This place has gone through a lot of changes over the years, and even a lot of changes just within this year. They have knocked down a few walls that separated one area from the rest of the place, and they plan on expanding next door.
This was the first bar that I ever went to expressly to sit down and have a beer. I had been to bars before with friends, but they were all super local places for fundraising events or to pick up a special bottle. I had gone to try the Stone RIS at a Wednesday night Stone Tap Takeover. I've always met someone to talk to there while I drink. Wednesday brewery nights are the best and you get a some glass from the brewery to take home.
The atmosphere is very nice. It is well-lit and the layout is very broad and open.
I joined their Beer Club for $2 the first time I was there. I wish they had better perk intervals, but at 50 beers you become an "Official Member of the FBC" and get an FBC shirt. Then, at 100 you get an FBC mug to take home (I don't think they do that anymore), but you get all future pints in a 19 oz. mug (I don't think this counts for the yellow-colored drinks on their board, which are the specialty or high ABV ones).
Their own beers (Push Brewing) are decent and they sometimes collaborate with local breweries like DuClaw and Heavy Seas, among others.
The selection is excellent and they are displayed on 2 giant LCD screens above the center of the bar. They have 50+ taps, rotate often and have one of the best selections in MD. However, some of the pricing can be quite ridiculous, but some beers are also quite cheap, so it kind of balances out.
I haven't had any of the food, but I have looked at the menu and everything is quite pricey. They don't have any cheap finger foods.
Service is ok, but if you are the ends of the bar, it can be harder to get service. They are good at getting beers you might like though.

Disclaimer – I am a Frisco apologist:
I’m from Columbia and love that Frisco is a truly a local establishment. I have been frequenting the place since it was still Frisco Burrito at its old location and remember when the current owners dad (my old eye Dr.) would close his practice at lunchtime every day to poor beer. My friend’s bands used to play at the old location and I hit my 100th in “the book” and joined the Beer Club and shot gunned my Natty Boh some time ago.
Frisco anchors the “craft beer corner” of Howard County and at Frisco, the focus is the Beer. The atmosphere is sophisticated, but not pretentious. The staff is attentive and knows their beer, but is not overbearing or unapproachable. They also seem to have very little turn over on the staff which speaks to the kind of people they hire and place it is. The food is a tad pricey, but usually worth it. Try the Steam Sammy. I’ve always loved the beer board (the 2 huge LCD screens that show the live updated beer list and the live on line beers list (no outdated paper menus here.) It’s a great place to “hide out” and “work” during business hours if you can be so lucky.
My only gripes are the tight parking and lack of TV’s for sports. I know it’s not a “sports bar’ but it would be nice if it were easier to catch a game on the TV. Otherwise, the place is fantastic and a wonderful comfortable place to get a beer.

I was back in the area for a week and went here twice. As everyone else has said the beer selection is great. The two huge vertically turned flat panel TVs that serve as the tap list are really cool and a great way to keep up with changing taps. The place was much bigger than I loft it would be and I overhead one of the waiters telling patrons that weren't close enough to see the tap list that there was free WiFi and they could use that to go you their website and view the tap list on there... a minor hassle but a pretty cool idea!
I've seen a couple reviews that said the food was terrible so I played it safe and got the queso and chips.... I gotta say they where really good, but it's impossible to screw that up! As I was sitting there I overheard the people next to me raving about how good the food was... So the second time I was there I decided to be more daring with my food order. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious and went really well with my Terrapin Monk's Revenge! I would advise anyone who goes there to give there food a fair shot as it seems like they've improved from some of the earlier reviews.

Atmosphere is very cozy. When you walk into the place its clean and the dining room and the bar are one and the same. There is a family style table in the middle of the dining room that seats about 18 people. A little noisy for watching the game on their flat screens which are all across the back of the bar but great for hanging with friends and making new ones. Everyone is very friendly and happy.
Service is solid but can be slow during lunch (they don't understand you only have an hour). The staff is happy and knowledgeable about the beers they have on tap and make good recommendations.
Food is terrible and can only be listed as bar food at best. I had the Mahi Taco's and they were not very good and its hard to screw up fish taco. The other person I was with had the Taphouse Chicken and they were not impressed with their meal either. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere first and then go to Frisco.
The Beer!!! This is why you come to Frisco!!! 50 beers on tap with many more in bottles. This place really knows good craft beer. They have an electronic beer menu behind the bar which lists all their beers on tap and what's "on deck" next. Meaning, the next keg that gets kicked the keg on deck is opened next. For good quality craft beer I rate this place a 5! perfect!!!
Value - The beers are a little pricey but hard to find another place with the selection that they have.
Events - They have lots of beer specials and brewery events and keep their events calendar updated. I hate when a place doesn't keep their website or calendar up to date.... what's the point.
Summary - Outstanding place to socialize with friends and met new people while having some of the best beer you ever had on tap. Again, watch for events, happenings, and specials has they do alot. Just make sure you eat before going because the food is not very good.

