Poured from a 500ml bottle into a straight pint glass.
Pours a clear golden colour with a pretty decent head.
Smells malty and wholesome, light biscuity malts though. Nice and fresh too.
Tastes malty again, with an interesting twang provided by yeast and bitter sweet fruit. Very refreshing and wholesome.
Overall a great tasting beer, very good depth of flavour, one of the better helles out there.

500 ml bottle, poured into Weizen glass.
Head is large and foamy but dissipates quickly and leaves only some scattered lace.
Aroma is dominated by malt. Taste is also malty at first, a bit fruity in the middle and the hops hits you last. Leaves a pleasant, slightly bitter aftertaste.
Body feels light to medium. Carbonation is medium.
Average beer. Not bad but neither impressive.

The appearance is clear and golden with a white head and very little carbonation.
The nose is incredibly enticing, full of sweet and slightly dry, bread-like malty tones, a hint of honey and roses, some fruity notes (lemon, apple, white grape) and an obvious trace of refreshing hops.
The taste is strong both in regard to malt and hops. The initial taste is sweet and juicy malt with a chewy quality and light salty touches. After passing through a dry and grainy phase the beer starts manifesting its hoppy contents: very herbal or spicy with an unmistakable bittering effect. The bitterness remains in the finish and teams up with a cleanliness that brings to mind high quality water.
Mouthfeel is very soft and smooth and somewhat slow due to the heavy body. Accurate carbonation, but maybe just a bit too thick all in all.
A very good lager like all beers from this brewery, and a real treat.

500ml swingtop bottle. best by date of 25.02.09 (sampled in early-mid march 2009, so a couple weeks off, but oh well...)
golden straw. slight haze but no distinct particles despite the bottle sediment. finely foamy head fades to wisps and ring. good lacing, especially in the 2nd half of the glass.
bready malt aroma with hint of lemon. whiff of sulfur and then noble hops. back to malt and that lemon hint.
bready malt sweetness on the palate, with that lemony, grapey fruitiness coming in with crisp noble hop bitterness.
not too thin, quite smooth and almost syrupy, even. faint resins in finish. fizzy yet tight carbonation. prickly.
out-of-date, but still quite intriguing (esp. with those zesty lemon notes) and pleasantly quaffable.

Potent grassy hop aroma with hints of turpentine. Tall, foamy, off-white head held strong. Glowing golden beer holds a few lazily rising bubbles. Lightly sweet malt flavor mixes equally with turpentine. Finishes with a hint of bitterness. Light carbonation and a body that leans to the light side makes for a beer that disappears down the throat. A nice hoppy lager with a solid hop presence. No complaints here.

Sampled on-tap at the Rittmayer Keller at Kreuzberg, Hallerndorf, Germany.
This Landbier poured a clear, amber color with fluffy, white foam that settled slowly and clung to the stein krug. The smell was mildly malty with hints of cocoa. The taste was malty with a hint of sweetness and mild hoppiness to balance. The mouthfeel was smooth and creamy with medium body and low carbonation feel. The finish was nicely malty. This was a nice beer.
