fingers plus. Very clinging lace. Color is a hazy 5 on the SRM beer color chart. Deep aroma of malt, some orange peel, and other citrus, wheat, and pepper. Taste is really good, flavors of malt, orange, pepper, really clean and balanced. Heavy cream texture in my mouth...great. A bit pricey, but for the little extra change, it is worth the experience.

11.2 oz brown bottle.

It ours excellently for a hefeweizen. It had a foamy white head that rises above the rim. It sticks for a nice while and recedes with some decent lacing. The body is a beautiful hazy gold.

It is definitely very clovey in the smell. There is also some ripe banana here and some wheat.

The flavor is clove/banana/wheat heaven with a hint of lemon. It is a prototypical hefeweizen through and through.

There is a high level of carbonation and a slightly dry finish.

500ml bottle into a perfect pint. Tasted as part of a five-way hefe comparison.

A - Huge pillowy three fingers of head, with great retention and plenty of lacing. Slightly hazy straw yellow. Great looking, even for the style.

S - Plenty of the usual banana esters, with lots of yeastiness. Not as bready as some hefes, but still has that banana-nut muffin aspect nailed. But points off for not having a very strong aroma -- it's definitely much more faint than the best in this style.

T - It doesn't quite deliver on the promise of the nose. The flavors are there, with banana and yeast, and a nice nuttiness that I haven't gotten out of a hefe before. Nutmeg and clove. But it's faint. And it's dry as a bone, which detracts from the flavors more than I'd like.

M - Solid carbonation and a reasonably full feel, but finishes with a slick feel that is unsatisfying.

D - I could usually drink this style all day, but for some reason this one isn't really doing it for me.

O - Wow, what a difference a couple of years of trying new beers makes. I used to drink the hell out of this beer, both on tap and by the bottle. It used to be one of my favorites. But now after having some of the best (looking at Weihenstephaner here) it pales in comparison.

I poured the 500ml bottle into my 10th Mountain Division weiss glass. It looks golden and translucent like a natural weizen beer should. It has a thick creamy white head that is silky to the touch. By the way great lacing, it makes little islands of lace around the glass. Smells like banana bread and hard water. Tastes like banana bread, very bready and a little like apricot. Wheat is the name of the game and it is here! Medium body and well carbonated from the bottle conditioning. This is a thirst quencher that has some dry pucker to it. I can drink this in any season no problem and it goes down very easy as well.

12oz. bottle served at Little Willie's, Tuscaloosa, AL, into a pint glass

Pours an Icterine shade of yellow. Typical yeasty haze. 1.5 fingers of sterling white head form on top and it doesn't really go away for a long time. Almost no lacing, despite the persistence of the head.

Nice yeast character on the nose: fresh-squeezed lemon and banana and clove. Zippy wheat base. A small kiss of hops. Nothing about this hefe is original, but all of the familiar components are in excellent balance with each other.

That sense of balance carries over to the palate. Lots of lemon flavor from the tang of wheat to the fruits coming out of the hefeweizen yeast. Some green hop cone flavor lends a fresh bitterness to all of that grainy/tangy flavor. Not original at all but it tastes good. Classic flavors.

Solid motuhfeel. It doesn't coat the mouth yet has enough creaminess to carry all of the yeast flavors. A low ABV% (5.3%) means that you could happily session this hefe.

This hefeweizen will not amaze you. It goes about its business all workmanlike. You can count on it to get the job done. Very solid example of the style.
