Nothing says it's Friday evening like a run down to your local Spec's. For me, it happens to be the one on Highway 6 in First Colony.
I've been to this store many times over the past year, and rarely have I left disappointed. The selection is good (not AMAZING), but 90% of the time you will find what you are looking for. They carry beer from pretty much every craft brewery around the US that distributes in Texas, along with a great selection of imports.
The service has been very helpful in the past, including helping me find an entire box full of St. Arnold's seasonal sixers that hadn't yet been stocked on the shelves.
On that note, my only gripe is that sometimes they are slow to stock certain seasonals. There have been instances where I have been able to buy up to date seasonals from my local grocery store, whereas at Spec's they were still only selling the previous season's brew.
This is a minor gripe for what is otherwise a great place to shop if you are a true beer lover.

Located just a few miles from First Colony Mall.
I love to look for Spec's stores because they all seem to have one or three items that the others don't. So i feel like im that Austrailian guy searching for the fabled beast.Krikey! (That and i like the 5% discount i get for just useing cash which is use anyways)
The store was basicly a smaller version of downtown specs but without the crowd. I only say that because the selection was very simular.
Service was great, I got prompt help and they seemed over excited to help me try to decide what i wanted. Which is almost a turnoff but at the same time, im a sucker for attention. Prices are realitively the same as most Spec's, but they did have a few of my favorites on sale so thats a plus.
Overall, I had a great beer buying experience and if it was not so far i'd go there all the time for all my shopping needs.
