12oz brown bottle, no freshness date.
The wheat stands tall with dense froth, very cloudy but not enough to block the view of all of the bubbles. Powdered clove, dried bananas and chalky yeast infiltrate the nostrils. Smooth creamy yet bitty from the yeast presence ... there is a nice little crispness snap as well. Big yeast and wheat twang, dry clove and a fruitiness (banana and pear for the most part). Faint esters and more yeast. Finishes very dry.
A good stab a the style, a bit too much yeast if that is possible but it seemed to have slightly taken over here. Good drinking regardless.

Purchased as part of a mixed 12 pack, all of which were excellent.
5.2% ABV, 10 IBUs, OG = 12 P. Fermented with a traditional bavarian yeast strain.
Pours to a slightly cloudy light golden, forming a modest white head with average retention and minimal lacing. Carbonation is moderate, about 2.7 or so. The aroma is a little mild in the banana and cloves department, but this bottle is maybe 3 months past it's prime, having a little bit more of a mown hay smell. The mouthfeel is crisp and clean with a light body. The taste is also quite mild in the bananas and cloves and has a hybrid american/bavarian wheat taste, like they used blended yeast. I do remember the fresher bottle that I had a few months ago had a more pronounced traditional taste. Bitterness is very mild. Aftertaste has the suggestion of grass and green apples. A little tart.
This is an OK hefe-weizen. I would pick Ayinger/Paulaner/Wheihenstephaner/Spaten/Schneider/Franziskaner over this considering the negligible price difference.

Appearance: A yeast-swirled pour produces a cloudy honey color with a meringue layer of foam that leaves a few dots here and there
Smell: Toasted bread and an artificial smelling citrus powder mix
Taste: Tastes a little better than it smells, but tangy, rotting apple and lemon phenols get in the way of the toasted bread and faint clove/banana character; the flavors fade rather quickly
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with spritzy carbonation; somewhat aqueous and not nearly creamy enough
Overall: Better than a typical American Wheat but well below par for a Hefe

Thirsty Dog Whippet Wheat. Three 12oz bottles poured into two weizen glasses. Yeast swirled in accordingly.
Cropped inch of off-white head. Dark body. Almost muddy pond-water yellow/amber. Loads of suspended yeast. Still translucent. Noticeable rising carb. No floaties. 3.5
Very wheaty aroma with clove spice, very faint banana, slight rust, and a hint of tart apricot. Some citric zing that is similar to lemon juice, but an otherwise mediocre nose. 3.0
This one’s almost funky. Notes of moldy lemons, bright snappy pepper spice, clove, straw, fresh wheat grain, tart fruit juice, and unripe banana. Has a little bit of lime in the citrus. Appealing with the snappy and spicy front-end. Finishes dry with the necessary banana and clove, and a few saison-like flavors. An interesting hefeweizen. A profile I wouldn’t expect from this brewery. 4.0
Drinks medium-bodied with an appealing wetness. Could use more milkyness. The carbonation is subdued, but has shown up. Not bad. 3.5
An above-average hefe for American craft, maybe just an average hefe overall. I’m nodding satisfiably about purchasing this six-pack. 3.5

Still left at Spotted Dog in Carrboro, NC.
I know its old, but it did not look good for a hefeweizen. Only slightly cloudy. a little dark in color as well, and the head was small and light. Ugly looking German Hefeweizen.
The wheat has contributed more to the nose than the yeast. A crisp wheat twang in dominant, with hints of clove.
At first, I was scared. I didnt get alot of the nice yeast flavors, but I kept chugging along. I began to notice that the yeast imparted a good amount of clove. The wheat malt has imparted a light body, light feeling, and a nice refreshing twang.
Overall, a middle of the road German Hefeweizen. In terms of American Hefeweizens, its near the top somewhere.

I got this beer from Auslander. Thanks Chris!
12oz bottle served in a weizen glass.
L - murky brownish yellow color with a thin white head.
S - hearty hefeweizen aroma.
T - flavorful malted wheat with subtle spices and hints of lemon zest.
F - medium bodied with mild carbonation.

Good beer with alot of taste. I unfortunately drank this with a meal so I feel I may not of appreciated the taste of the beer independantly. But the unfiltered armoa and golden look was your typical Hefeweizen. Beer has a strong character and is a summer favorite
