This is a breath of fresh air to this community. Before they came to town there was a drive to Tampa or Orlando to get any kind of good beer. They stock a good selection of micros, Beligan, Germany, English, and etc... They have devoted an entire isle for beer(in a superstore for wine) I think that's pretty good! Prices can't be beat! Their staff is helpful, but they tend to know more about wine and liquor than they do about beer. In the back of the place they have a cooler section for bombers and six-packs to go.

was in cape coral..which is a wasteland for craft beer went across the calooshatchee river into ft. myers and found total wine and spirits it sits on s us 41..the store is clean and well stocked service is average but pleasant..the store is a wine and liquor store first..the beer selection is adequate DFH,stone, rogue, bells SN..you get the picture but nothing great..all the regulars are here nothing stands out kind of boring.they did have a mix and match 6 pack..which is what i bought..but geez it is the best place i found while in SW FL..but in the end its just average but it is the best in this area for craft beer.. a sad area for brew..glad i dont live here

Total Wine & More is where I have been getting mostly all of my brew. There is not a big selection of places to get craft beer in the Fort Myers area, this seems to be the standout.
As far as the store itself goes, the majority of their concentration is (as the title states) wine & liquor. They do however have a nice selection of craft beer available on shelf and in the fridge. They also have a nice selection of kegs including Sierra Nevada & Sam Adams.
Craft beer has basically two aisles, one section of bombers & 750mls alongside a section of 12oz singles. With the 12 oz singles, you can mix and match your own 6pack - they charge per beer. On the flip side aisle they also have standard six packs.
Breweries offered include:
Abita, Anchor, Avery, Bell's, Blue Point, Boulder, Breckenridge, Brooklyn, Cascade, Cigar City, DFH, Flying Dog, Full Sail, Great Divide, Highland, Jolly Pumpkin, Lagunitas, Left Hand, Magic Hat, North Coast, Ommegang, Oskar Blues, Rogue, Sam Adams, Shipyard, Sierra Nevada, Smuttynose, Southern Tier, Starr Hill, Stone, Terrapin, The Bruery, Victory, Weyerbacher.
There are more domestics + imports like Chimay, Samuel Smith, St Bernardus, etc...
Definitely worth checking out!!! Probably the best place in Fort Myers to get craft beer.

We swung by Total wine & More while vacationing in Fort Myers. Initially, I was wowed by the immense selection of wine and liquor, and eventually weaved my way back to the craft beer section. One side of the aisle was bombers and singles, with the other side sixpacks. There were selections from most of the regular brewers like Sam Adams, Left Hand, Victory, and Stone, with standouts like Oscar Blues, Brewdog and The Bruery. Lots of more local Florida breweries were available, all with 12oz singles. The Belgian and German selection was sizable as well. The pricing was very competitive, with many beers cheaper than they are in MI. If I would have driven down here, it would have been easy to load up the car. A must-stop if you're in the area.

Total Wine is what it is. A store with a pretty decent selection at pretty damn good prices that are pretty hard to beat. You are not going to find any hard to find rare offerings, but they do carry most of the basics from the big breweries and some of the smaller locals at very reasonable prices. Most of the employees working there no nothing about beer, but the store is always clean and the isles are typically well stocked. Overall, Total Wine is no where near the best store in town but it is easy and convenient especially if you know what you want going in to it. As mentioned, don't go in looking for stuff you have never seen before, but it is a nice place to stock up with the essentials.
On a side note, make sure to check the dates on the bottles (if applicable) because I have noticed some beers on the shelves that are past their "best by" date.

Here in the northwest Atlanta suburbs, we have a Total Wine. I would probably not put it in the top 5 beer stores in the area. So to the locals in Fort Myers, maybe there are better beer options. To the tourist, it's an oasis.
Lots of beer available at singles. Highlights for me included Bell's, Penn, Steelhead, Kona and New England breweries. Some beers from Florida breweries too but none from the Belgian-style brewery Saint Somewhere. All beers were kept in good shape and I didn't see any turnover problems.
Service was polite but I didn't need any help picking out beer. For the out of towner, the selection was fantastic. I can't imagine any place in the area having better.
If you're stuck beerless at the beach, take a trip out and pick up some supplies.

This is a pretty well stocked Total Wine in the Ft. Myers area, just about everthing Florida can get minus the imports is well represented in here. The service is down right horrible as in all the Total Wine's, what do you expect its a corporate setting. I am not reviewing the wine section only the beer which is nicely stocked, well organized, and not picked over as in other Total Wine's that I have visited. Managers should take note of these stores, some of the Total Wine's look like they are going out of business, with the uninspired picked over selections.

This was the first major place to open up in Ft Myers after ABC and it was soo terribly needed. I remeber trying to find good beer down there was a nearly impossible task and if you did manage it was like a miracle. Along comes the bldg of a total wine right after I move. So I go down for a wisit and I am blown away. They have more here then I ever thought was available in Ft Myers,. Soo many belgians, and import it was rediculous., S outh Florida seems to get more then there fair share of imports sometimes and this was not execption. I would easily say this is the stop if you are there,. The highlight of my trip to ft myers as far as beer, now we had to make our way over to visit the friends on the east coast and try and hit a few stores and bars as well!

If you are ever in the Ft Myers area and need to stop for beer this will be your best bet. Off US41 at the intersection of Danials Prky this is the best place in Ft Myers for beer. With about 300 different beers they have a good selection. They also carry a lot of 6 and 4 packs of the single beer collection and also have about 40 different 750ml. The service is somewhat dissapointing with beer as this is mostly a wine store and most of the employees are taught about wine rather than beer. But the prices are very good and the selection is outstanding, and this is why I would recommend this place to everyone.

I love this store! I've never seen such a great selection. I would like to see a few more imports from other countries but the microbrew choices are great. I've complied a list of beer that I've tried just from there and I'm up to 272. There is even a great selection of 750ml sized bottles. The store is such a big area there is plenty of room to move around and everything is clearly marked and uncluttered. Make your own 6-pack provides a wonderful oppurtunity to sample a bunch of different beers without burning a hole in your wallet. If you're in the area be sure and stop in.
