Two finger tan head with nice lacing but poor retention on a jet black body. Coffee and milk chocolate dominated aroma. Flavor has mild coffee and hint of bitterness with more dark than milk chocolate, roasted malts. Medium body and light to moderate carbonation. Finish is dry mostly from the coffee. Nice Irish stout but definitely coffee forward flavor although not coffee heavy of that makes sense.

Part of the sampler, 5 ounces poured into a sample glass at the brewpub.

Pours a deep black color with a nice tan head. Aromas are dominated with roasted coffee and a little chocolate. Quaff is extremely creamy and again dominated with the coffee flavors. Mouthfeel was medium bodied and very creamy. This was a very drinkable brew, I wished I had more than the 5 ounce sample pour.

Pours a black color. 1/3 inch head of an off-white color. Good retention and slight lacing. Smells of roasted malt, sweet malt, slight yeast, and hint of hops. Fits the style of an Irish Dry Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of roasted malt, sweet malt, hops, slight yeast, and a hint of grain. Overall, slightly better than average Irish Dry.

A new offering from SQ1 that makes it to the perennial side of the board.

Of course a black as night brew, topped with a frothy tan with nice lacing in the plain shaker pint glass.

They call this an Irish Stout - but it seems very porter like to me. The aroma is malt and burnt toast, but the quaff provides a sour ale quality - tasty but unexpected. A bit of a cross breed brew.

Good body and easy drinking - you know, not too "heavy or filling". I could easily drink these all evening, if not for all the superb brews they have to offer.