This is a cool taphouse and I love that they change out their taps and bottle selection frequently. The selection of beers is pretty good as well and they seem to really try for a wide variety from across the country in addition to regional brews. The food is good and a bit more "upscale" than what you would get at most bars I've visited. The service has been great when we've gone there on weekend nights and our servers have always been very knowledgeable with the current beer selection and gladly offer recommendations. This seems to be a favorite for locals and we have apparently been here enough to notice that there are some regulars that like this place. The only downside that I have found going here is the lack of parking on busy nights because they are on a small lot. I definitely recommend this place and would encourage others to check it out and pass up the more expensive visit to Victoria Gastro Pub down the road.

Frisco has become a biweekly pitstop for me. The beer selection is out of this world. I am continuously surprised to see new beers on tap that I have only ever seen in bottles. The staff is very knowledgeable and are quick with suggestions. They have over 50 taps and a bottle beer list with some pretty cool stuff on there.
I usually stop in on Wednesday nights for pint night where you can get a glass just for ordering a beer by the featured brewery. They go quick so I usually get there around 7. This last week was Dogfish with over 20 beers which didn't disappoint.
Parking can be pretty iffy but I usually have great luck on the side street next door.
The food is average but the servers say there is a new menu in the works. My favorite is the wings.

Fantastic Place in Columbia, MD to drink some crafted beers. 50 Taps (2 are Nitro) and 2 Casked dafts. They have an updating Electronic billboard and website so you can look at the beer list even if you can't see the screens above the bar.
The servers are friendly and mostly know their stuff. The bartenders are great and if you go regularly, remember what you do and don't like and can suggest accordingly.
Parking as mentioned in other reviews is a bit tight on popular nights. Wednesdays are brewery nights and they put on several (6-8) beers by that brewery. This coming week it will be Allagash.
All styles are pretty well represented on the tap menu. They do a good job to have at least one of a particular style available. The tap list rotates pretty well. Some rarer beers can come on tap and sell out quite quickly.
The food is average. The guac and chips and buffalo burger are the best (to me) on the menu.

Let me begin by saying that I was a bud light drinker, and craft beer newbie; until my first visit to Frisco Taphouse back in November. I feel like my taste buds have completely changed, and my eyes have opened for the first time... I have been reborn.
Frisco is huge. Every time I walk in I feel like I'm inside of Costco; but they sell beer... and lots of it. Stop imagining a giant garage(Costco was a metaphor you dummy). In all seriousness this place feels so inviting as soon as you walk in. The decor is a really nice blend of modern and contemporary, and there are people all around seeming having a great time. In my opinion the noise level inside is perfect. Its not too loud so that you cant hear yourself speak, but its loud enough so that your private conversation isn't heard by the entire bar/restaurant. However, one downside is the size of the parking lot. You might have to park 50 yards away on a side street, but its been a warm winter, so I don't mind the walk.
I'm not gonna lie, back in November the service was somewhat lacking, but as of the last month and a half I don't have a single complaint. The bartenders and servers are prompt, VERY friendly, and actually know their stuff. Every visit I learn something new(I feel like I'm enrolled in beer science 101, and I love it). I still remember the first thing I learned is what an IBU is, and Maybe some of you other guys are already beer savvy, but like I said, as of November I was a newbie.
The food, Its honestly pretty damn good. There was defiantly room for improvement, and as of last week I got my third burger that Iv'e ever had from Frisco... Holy crap... ask and you shall receive! I asked my server why it was so good, he said they have new burger buns, I didn't notice but I sure as hell could taste it. He also explained to me that there is a brand new food menu coming out within the next two months with lots of tweaks and new menu items. He continued to explain how Frisco will be brewing their own beer within the same time frame. I'm really looking forward to it. Even if it leaves me bankrupt.
I highly, highly, highly, recommend this place to anyone, cheers.

This is a new location for Frisco and the new digs are great, though still the same (if larger) fairly loud "pub" atmosphere. Tile floors and high ceilings make for a fairly noisy experience, but that's part of the fun of the place. Let's just put this number out there: 50. Fifty taps--and all of them are very good quality craft and/or unusual import beers. Most of the higher gravity variety. So that's fun, but I found some wonderful choices on their rotating tap list. I won't begin to list them (as I understand they do change), but the web page is up-to-date. The bartenders know their beers and can make some great recommendations. A lot of local/regional breweries represented and I found it a great way to try imports without worrying about the bottle skunk or off flavors, since it's all on tap. A large selection of bottles, if you want too; but all-in-all a nice place. The food was OK (on the better side) for pub fare, but I did notice that there was little on the menu I wouldn't love to order. Great selections. A tad on the pricey side (especially for some of the beers that come in at, say, $10 a glass) but hey, what a way to go!

A great selection on draught and in bottles. The higher alcohol and more rare beers came in 10oz servings only. I go out with a designated driver, so this limitation is unnecessary, especially at pint prices. The fajitas and Frisco shrimp were bland with plain sides. The buffalo burger went over reasonably well, and the fries were fresh cut ocean style. Overall, worth a look for the beer selection. The prices are high, but not unreasonable for the area. Food is unremarkable. Eat somewhere else, then come here for your beer.
